There's a glitch...
 

I was sailing with two of my guildies, working on the new quest for the Pirate Doll. We were shooting a Marauder and Man-o-war quite a ways out there, when suddenly an invisible ship shoots us with 5 explosive shots and we sink. In a War Frigate.

Happened to me too, I was in my War Galleon and the dang thing sunk out of nowhere, I was fuming when we sunk(BECAUSE NOTHING WAS THERE!!!) I told my guildie this sux. She agreed the ship we were firing at was miles away and we sunk out of nowhere... I guess it is a hit or miss type of glitch.

There's been a lot of reports of invisible ships

I haven't dealt with any that were invisible, but I did have one that wasn't fully rendered, didn't show up on my radar, and couldn't be shot. It shot me, of course, but none of the animations showed - I just saw my ship's health drop to nothing insanely fast.

The Navy is fighting back! We go all invisible on them, they want in on the action!

But seriously, ouch, that hurts. One more bug report to send!

Beware - new news announcement. The Navy have been in touch with the Romulans and purchased advanced cloak technology.

ROFL I guess the game is fighting back. They were getting tired of being killed by invis players so they've turned the tables now and decided they can glitch too.

OMG u guys didnt get the invisiglasses? It enables you to see the invisible ships.....PM SL

I'm not having that trouble, but I keep running into Man O respawn areas, and ships that seem to tesser, or kinda teleport right to me.

well yea that must stink but for instance me and some guildies were sialing and shooting 2 phatoms at once then out of no where with its broad sides faciing us respawned a lvl 30 reaper i am happy to say that we did sink the reaper and the 2 phants :)

I may have just gotten lucky, but today I had a couple spawn on me and they didn't shoot at me like they normally would have (or, at least, like I expected them to). Maybe that's something else that was "fixed"?

LOL!!! I wonder if I bribe the shipwrite he'll sell me one! Better up my gold pile to bribe him! Better yet - as a pirate maybe I can take one from the Navy!! :D

lol Ive had this glitch happen to me too on my war sloop and war galleon. atleast I only got hit with roundshot and not thunderbolt or explosives or something...

Usually getting hit with one or 2 max explosives will sink my war Frigate or War Galleon.

I've noticed some funny things about ships lately too, like when hitting a ship respawn, they turn on you all speedy gonzolos and start throwing fire at you and before you know it there right there on top of you.
