Can't Land My Ships At Kingshead ???
 

Hello All. Having the strangest problem. I can't dock my ships at Kingshead, and ONLY Kingshead. I get within second of the drop anchor button coming up, and blam, disco, cut to report a bug page. (i've reported it, several times, but of course, no response yet...)

I tried all the other Islands this morning, and they seem just fine. I tried different servers, all Islands are still good, just not Kings.

Am I the only one, or is anyone else having a problem with this?

I"m at a loss here :)

I havnt had this problem, have you tried a different ship?

I've tried them all, I have the three war ships.

Silly question, but are you Basic or Unlimited membership? Kingshead is not available for Basic members.

I lost my connection with my full war frigate on 3 seperate occasions. All right before i was going to get the dock button. so now i just dump my cargo at cutthroat and then head over to kingshead. So for me the bug seemed to be when i had full cargo. nice huh?

I haven't gone back to see if is still an issue.

Not a silly question Tetley, I'm unlimited. And mlratto, i've gone with full cargo, and totally empty, just driving over from Padres. Disco every time.

Gonna give it another shot later, as on my end, there was a connectivity update on my comp. But it still makes no sense to me that it's just kingshead....

well...you could bum a ride form another boat from padres. LOL

But better yet i wish we would get the kingshead teleport quest!!! i get tired of seeing the greyed out teleport icon next to it on the map.

It would also be nice to be able to see where your friends currently are when clicking on them so you could teleport to them.

I think it's widespread; while not happening to me, my guild leader hinted he may get booted trying to dock at Kingshead... and sure enough he did. :) Seems to be affecting some users but I don't know what the common variable is.

There might be somekind of Kings bug that might have been developed....
I'm having a problem VERY similar at Padres, only I didn't get booted. When I tried to port, my ship went right through the island, I took some screenshots by the way lol. But when another crewmate tried, it worked just fine. It might have been because I was Capt of the ship.

I've sailed all the way into Port Royal before lol -- even hit the docks with the ship. I sailed back out and got the icon to dock. :)

Admiral, may have something there. If I'm not Driving, there's no problem. But If I'm capt, even with a crew, I can't land at at Kings. My crew can stay on, and if they're not too close to shore, I can tp back to them. If I get anywhere near the wheel though...

Frustrating, but glad it's not just me. Well, not really, it stinks for everyone, but at least I'm not going crazy :)

yes...every time it happened to me i was captaining the ship. come to think of it i was able to log back in one time teleport to one of my crew members (they waited for me) tried to dock the boat again and got disconnected again! logged back in and by this time they had docked my ship for me and i met them on the kingshead dock.

Problem was...i didn't get my loot!

was angry enough i went inside and laid waste to anything that moved with my staff. Scared the bejesus out of some noobs and made me feel just a bit better.:psmiley35:

So I still can't dock at Kingshead from any of my ships....so for giggles this morning, thought I'd try to swim there. Well, got to the same point where the "drop anchor" button would have popped up had I been on a ship, and blam, disco. LOL

Funny thing about swimming to kingshead, the waves are Really High :)

Prior to today, never had a problem.

Today, everytime I approach Kingshead and get to where the "anchor" would be displayed ive been getting kicked out of the game, etc.

Finally after about 6 attempts I successfully landed... not sure whats up.

You did get booted when we tried with me steering, if you remember.. We tried it one night with my ship, then the next day with yours..The swim was a brave try, and funny. Don't worry too much, I will drop everything to go to KH, any time you want, then you can teleport to me. MLMLMW.

Basil, I think that's cause I accidently backed into the wheel....or we were too close to dock. The swim was fun, but my arms are sore. :) And I'm gonna hold you to the open invite to tp to you whenever you're at kings, like you'd go without me anyways....

Still no response from TPTB.

Finally got a response from the big D...guess what they said....no really, guess....HA Yup, I need to update my drivers. ARGH!!

To top that off, I got booted trying to dock at Tormenta last night. Great...

Yep. This started happening to me after D's last big update. I didn't have a problem prior to that. I got the same response from tech support as the poster above; update your drivers. Still, there are days I can't port there no matter how hard I try and there are days I can without problems. It is irritating to say the least.

I haven't heard any problems from any of our group on this, but I have had a similar issue there on my first character. Once on the Island if I pull out a siege bomb, its almost a guarntee visit to the error page.

Even did it once and the entire server went down, not just kings, ( not really sure if its related or not to the server crash)

My other charaters I never have had that issue.

Do you have other characters, and tried going there with the same problem?

If you have updated your drivers, and still getting cuts etc. Maybe try dropping down your Hardware acceleration and turning off write combining in your display. This has helped alot of our guys who have been having graphic issues. First update your drivers if you haven't.

*crosses fingers* Since todays update and content add, Kingshead seems to have lifted it's ban on my fleet. :)

I had this issue with my account after my wife was playing and lost connection to the game while landing at Kingshead. I tried a number of things and the one tha seems to work well at this point is to delete all the files in the cache folder in the disney folder on program files. Each time She has had an issue if I delete the cache files that fixes the problems.

How do you turn down your hardware acceleration?

I don't have the problem with my current computer. My husband hasn't had a problem since the last update.

Ive had the same problem re docking on KH since the weapon update. i cant dock at KH on any of my pcs. in any server. I will even sometimes sail 2 ships simultaneolusly there in hopes that one will dock but BAM, disconnect. I also often have issues teleporting there. When i do actually make it there (can take up to 8 tries on 2 pcs) i will sometimes dc at the gate. If i land, i stay and camp out over night tho lol so i dont have to do it again the next day. I finally discovered i have a better chance at landing at KH if i approach from cuthroat. And of course ive reported this to disney repeatedly but no response.....

yep, same thing happens to me, i have took really everyship there is there and all the time it logs me off and comes up bug report

i know someone that had the same prob today but he didnt want to dock and he went through kings
