Do you think that ships should have insides?
 

I just thought about this. Wouldn't it be cool if your boats had interior, like the captain's room, the cannons, and the hull? Vote above and post below!

I voted yes. But my true feelings are that we should be able to have some ships BOARD our ships. They could have a new flag, that has 2 swords crossed and a skull. It would be a warning to us so that we would know if we get too close it will board us. And then of course enemies raiding our POH's and POT's(Player Owned Houses and Player Owned Towns). It would be sweet!!!! But not at random times, like there could be mini-games and such. :)

Yeah, it would be cool. As the game expands, they're going to need more than 3 ship-types. Maybe the new ships will be giant, and they'll make it so you need people inside to row? I don't think people would wanna do that, but maybe the game would row for you, as you command, and you could upgrade how many oars are in the water, the size (strength) of your rowers, etc.

I said yes (of course :)) Who wouldn't want to explore and hide inside their own ship?

YES!!!! and it would be cool if you could see the cargo you got

treasures we get so we could see them with out squinting

Yes, but I think there should be more than just 3 tupes of ships... maybe they should add Caravel - 7 cannons, 12 broadsides and Cutter - 1 cannon (but very fast ship) 6 broad sides as regular ships...

now THAT would be cool if there were other ships that could board our ships. that would be really fun and challenging. but i agree, it shouldn't be at random times. it'd have to be if you joined some sort of game where you knew you could expect that and you could prepare a good crew and all.

Yes, I think this would be a great idea, and it could replace the "houses" idea some people were thinking of. Pirates don't have houses XD

I agree that would be pretty awesome. I know a lot of times with my guild or friends when I go to their ships all the deck cannons are taken so its just me standing around. I think it would be awesome that you could run below deck and man a cannon that way as well.

I also agree with what was said before..we could all keep our "personal effects" such as clothes, jewerly, etc in the Cabin of our ships. So when you want to go change you could just go there to do so then go back ashore :)

You could just run onto your ship as a regular pirate and BAM! You change into you fancy coat and hat in just 10 seconds, without traveling to Tortuga, finding the shop, opening the door, finding the person, waiting for it to load... zzz...

That would actually be a cool idea. Before I played POTCO, I played a game called Puzzle Pirates and you could do that in that game.

Ships that posed a danger of boarding yours would be sweet... Jolly Roger did do that in the beginning... A lower room full of cannons would be sweet as well, but something like a Captain's room wouldn't be so great. As long as they were chambers, and not rooms that you had to enter, the idea is great.

Um, if you had your clothes in your ship wouldn't you expect to loose them like you loose the cargo when you sink?

well, an interior would be great, but I would rather see Disney let us customize our ships, like being able to choose what kind of cannons and broadsides we had, and color of sails, and figureheads.:pirate6:

I had sent in a suggestion on the main website about this. I think they should make all flag ships have insides and more flag ships in the sea. Of course they would have to make their levels a bit easier so everyone could take on a flag ship.

The reason I say that is because think about it the larger the ship the more rooms to search for treasures. Then when you have a quest to get pirate lore pages, or spices and what not you can search the barrels on board the ship instead of sailing around taking out fifteen boats hoping your galleons cargo doesn't fill and only get five out of the fifteen items.

It would make raiding much more fun, it would make the lag a bit less as well. The more area's you have on a server the less lag will happen. Such as if they were to space out Tortuga and Port Royal that'd help.

The lag only happens when a bunch of ships end up in one area firing at each other. So making more flag ships and making an inside to them would help create more area so that the battling would not be happening everywhere on the same spot. Being inside would not affect the outside in other words.

Yeah, Brigs would be nice... and a boat like the HMS Victory, or the boat that Beckett used in the last POTC movie.

i think there should be a walk the plank button u pick someone whos on ur ship and he/she is booted off into the ocean or closest island and they cant tp to you until u make port

That would rock, especially the War Brigand. If they would make such a ship, it would be cool to have some big enemy ships in the game other than the current enemy war ships to challenge your Brigand. Still, 35 broadsides would own pretty much any ship.
I agree a ship like the Endeavor that Beckett used would be cool too, maybe even as an enemy as well.

