How did Nick make the VMKForums and POTCForums?

First you have to get a hosting service. Then you have to buy the software that you want the board to use. In this case, he bought vBulletin. Which can be found at www.vbulletin.com

But a notice to everyone interested in vBulletin:

Seriously though, as Allowasas said, he uses a very expensive software called "vBulletin". He also has to pay for servers, and even the Arcade and Gallery! So, when you donate to the site, you're not paying for simply just a userpage or signature, you're paying for new features!

Never thought the Arcade and Gallery costed, I thought it was just the entire forum, sometimes skins (Yes skins do cost, I've seen vBulletin skins get a bit costy) and version downloads.. :rolleyes: Am I wrong.

The gallery costs the most. Since it takes over 400 megs on the VMKF server. Just a little *hint.*

Typically, you could pay $115 for one year of vBulletin, with a license for as long as you need it with $30 a year to get the upgrades. Or you can do the Leased Version. $80 for one year, and $80 every year after that.

With all the donations from the other site, he can afford it. I don't know about him being rich though.

No, I'm not rich, I rely on all the donations :)

Sometimes I kick in if there isn't enough money tho. But most of the time it's all donations based. As for this site, it hasn't got a donations scheme yet because its new so the costs of making the site have come from the vmkf and ttc pools and will be reimbursed when this site starts getting donations.

I'd not be guessing that he's super rich or anything. Because usually really rich people think that they have better thing to do than create websites. But Nick does get money back from paid subsriptions to TTC and VMKF.
