Andrew Bodash Quest...
Has anyone gotten to this quest?
It's part of the story line quests. Quote:
Did I miss something? |
This comes from the March 6 notes on the POTCO website:

I'm still on the part where you need to get supplies for your tattoo. I have no idea how to kill a crab or where the scorpions are. (I'm on the James Pigmey quest.)
|
Not sure about that one, but I'm trying to finish with Gibbs but can't get through any doors without them going black. I just got a new task to find Jack Sparrow and get a chess set. I have no idea where he is
|
Okay, duh, I just figured the notes were out of date since that was, oh, a month ago.
Now I can't go in buildings on Tortuga, just get a black screen and die. Which is something new since this morning. |
I've been getting that black screen going through doors for three days now.
As for scorpions: I found some when I was on Rumrunner's Isle. I was running through the woods beyond where the skeletons are, but not on the way to Tia Dalma, and scorpions were way back in there. Tia Dalma's path is way to the left, look for the next entrance to the woods way over to the right. (How's that for directions?) |

I found and killed the scorpions I needed, now I always die when I try to kill the giant crabs for the quest. I found 2 grouped together and I cannot beat them. I'm only level 4 though... |

Anyone else having issues with their ability to get a Quest? When I click Quest on any list I get nothing :( and need to leave that NPC. My Journal is completely blank atm. |
Yes, I am also unable to get new quests.
Also, the quests that I do have I cannot get turned in because the name of the person they came from has changed. I had a handul of "defeat a skeleton" tasks from different townsfolk, now that they are completed they all say to return to Carver. I cannot find Carver outside of any buildings and going inside gives me the black screen of death. In the ocean ships are driving right over the top of me. I can't board my Sloupe, I fall right through the floor but I can board my other two ships. Can't fire broadsides, no icon to do so. But I have grappling hooks! I was dragging a ship around behind me for a good long time until I finally managed to run it aground and it quit following me. |

In the ocean, I can only seem to board a ship if I'm on a dock. I have the broadsides icons, but nothing seems to happen. Now those grappling hooks sound interesting. Maybe I'll be givin' them a try next. Did ye get any credits for running the ship around? :pirate: - We be need the pirate smilie over here from the vmkf site. |
Arrgh, I haven't gained a single point of sailing experience because I can't fire me broadsides. I be feeling a wee bit frustrated and have been cursing the scurvy game.
|
Hmm .. I had some luck with pressin' esc while I was sailin' and then firing me cannons at the other ship. I had more luck this way than with me broadsides. Maybe I needed to be closer for the broadsides.
I wonder why I can seem to sail so much better on me WickedWench in vmk. Arg, back to lookin fer some loot. |

I'm also working on those crabs and scorpions right now. I found the doll with it's "special feature" kills the scorpions quite well while you just stand back and watch. Sure wish I had checked to make sure it was complete before going all the way back to Tortuga (I killed them on Port Royal) because you need five of the scorpions. The skeletons aren't so bad, they don't seem to want to engage you so just don't run too near them and they stay away for the most part.
If you haven't already, get a doll, it kills everything so much faster than a cutlass. I've had no luck killing the crabs, my cutlass doesn't even touch them and then I couldn't engage them at all so I'll try tomorrow. |
I'm at the same point on that quest too. Thanks for the tip about the doll. I have a doll, but haven't tried using it yet. How does the special feature work? Are the scorpions on the beach?
I figured out that you can't engage the crabs until you are up to their level. For instance, the crabs that are right near the dock in Tortuga are L4 or L5. There are two further down the beach, but since they gang up on me, I haven't been able to kill them both. When I was exploring around by using the map to jump to different islands, I discovered what appears to be crab island. If you think the crabs on Tortuga are big, just wait until you see some of those. For someone who has now developed a very strong disliking to crabs with this game, it felt like I landed in a nightmare. |
LOL! I har you on the crab nightmare. I've gone exploring too and found the treasure chest awaiting Will Turner's drop of blood.
Use the doll the same way you do your sword, with the mouse, you'll see if you're doing it right because the effect is immediate. Also, it levels up very quickly and is strong that the cutlass. I love that dang dolly! Also, you'll look really cute running around holding it out in front of you. Remember to go to your weapons panel, if you haven't already, and equip the doll first. |

Are all these quests named after a ficticious pirate in the game?

Isla Cangrejos
Is the island of GIANT crabs. Not only are they big but level nine and better. I'm headed over there now to try again if anyone wants to try. I have searched far and wide and this is the only place I've found the ones that say giant. has anyone found any that are a smaller level?
|
I think Orinda LeJeune is walking in front of the dock on Tortuga

The giant crabs are in the swamp on the left side of the docks on Tortuga. I got lucky and killed a level 10 with my flintlock. finished the quest and am now looking to maroon a navy sailor but have no idea how to do it.

The swamp was so hard to find!! lol
Killing the crabs was not the hard part for me, killed 2 at once without dying. |
