Trouble getting in the game
 

Okay, I've downloaded the game and the Setup thing. But each time I log in, a new window comes up where ( I think) i'm soppoused to play the game. The Window has an advertisement at the top and then some links to the left hand side. After awhile, a little box pops up that says "inv-something" ( It doesn't really say inv-something I just forgot what it said besides the first three letters) then it goes away after sometime later and now it says downloading at the bottom-left hand corner and connecting in the middle. that goes away too and says that it couldn't connect to the game server, I click okay, and wait a bit longer, this time music comes up but no picture besides the Ad ,which has stopped moving, and the stuff on the left side. I keep on waiting for something but instead I get a Pop up from the computer that says that something is wrong with the game!!

Has anyone else had or has been having that before? I'm really not sure how to fix it. Anybody mind helping me out?

:confused: Did you get a chance to create a pirate? The game is incredibly slow. This is my first day of playing, just got the invite this morning.

Nope, not even creating a character. Once I get the message, I try exiting out, but it won't work. I have to try exiting out millions of times 'till it works.

That is too bad! Maybe you have to re-download the game. It is beta, so it is frustrating! lol

Nope, I just tried that right now. Geez, I'll try next week, or on monday, it might be because the Stress test.

Sorry did not work for you. Actually, it keeps crashing, so I really have had little time in the game. Try tomorrow. The testing is only Thursday-Friday, 5pm to 5am, and Saturday-Sunday, 9am to 9pm.

The screen first says "initializing".
I would suggest that you uninstall the download then re-install.
The game says it's open just those four days but we've been playing every day.

The same thing is happening to me, I guess I'll try uninstalling and then installing it again.

I'm having problems getting in too. Basically, I get to the start screen, and click there. Next the game just crashes on me. I haven't even been able to create a guy yet....Any ideas?

Bleh, I'm still having problems. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, but it's still not working correctly. Anyone have any ideas of what to do?

Bleh, Schoomfy, looks like we all having that problem.
Maybe we can get on only on certain days, like tomorrow for Stress Tests?

I'm up to the initializing part... And it's working. I guess the hour of fetching the phase.# files payed off. I'm going to make a pirate D=

Yeah, I'm also up to initializing. So far, no shut downs.
But it is taking a long time, at the Initializing screen. And the ads are white..

It works, but it is EXTREMELY lagged. I'm guessing part of the lagg is due to the animated adverts. They always lagg. So maybe in the official version they can get rid of animated adverts and just keep still images.

You're lucky in my opinion.
I can't even get past the Initializing stage!!!!
It keeps sending me a pop-up saying "Sorry! PiratesOnline encountered a problem and needs to shut down!" from my internet broswer.
So is it my computer, or the game?

Hmm...
Check to make sure you have the specified requirement (Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintainence > See basic information about your computer. Information you need should appear under' Computer' at the bottom of the pop-up) before playing.

If so, and still doesn't work, try uninstalling it an re-install it. If that doesn't work, just send an error report to them using the feedback page.

But anyway, I've managed to get into options and i'm going to try and put al the graphics low and see if that loses some lagg.

So far, I meet most requirements, but I can't seem to find out about these requirements:

32MB graphics card (64 MB recommended)
DirectX 9 or better

Where can I find info on these? Because under the computer section, it says nothing about them.

I'm glad a few people have the same problems as me. My friend sounds like he is having a fun time in the game, he got in....Hopefully Disney will fix our bug soon guys. :)

Unfortunatly, I wasn't sure about them either, but I'm pretty sure I had a big enough graphic card (My dad is a master at computers and got me this great graphics card) and I'm not sure about DirectX 9+. Try looking around your control panel or going to 'My Computer' and right click disc drive c: (or something like that) and select properties.

If all else fails, ask someone to take a look at your computer. That, or wait until the full version comes out.

Are you sure there are no other ways to get in?

Not sure. You can unistall and re-install, see if that works. I can't really help because mine loads/works straight away, so I haven't experienced this problem. I still have lagg, but it is BETA.

Just keep trying, you might get in eventually.

its goes through everything and sends me back to the darn password thingy...im ready destroy my computer. this is the 10th time its done this to me, i tried last night and today and it wont work! i havent created a person either penguin.

im gonna try installing again...>_<

If you log in and it just goes back to the log in page, make sure you are logging in during the BETA opening times, otherwise you can't get in. If that fails, just uninstall and re-install it.

Anyway, can anyone tell me, when in the main open space (not inside a building, it's fine inside places), why it is so lagged? It usually freezes for about two minutes, then moves a little bit, then stops again. I was just wondering if it's as lagged for anyone else, or if it's just my computer.

How do you re-install the game?

I joined VMK after Beta and it seems some problems are more like delta and omega stuff, other letters to mess with my mind. It is there lurking but not comint up, you there, tap tap. Guess not.

I get the MSN thing where it has to shut down the program.
