POTCO Test Server

Do you play on the POTCO Test Server? I do...

JackoBauer 04-08-2008 10:59 AM

Hm i play sometimes. Im playing first my Pirate on Open high and when i have finished this than i look on the test and make the quests. its very stupid that you need to play the pirate on test high. the same on toontown. i mean it gives much ppl who have finished the quests but ppl who have test access but dont can play so much and would try new things cant test it because they are to low for it :(.

How do people get to play on the test server?

Angel 04-22-2008 09:09 PM

You have to have a test account.

dangerousden 04-23-2008 12:29 PM

I have a test account, but only play on there once in a while. I really must get on there and level up my Lvl 13 pirate to try out the new updates

Is there a way to get an account?

Every now and then Disney open the test server to new accounts. Watch the website and apply quickly.

Not now. You have to wait until they say you can. If you were in beta, you can play it

Angel 04-25-2008 02:13 PM

Ive contacted them and they are not lookin for new testers at the moment.

PirateMarioJr 04-25-2008 02:15 PM

They'll let us know when they are

goldlover 04-27-2008 03:12 PM

Thanks for the info but where will it show it?

Who is testing

I have been in the in and outs of these things with testing, and have seen both sides. Guess what i am wondering, is where is the break down. Is it the testers not giving the feed back, or is it the other end not doing anything towards the feedback?

These updates we are getting have lots of bugs, and issues when they are coming out. Latest one, in one day you could see the undead bug finally got fixed, but the ship invulnerability created. Tattoos that couldn't be removed from inventory quests, to shortly after be followed by mothers day one time get tattoo's. Let alone some of this stuff not being mentioned I see, in pvp and such things. Some obviously have been ongoing things that are being worked at, like the flag ships sinking from fire or something.

Honestly I think a lot of problems stem from the Disney end - I've had a Test account on Toontown for years and have a Test account for POTCO. I know many other TT testers who also have POTCO test accounts and we all see the same thing - the reports get sent in, they fix some of it, a new bug happens, they fix that. They get it to a somewhat stable state and release it to open. The 'somewhat stable' means it's playable but still has a bunch of errors, glitches and bugs but they are on a timeline and it doesn't matter how many times we report stuff, they will release it.

Happens over and over and over on Toontown and is obviously happening here too.

Hopefully all who are playing on the Test server are reporting as much as they can so it can be fixed.

They send out invites also if you have had an account for long enought it seems.

Damn, I hate having have to re-roll characters... After I just hit lvl 30 too :P

Navigator98 07-07-2008 10:32 AM

I dont have access to test servers, i always wanted to have.
And asked POTCO to become one.
They said that they are not looking for new testers...

So i just play the normal game, because if i ever got access to that server, i needed to start from lv1, AGAIN!

Because now on the normal game i am lv34!
And finished Boss battle!

So actually i dont need access....

Joseph 09-04-2008 08:12 PM

No ive not got a test account yet

MacIronhawk 09-04-2008 11:43 PM

I was in beta two and my beta pirate was transfered to the test server.
I do play sometimes usually only to come on and report bugs.
When new things come out I come on to see them and experience it first.
It's fun having a test account.

Jack_Jack_Sparrow 09-04-2008 11:57 PM

Ya i just recieved an invitation from them about a week ago.

They send them to the oldest members.

Someone asked a similar question in the FAQ,

How do I get invited to play on the Test Server?
Test Server invitations are sent out to Unlimited Access members, based not only on their paid membership, but also on when the Unlimited Access account was created (invitations are sent out to those players who have been active members for the longest period of time). Your participation on the Test Server is entirely optional and your access to the Pirates of the Caribbean Online will not be affected if you choose not to participate. Should you ever choose to cancel your Unlimited Access subscription, your access to the Test Server will also be terminated.
