i prefer the frigate for crews but gals are great for sailing alone

Even though all my ships are frigates, I still say galleon since I rarely sail with a crew.

I dont know...ive tried all three (less the war variants) and I have to say that the sloops are my favorite for going solo (best loot to damage ratio, easiest to avoid damage but not much cargo) and the Frigate is best for a crew of course. I play best with a fast ship, as I am pretty good at tacking and maneuvering. Took down a level 29 War Galleon with a Sloop...it took a LONG time, but I stayed on his stern the whole time.

I like the War Frigates and War Galleons the best. The Galleons are fast and maneuverable, but the War Frigates are nice for running my guild. Gotta keep those members happy and full of gold!

I love the front cannons on frigates. They're wonderful to take out a few damage as you're sailing towards a ship. I always get so sad when the guild takes out a galleon instead. :[

I much prefer my War Frigate when sailing with crew. I may try a War Sloop for going solo tho. And for the times when you need to get to an island fast and cannot TP there.

I prefer the frigates when sailing with a high-level crew. Without a high-level crew I prefer a galleon... also much easier for me when I'm hitting ships alone.

I prefer my War Galleon. It's fast enough, turns well and has great broadsides/cargo. I can fill the holds solo and barely take any damage. I did just buy a War Frigate to complete my fleet but rarely use it.

My fleet consists (or it will) of a Light Sloop, a War Sloop, and a War Frigate. I'll use a War Galleon only if ship PvP (or CvC I guess) gets re-implemented. I prefer the Sloops for sailing alone, though I do crew up of course. If I get two good cannon buds on, we may just devastate Rojer in my Light Sloop with Furies or bolts.

I prefer frigates because they can hold the most people and have the most firepower. Very useful when your a GM :) They are also the fastest next to the sloop, but a sloop doesn't hold enough people, cargo, and it's not really highly armored.

First character I liked the War Frigate, to choose one though it would be the War Galleon. The War Galleon has more broadsides, and i consider more fire power. It also has more cargo space if you are ever after money.

What it comes down to is what you are doing, and as stated above, war frigate for crews. With cannons that can take down sails soon as lightning unlocks, it really only matters on what you like.

Yeah there always comes a day, lets try that, and I spent a half a hour one time taking down a jug with a light galleon.

I used to love the War Frigate. Now I cant remember the last time I took one out. The top gins rock on the War Galleon!!!

sloops are best at avoiding attacks.. and sail solo mostly it works best for me.

For me, it's all about carrying more cargo, though the speed is a downer especially when a Spanish or French Undead War Sloop chases you.

luv the Gal for bank, but have to admit i prefer the steer of frigate with front cannon

war galleons are actually better than war frigates its weird.

It all depends on what your doing at the time plundering with a crew Frigate, plunder with maybe one other person or yourself for more gold Galleon, getting from point A to point B as fast as you can with minimum attack Sloop.

I personally though love the Galleon, so much plunder :-)

I sail with a crew most of the time so i like frigates a lot but on those lonely days when nobodys online I sail my galleon

Im a sloop person. If I want plunder I just ride on somone else's big ship. Getting gold for me has never been a issue. I have a light sloop, war sloop and war frigate.

Hmm, they all have their high points. I like my sloops for traveling fast to far away places and shooting anything down on the way there. Galleons are good when I'm flying solo and just want to go looking for a fight. But I definitely like Frigates the most - the front cannons make me happy. :lol:

I have only ever sailed a Sloop as I'm pretty much a loner, but I love the look of the Frigates.

Ehh, I love the frigate, purely because of the front cannons, however, that only works if you have a crew.
Without a crew I prefer the galleon.

Galleon - more cargo, a little more speed than frigates, and I'm comfortable with 'em ;)
I do like the front-cannons on the frigates, though.

Although I prefer the War Frigate overall, I still like the War Galleon and War Sloop. It all depends on what you plan to do.

-The War Frigate can take more of a beating for close combat and the front cannons are very nice to have
-The War Galleon has more storage and broadsides but in my opinion not recommended for close battles as the hull gives out faster
-The War Sloop will zip you around faster and still has decent firepower and hull

I waited until I had the 60,000 and purchased the War Frigate first as I figured it would be the biggest bang for the buck. Then I purchased the War Sloop and last but by far not least the War Galleon. I use all three of them on a regular basis. My guild likes the cannon arrangement of the Frigate but loves the large hauls with the Galleon.

What type of ship do I prefer? Overall? Galleon. For plunder? Galleon. For realism? Galleon. For ease of driving? Galleon. For apparent speed (much more important than actual measured speed)? Galleon. For maneuverability in normal combat? Galleon. For Svs? Sloop. (*) For anything other than SvS? Galleon. For it being pleasant to drive? Galleon. Easy to get to the steering wheel? Galleon. For the cargo space? Galleon. For actually looking like a pirate-era sailing ship? Galleon. For having cool looking sails? Galleon. For looking huge and monstrous and just plain awesome? Galleon.

(*) Note: Sailing a galleon in SvS is the PiratesOnline equivalent of wearing a "Kick Me" sign on the seat of your pants.

Im a War Frigate man myself - but I owned one pretty early in the life of the game I guess and its come to represent my life in the... the 'Vagrant Executioner' will continue to sail until ,y demise (which after paying for more time is a while away yet :D )

My favorite is sloops cause there fast

Probably the Frigate for the crew and cannons on deck + has a cool look, the Galleon is good for the many broadsides and cargo.

Mine is the Frigate. Great for gold runs with the guild.
