Are PIrate masters gettin the shaft?
 

OK, the game tells us after the boss battle to "finish mastering your pirate". So those that havent, do. That leaves us at lvl 40, no more notoriety to obtain, weapons still havent been fully mastered, so we slave away, watchin those numbers fly, without watchin our notoriety grow further. Now with the new weapon and "accessories" quests, both giving on avg of 100 notoriety each task, yet still "Mastered" at 40.

My question is, when the game expands, are we capped at 40? Will it open up and those of us that 'Fully Mastered" our pirates have less reps then those that havent? Once they do they should be at 41 or 42 right? Once again we get punished for doing what were told.....

Not to mention the extra health "bug" or whatnot....We gonna be punished on that one too? I mean my lvl 36 pirate is higher than my lvl 40! Thinkin out loud here but I would still like to know and I know I'm not the only one....:bookishfj7:

This is why I am in no hurry to make level 40. It's like my other game, there is nothing to do after level 100 there. Although it takes ALOT of time to get there. (couple years) I think when the game is updated more they will raise the cap. Being as it only takes alot of people maybe a month or 2 to make level 40... I don't see how anyone would play another chapter if you can't level up.

I think in June, there is supposed to be another update that adds another story chapter, and raise noteriety to 50 and weapons to 30.

Just adding my two cents in. I agree that level 40 people are getting shafted. But, when you complete the boss battle and it shows you your stats, notice it says "Current" Notoreity Level Cap: 40. Just my opinion, but I think it will change.

Sorry Angel. I don't really understand the problem. If you did hot have fun getting to 40 - why do it? Just to say you have a guy at Pirate Master? That is one reason, and a good reason.

This so called "getting the shaft" seems pointless to me. Yes, killing stumps for 40 reps each for hours and hours and totaling 30,000 notoriety to get to that next level is borrringgg. But knowing you have a Pirate Master is worth it, right?

In summer, POTCO is planning on bringing a massive update to POTCO. That probably includes new islands, new NPCs, new ships, even new quests, and probably a raised level cap.

growing on what davy said yes there is supposed to be a MASSIVE update in june with another black pearl type quest coming out more new islands possibly some new weapons, treasure, and teleportation quests and we do expect them to raise noto cap to 50 and all weapon caps to 30 :)

Wow, you people missed her point completely, what shes saying is: the level 40's who worked hard are being punished for our work.

People who haven't gotten their pirates to 40 have more health than us, and people who start when the new update comes out will have more rep than us. Do you not even see how unfair that is?

I could be level 41 right now, finishing the main quest, plus the weapons quests, but instead, the rep just goes to waist... while other people can actually take advantage of it.

Also, weapons cost cheaper now, so us level 40's once again, waisted money on something that noobs can buy very cheaply.

TY Altair. Like he said, weve reached the "end of the game" persay and what I was wanting to know is:

* Once you hit 40 and no longer gain reps, are the reps you get afterwards stored somewhere and will be added with the new updates?
* Before the cap, Pirates were hittin Notoriety 42, will they revert us to that?
* Will we be givin the notoriety for the weapon/tatt/jewelry quests as well?

Yes I mashed buttons to get my pirate where she is. It jsut urks me to waste it but it was a challange I wanted to do.

I think Disney caps us, to give other players a chance to catch up, not so mutch "elitism' that way

I believe the current cap is 45 (I read about it somewhere
maybe dev interview - forgot) but the notoriety meter in game
for pirate masters are not shown but replaced by that title logo.
My pirate is lvl 42 in DXD so i think we still get rep from
the latest quest, boss battle, or unmaxed weapon but
it's just not shown in game.

I'm guessing that this means that all the rep that is used on weapons and not noto after you reach 40 but not fully mastered yet, will also be put towards lvl Notoriety, meaning that it will be possible at some point to reach lvls beyond 40?

i have one quick question considering there are a few masters in here, im going to be lvl in a couple of weeks and was wondering if when u hit 40, and u still have weapons to level up can you still get xp for the weapons and it doesnt count towards your overall notoriety (because you obviously cant get any exp). Or can you not gain any experience period once you hit 40?

