What things would you pay for?
 

It has been rumored that special items will cost real money in the game. If this is true, what items would you be willing to pay for?

As a non-paying member of Runescape, storage space is always a nice thing

Pay? Im just ecstatic that I can play at all without having to pay. I will concede that depending on how cool the items are, I may have to pony up for them. Dont count on it though, I'm cheap like that. :)

Well, based on the 12 who have voted so far it looks as if storage capacity and ships are the big winners. And if they make storage capacity a ship - then they satisfy the demand with one easy programming step.....cool

Now we just have to come up with names for our ships.

Same with Jolber, I'm gonna start out playing the free game for a while, and if I like it enough, then I'll pay for the whole game. But i might have to quit ToonTown if I do want to pay for POTC.

Same as Jolber and Ducky. I will start with my free account and see how much I like it and which things I might need to pay for.

It all depends on how it goes. But I'd definitely want a ship.

I would defenitely pay for the storage capacity.

I will probably pay, as long as the things are reasonable, and knowing disney, they will be. Considering toon town is only 10$ a month i think it will be fairly cheap. They have to get paid some how:)

don't we get a free account if we join toontown, or is it a temporairy free account

It's already going to cost enough, I really hope that they won't charge to play things in the game.

Well, I'm gonna play it without paying. If I don't like it I'll ask my parents if I can start paying for it.

I'll pay for it all. All it means is just adjusting my budget, less movies or silly stuff like that. A sacrifice I am willing to make :)

I'm starting to think that Disney will make it like Toontown. Where you can't do many things unless you pay for a member account.

Well, you have the free trail. So you can't really play forever. And when you do the free trial, you are limited to a lot of things in the game. When you dot he trial, you're not even like REALLY playing the game. O_o

I would imagine us paying for more crew space and exclusive abilities.

Well, it depends on how the paying system works. If it's a $20 a month thing, I won't do it. But if it's something like $5.00 for a better ship, then I'd consider it.

I think that this game is the only online game worth meh money.

Looks like they're going the way of Shot-online.
The game itself and 99% of the content is free but you hve to pay for special items like exp doublers etc.

Back on topic. I would pay for storage space, 'cause it's very handy. I'd also pay for playing locations as well, once I got to a pretty high level. I'm hoping we won't have to pay for a friends list, though I would be very happy with simply paying for an upgrade to it.

Crew capacity, eh... I would pay for it if I had a crew, but odds are that would never happen. (I prefer to be a high-ranking official in an existing, preferable famous crew. XD)

I voted for friend lists. I voted that becuase you cant play with good friends if you cant get to them easy :) But of course ships are nice too :)

Hmm, I do not like buying things online. I can't choose, and if I had to pay something, I'd leave quicker than without paying anything.

I just hate buying things for games that ARE NOT REAL.

Im just wondering if anyone knows forsure that this will be just a free game where you can pay for add ons like the ones mentioned in the poll. I was under the impression, that it would be like a free trial, and then you had to pay to play. Like a subscription as we do for TT or how it is for WOW, where you got a 14 day free trial and then you have to pay. I also dont know how they would enforce the fact, supposedly you have to be over 13 to play, if it was a free game over all.

I dont mean to ruffle any feathers or insult anyone who likes vmk or maple story, but if pirates is anything like those games, I will be so disappointed.

I am expecting high end graphics and amazing things, more along the line of WOW, and cant even understand that they would have a free game with things of that caliber. I think the game could be free for a certain amount of time, but I dont think that is the long term plan. I think once it gets up and running, a free trial period is what you will get, then you will have to pay, say after 10 days free, with limited access. Simlar to the 3 day free trial toontown gave. Or like WOW gave. But once they have you loving and addicted and wanting more..I think you are gonna have to subscribe in some form. I could be wrong, but that is what I am thinking.

still have not played VMK or MapleStory
yet, but the graphics here look a lot like
ToonTown's, which is fantastic. :)

There should be a flat rate (small, flat rate) to play and all add-ons are earned through game experience. Buying your way to the cool stuff is not the pirate way! The cool stuff must be plundered and pillaged and all sorts of other nasty, piraty things!!

Im definitly not paying for anything unless if the game makes a huge turns and becomes fun all of a sudden. Currently the beta is...lets just say "sucks". I believe that Disney may make it better although another thing im kinda worried about once its released is, lack of updates, look at toontown. We thought that estate gardening was very fun and addictive at first but maybe after about 2-4 weeks you couldn't even hardly extand to garden. I no longer play Toontown as it got boring because they didn't release enough things. I heard they recently came out with new trolley games but im seeing that being fun maybe for a week...please its only 4 or 5 minigames.

I don't want to pay for individual features, but I did vote for ships, weapon upgrades, and other (which would be clothes for me). I would prefer to pay a monthly subscription fee and have all features available. I don't know if there are any puzzle pirates out there, but thats what it's like for that game.