This would be great if there was content that supported it. There is no reason to a player could/should go below deck. If there was a benifit of doing so, other wise it is a waste of space/time.

It would make sailing a lot more interesting!

A walk the plank button would've been awesome when random poeple could still board your ship if they tp to you. You know, those people who follow you around for HOURS asking to be your friend, be in your crew, or in your guild....

Yeah it would be cool if we could, cause ye can like use the ship as a secret hiding place and a bunch of other cool stuff. What would be cool is if you could add furniture to the interior of the ship rofl. Also Egore.. heh that's a very simple glitch that works on War frigates and frigates, but idk about light frigates.. i never tried.

Actually, a friend of mine said someone that is close with the releases said that they are planning to do that. But.. they said it's not gonna be that soon bc of the new releases they are gonna be making.

A lot of the new releases are going to be "not so soon." I love the game but I heard so much about like customization for your character back during Beta and now it's relatively new I think it came out about four months ago roughly?

Also at the same point they announced the new clothing they also said you can customize your ship. That is still in the works too. So I do believe that they will do this it just will take some time. I think they have the most trouble adding new elements such as areas to go to. Which makes the most sense since you have to design the level for the character to be standing on, the elements around the character then linking each spot to a doorway. It's a lot of work. I'm sure they are working on it at the moment it is just going to take time for it to end up in game.

I don't really care because then that would be another thing our games would have to load and it would make the game slower...

But it would probably be cool... :)

Loading time can be fixed easily. Games with a massive amount of stuff with in it have different ways of making the loading faster and the game just as fast too.

Lag with a game such as this is not created from the amount of NPC's or towns and enemies in the game, it is the amount of players on that server at that time. So creating an inside to a ship would help bring the lag down. If you think about it if someone was inside of a ship instead of on the outside while boarding, then there are a few users who are not considered to be on the ocean at that time they are with in the ship. That will free up so lag if another ship were to sail by. It would be the same idea if they added new areas to each island to make them larger and much more equipped for an adventuring pirate. There would be much more space to the island that the amount of users on a given server won't matter much anymore.

So at the end of the day creating an inside to the ships as long as it is done correctly would not hurt the game in speed at all.

That would be awsome! Being able to go into the captins cabin and under deck. It would also be cool if when you go under deck, you could see your cargo (if you have any).

I will admit, this would be very cool, but also cheating, in a way. If you wanted to go to a island with many hard to beat ships, and you are just completely invincable, that would kinda ruin the fun.

Yea agreed, I have a thread where I suggested to be sort of invincible you would fly false colors. Such as flying the Royal navy flags so they don't attack you, that way if all your doing is sailing to a point or trying to find a specific ship you won't be hurt until you hoist the skull and cross bones.

Going below deck though you should not be allowed to sail unless someone is sailing for you. One of your crew for instance.

Since getting to your ship is basicaly 'teleporting' to another place - the problem with insides is that they would need to be part of the ship design that you could just 'walk' into - and not an actual door or seperate area (cause that would 'teleport' you off your ship... thats why all stores and buildings on land, when you glitch them - look like they are in space :) )

An open room with maybe a NPC player on each ship which you could ask to show you your stats (Cargo for example) might work as long as you didn't actually 'enter' another room (part of the back deck maybe?) :D

I would love to have the inside of a ship part of the game, and I agree also about being able to see your haul and play poker and drink too.

That would be soooo cool! If some person boarded your ship from privateer team, just hide in your cabin! And think of alllll the juicy glitches that you could find!

With an inside you could fit mor crew. Perhaps the crew would have the honor of fireing the broadsides. :)

Also you would hold more cargo and get more money each run.