Well, if thats the case I will be extatic!!

You still get rep but only for the weapons that are not mastered yet, once you master all 8 skills, you don't get anymore rep. This rep doesn't count towards notoriety, although it might in the future. ;)

Ok. Got it now. So it is just reps. The posting by the guy who is actively watching his character is DxD nailed it on the head, his Pirate master is lvl 42. Plus with the HP fix - there is nothing to be sad about. When the next round of patches hits, all Pirate Masters will probably get a big surprise and eclipse all of us who are close but at at lvl 40 yet.

Still the weapons price change is another story that ALL peeps (including myself) was affected not JUST the lvl 40s.

It sounds like you would like some sort of "rep bank" to deposit all rep being earned now and when (if) the cap is raised, that rep could be withdrawn and applied to your character.

I agree that would be nice, but the odds of that happening are slim to none.
I also agree that mastered pirates are getting a raw deal.

At least they are working on granting all fully mastered pirates the additional Health/Hitpoints that the recent updates have granted the others.

Hopefully the additional notoriety/weapon reps are still there.. somewhere to be counted when they lift the cap.

Added: Checked the Disney XD page, and found my pirate is listed as level 42 there (just like someone elses id read about).

I noticed my fully mastered pirates health was alot higher, so they are workin on it. I read that they are trying to update them as they log in instead of as they lvl (since masters cant lvl anymore). Yes my master is a lvl 42 on DxD

they have fixed both mine anyways, was away for a bit due to a hospital stay,

and as of yesterday, both of mine had fully updated HP, so im happy they had a speedy fix for those who couldnt get updated by leveling.

I see they have updated the HP points. My friend that is lvl 40 has much more now. One problem I might see happening is what if you get to lvl 40 now? Do you not got to go past it like others are 42 on DxD? Seems like they are fixing one problem and causing another, but I won't complain. It is alot easier to fight enemies with the extra HP.

Maybe I am not getting all of this right in my mind lol. Maybe it's set up so when you reach 40 you always have weapons left to master?

i was mid 38 when i hit mastered status on all skills, my problem is finding the patience to do the story (at least 60K total worth) to even hit 40 as i cant rep otherwise.

so that character while not level 40, had the same issues as my level 40, but they both updated fine when i logged in.

as for the dxd thing, i wouldnt even know, its not a true level, as everyone registers as 40 in game anyways, so i dont understand what you mean by past it..no one is.

All pirates are capped at level 40 in the game. The reference to the 42 shown on DxD indicates a couple possibilities for us all to ponder. Does DxD reflect notoriety levels diffrently (ie DxD 42 = In Game 40 ), or does DxD reflect that our pirates continue to accumulate notoriety/rep even though the game does not recognize it at this point. I hope its the latter, in which case when updates come to extend pirate levels etc I also hope we'd get credit accordingly.


When your pirate hits Notoriety level 40, your pirate no longer 'reflects' any additional notoriety being gained. However you are still able to get Weapons reps, and carry on mastering all your weapons, and obtaining skill points, etc. Once a weapon is mastered, you no longer receive Notoriety reps or Weapon reps for that weapon (at least none are reflected).

ther no reason to keep playin w the the lvl 40 pirate u get nothin f ur efforts have one that is master in all weapon but gnades he lower that my 37 pirate . most of my freind have gone to potbs to play. hope they do something soon or i'm gone too.

What is "lower" than your 37 pirate? HPs? When/if you gain another grenade level you will likely get the HPS updated on your level 40 pirate.

As for saying there is no reason to keep playing, perhaps this is something that really is a matter of personal preference. When expected updates come along, it appears we could get credit for the additional notoriety/reps being earned, but there is no guarantee.
I have fun on my level 40 pirate still, and that is my overall goal.

Dont know about potbs, never heard of it..
(however those last 2 letters... hmmm humorous)

Been there on POTBS and dont that. Look where I still am. I didnt like the complexity of the game. I mean I want to have fun not get all technical!!

I have also been to POTBS, it is not that fun and very hard to learn. I will take POTC over that any day.

PS I am new to this online forum, i join because reading all of your input has been both entertaining and very informative.
