What do you think is the best way to earn gold?

Blackjack (if you win of course). I did 5K in 4 hands.

Sailing of course, get a war galleon, go hunting near Padres/Outcast, port with nothing but gold and an able-bodied crew, you get more gold that way. :pirate6:

I so badly wanna get a war galleon, but just bought a war sloop, so my money is only around five grand now. War galleons are SO cool though, cause you can board phantoms and other ships with them, and they supply so much gold.

Sailing, even though im about 20 grand away from a war galleon, ill work my way up.

I say goin against dudes at kingshead it takes like 2 seconds to kill navy and eitc people and get like 12 gold each time

i say it is easier to get gold by sailing but i like card games and fighting skellys.

Yeah fighting skeletons and Davy's crew is a good alternative for sailing, they usually give 25-50 gold each.

Sailing with a full crew and a war galleon, phooh! Go out about ten times in a row near outcast/fuego/kingshead and youll be able to buy a war galleon!

I would say the colossuss flag ship is maybe the best, about three times and you have a full cargo. Also depends if you take treasure sense. Second time around I didn't take but one point in ts, when money later ends up maxed.

Padres has higher stakes for gambling and money be made fast if you play well and catch some of the hints npc's do etc.

Kings would also be the other option with 6 kills at a time or more.

btw with a good cannon you don't need a big ship for the colossuss.

id say kh the unit attack them and war galleon get the royals all 16

Wow....I've never been able to pull in $4K per load.

I voted for sailing because it's the only way I've ever made cash...comes in much slower than most people because I'm usually alone and have a hard time solo-boarding flags.

Blackjack is how id do it. What about quests????

Well, not all quests give gold, I didn't think bout that at the time.

Fighting against skelletons as well...

sailing. it brings in the most gold for me.(even though its onlt around 212 with full cargo. but lots of rep.

Sailing. Get a War Gal/ War Frigate and go pludering near Outcast. If you don't have a war ship, just join a good crew. I usually get around 800-1000 gold per trip, depending upon the crew I join.

Sailing is the best because sinking ships is so much fun! But I don't do too bad at poker either. I don't win as much as 4k or 5k at it or anything , my best so far is 458 gold coins for a full house I had. Not much to some but for me it was amazing! :piratear:

I make approximately 20k/hour on blackjack if I have a decent number of cheat cards.

I then find killing critters of all sizes/shapes and ranks to replenish my cheat card supply.

I've been sailing with some upper level friends and we've been taking out a galleon. I had just bought my galleon, so had no gold left. I now have over 20,000 in gold in just two days of work. Good crew plus good ship equals lots of money! Sailing for me! I'll be able to buy another frigate soon at that rate!

i think that the best ship for sailing is the war galleon, which i have, it holds 16 cargo so..................

Sailing is the most 'sure' way to make gold, as long as you can.
A. Sink enemy ships.
B. Make port before you sink

Its the most sure way because you will always get something when you port.
But the amount will vary, and the amount of time will vary a great deal.

How to get gold the fastest depends on your pirates level, and resources. If you have alot of cheat cards, and can get to padres, blackjack can fill your pockets quick (see Blackjack guide in cards forum).

If you have a Voodoo Staff, an hour of blasting the navy vets will usually get you a few grand gold too.

The only problem with sailing for gold is it takes too long.

That immediate gratification at the blackjack table.. oh yeah.

On a 'gold' per hour basis, playing cards (and being good at it) runs circles around sailing.

Black Jack only if you have enough cheat cards.

Ugh. I should have read it more carefully. The best way would be sailing - the fastest way is blackjack (I voted blackjack, but meant sailing.) FWIW, I didn't learn just how ridiculously easy it is to get a lot of gold very fast at the PDF blackjack tables, until AFTER I had my first two war frigates.

Maybe a better poll would be to have separate ones for sailing, lvl up grenades at KH, lvl up staff at KH, blackjack on PDF. Then perhaps separate series for things that don't work as well, like lvl up cutlass on KH or poker on PDF (with generous friend) or poker on PDF (without generous friends) or blackjack on port royal. One poll a week for each of them, as "Your most gold per hour at xxxxx: -100 to 0; 1 to 100; 101 to 1,000; 1,001 to 2,000; 2,001 to 3,000; 3,001 to 4,000; 4,001 to 5,000; 5,001 to 10,000; 10,001 or more."

I know I've never broken 4,000 per hour sailing. But I know for grenades and staff, I've broken 4k per hour on KH. Poker with friends, I've donated more than 10,000 per hour. Blackjack (recently) I made more than 15k/hr (but the 65k limit really gets in the way.)

Blackjack is the easiest way IMO without cheat cards.

I can make 250 gold in about 2 minutes of fighting just undead level 33 brigands.
Oh look I just got 38 gold in under 20 seconds.

I put sialing for best way but posted the fastest.

if u just got wither on voodoo staff, head to kingshead and go to the pack of veterans. Use wither over and over till you kill the pack. Repeat this and u will get a lot of treasure. happy hunting:pirate2::sign0200:
