I blew holes in another players ship!
 

im not sure if this is a glitch or not but....I was shooting a players galleon with my broadsides, and it blew holes in their ship, and enabled them, like a target, no damage done but....WEIRD!

No, but you should have grapple-hooked them and boarded their ship! That would be fun.

LOL i think that was me cuz that happened to my galleon recently, was the ship the Fortune Eel and were u in a light sloop? i took no damage, but now i have a very holy ship

YES!!!!! I was working cannons off padres tonight, and mistakenly hit a "friendly", and it showed that I was damaging it like a navy or eitc ship. I said, "oops! and are you ok.." got no response though. Very strange!

i dunno..but someone was doing that my war galleon off port royal while i was having some fun earlier today.

i wouldnt call anything weird now days, after seeing so many bugs. disney calls em features i guess.

i dont recall an ironwall no lol..it was about 8 hours ago, i remember just sitting in port and watching everyone fire and amuse themselves, watching th holes (no damage though)

my ship was called the victory titan anyways, and i had about 2-3 sloops also firing at me..lol.

lol, ok, mine happened only like 3 hrs ago. and an ironwall snuck up from behind em and almost sank him.

Yes this is for ship PVP which is suppose to be coming soon not sure when though.

I saw this too and thought I was going crazy. I was shooting a friend's ship for fun and it looked like it was doing some real damage. My friend said his ship was actually being damaged (though maybe he was kidding.) I'd hate to be sunk by friendly fire! :mybadki6:

I dont believe i've received damage from any other pirate/player ships, but I know I hear the rumble, the contact of the cannon fire, and the ship will shake some.

You're right. I watched it closely and you hear the rumble and see debris and maybe holes in the sails. You also see parts of the ship light up red in the damage indicator but then go away. No actual damage is done. It is, however, very annoying!

i know :) some light sloop was firing at me the other day, and i was bored so fired back for a good 5 minutes, and i had his ship on fire, and looking like a ship does when its critically damaged (smoke and fire trails that would not go away and werent caused by firebrands) so yeah that was interesting..he got mad and ported after.

it started to happen after the Pearl Battle Boss update thing...........

It's fun at first, but when you're trying to get some leveling done, it becomes really annoying. All the ship rocking and smoke and fire can be really distracting. So if you're shooting at someone for fun, and they say cut it out, please, cut it out.

Same thing happened to me! I was shooting a guy's War Galleon with lightning, it made holes, showed up as a target, but no damage! LOL :laughks2:

I sank my friend once. It was funny it tried to manuver.

The same thing happened to me yesterday. I had just set sail and was trying to finish a quest so I could level up. And as I was sailing away someone started shooting a cannon at me so I turned my frigate around because sometimes a War Sloop sails around Port Royal or Tortuga. But no, it was a sloop and I think a galleon who continually shot at me. Ticked me off so I parked my frigate right between theirs and went from cannon to cannon blowing holes in their ships which to the eye their ships were on fire, lot of smoke, and you could see the ocean in the holes I left. I know the name of their ships and I could see between the smoke, one was a level 9 and the other a level 10. Level 10 got a little ticked off when I got a good bead with the cannon on him directly. But oh, well they started it. But I left after I got bored but here I was sailing with smoke trailing behind me all the way to Driftwood! By the time I got back I noticed a lot of the other ships had disappeared because they were shooting at everybody that came into range. It was just very annoying. Kani

I've done this several times- there's always some newb shooting at me while docked, I always give them a spoonful of flaming cannon balls to get them to cool it. When I shoot at them, their ship's health meter will show up just like enemy ships do, but no damage is taken. The funny thing is though that the ship WILL catch fire and smoke. As long as you continue with your ship, it will burn and smoke even though there isn't any damage.

Lol it happens all the time if you have a war galleon or war frigate. I had my war galleon at port at port royal eariler today and a light sloop started shooting at me because he thought my ship was so big it had to be an enemey ship. He freaked out and ran away when I fired a thunderbolt at him though.

The hull and sail damage bars do not go down from friendly fire, however the picture of the ship showing yellow/red damage areas to hull DO show up. I have to wonder if there is not a bug in the game where friendly fire does no damage, but weakens the hull parts. I had my entire hull in red from friendly fire and I had my Galleon sunk by one round of a ship that I normally crush. Its impossible to quantify though, because no numbers are shown.
