It never stopped me! But then again, I couldn't drop anchor either.

Has anyone else had this problem? It was pretty funny to see Fort Charles from the high seas.

Great shots! I wonder what would happen if you fired your broadsides, or someone let loose the big cannon ammo (fire, thunder, fury) while sailing through the island. Now *that* is a screen shot that I would like to see.

And f9 for the screen shot, f12 first if you want to take away everything else, like the noto level, chat box, compass, all that good stuff. Hit f12 again when you're done and it will bring it all back to congest your screen. :)

Aww, those shots remind me of beta days when we always sailed right up to the dock. It was hard to get out of port too, because the navy ships were right there shooting at us as we boarded our ships.
I do miss the views of the port though.

This glitch has been seen several times. There is a way to do it whenever you want unless they fixed it. Great screenshots by the way.

Thanks for the compliment. I think I did fire my broadsides, but I don't remember what happened. I'm on basic access, so I don't have thunder or anything like that, haha.

It happens on the spur of PDF too. Usually when you get the context switch between gunnery and sailing, the game fails to re-set the anchoring boundaries around the island. So I've been taking people on sailing trips under PDF for a while.

HOWEVER, it's been corrected to the point that if you stop sailing and go back to gunery, it pushes you back out beyond the anchoring boundary of the island.

If this happens again go to the govoners Mansion and light it up with Explosives or Lightning. I think thats the only thing that is really affected by the cannons.

This happened to me once, I think I was in my light frigate at the time. I was coming in from the back side of Port Royal, and on the Padres side, I got really close to the land and followed it around. I thought something was strange when it didn't give me the red warning text, and I ended up sailing up close to the beach...too bad I couldn't just jump off the ship and waltz right into town. I was close enough to do that, but didn't try it because I was trying to dock and join up with some friends, and my computer enjoys spending extended periods of time at the load screens, if you catch my drift. If I can do it again though I'll try to get some screen shots.

I parked my ship next to the Governors mansion. Must post the screenshot :)

It was never intended to be a feature Jonny - this glitch just happens every once in a while where you can 'sail' though an island (and only another can doc for you). :)

I do some great screenies somewhere around here of one night we had the glitch... one in paticular where I'm shooting Lighting at the town buildings and its going off above them :) Almost looked like a storm was rollin' in... I'll try to dig them up at some point and post them in the Screenshots folder...
