Eh, at least they seem to be working hard since the last test release notes.

Marry The Night 12-10-2011 03:03 AM

Light-class vessels can now be customized, too. Not included in the release notes though.

*sigh* Light Sloops will now have the chance to be even more dominant in SvS. -_-

Ice_Storm 12-10-2011 05:09 AM

Aye, good to see the developers working so much harder on test.

But, why can't that last forever?

And what is that...

PvP fixes? I'm sure they did some re-balancing behind the scenes, too...

See, why can't Disney keep up this work ethic? I wouldn't have to complain as much about them not providing equal content for equal subscription fee.

Hmm... I just checked on test with 2 different light ships and they are still "unfit".

(I tried it with Light Sloop and Light Galleon, on Cuba and Port Royal)

(Most people probably can upgrade them, but this is what is showing on mine)

Question for the testers (don't remember if I already asked this or no): Is the damage of special broadsides (fury, etc.) influenced by cannon skill points like round shot is? Or no?

Glitch/Bug

leo 12-10-2011 09:21 PM

I don't know how more obvious this can get...

Rigging is not having any effect on skills at all. The skill boosts does not add time weather you test by timing the skill of the obvious way of looking at skill points.

Please make sure you continue reporting Bugs on test as often as you can!

BDusel 12-10-2011 09:27 PM

This bug SHOULD be known by now, particularly since its been that way with Sea Charts as well. The Treasure Sense ones DO effect the bonuses, but not the ones like Rumrunners that hit Full Sail, Come About, etc.

Are you sure that POTC didn't just make a typo?

With a 3+ boost on Full Sail (with a sea chart) the skill lasts 23 seconds (22 seconds below, it's hard getting a screen at the very beginning).

Sometimes, it is a typo.

Most of the other times, it's a game glitch (Dodge doesn't even work! Well, on Live it still doesn't...)

Trust me when I say there are many skills that are given incorrect or no stat duration or damage bonuses even though you have a weapon/item that's supposed to increase its ability.

Test all the abilities to make sure they're working because maybe it only is affected by certain weapons that boost the skill by +2 and it doesn't work

while...

abilities affected by certain weapons that boost the skill by +3 gives the correct increase.

Code could be broken in different directions.

Investigate it.

Take of your rumrunners sea chart, do the same thing and take the same screenshot. 5 points full sail and take cover have always been 22 or 23 seconds. for any skill, the time written is lower by a couple of seconds therefore you are not getting a boost at all with those 3 points.

Another way you can test it. Retrain sailing skills. Only put one point on your full sail then add your sea chart (rumrunners should make this 4 points). Then test it how long it lasts. Then take off your chart and add 3 points to full sail and you will see a big difference. IT'S NOT A TYPO...

Agreed and should of been fixed. I get 10 points with rumrunners chart(and speed 2 rigging) but lets disregard charts for a moment because they have been around since long ago and good use due to navigation(only thing that works). With the boosts not working, It makes the whole rigging upgrade upgrade worthless... Customization is not full as a content because a big part has no effect other than changing the design of the sails. Needs to be fixed before it comes to live because it will be a disappointing result if the upgrades fail to work.

Please mates, Keep sending bug reports by email and in the game. Send bug reports for bugs/glitches that exist on live as well so the game can get better and fulfill its potential.

Three bugs that are still being ignored are these and they have been around for yearS.

1. Leadership Bug... makes other sailing skills fizzle if skills are used directly after recharged with the help of leadership
-Therefore Leadership is doing the opposite of helping and the Black pearl quest is giving a non properly working skill

2. Boarding permission fail...If a captain closes ships but still has some people on ship, anyone can TP to those people except directly to the captain.
-Therefore Boarding permission ONLY works for going to the captain directly and has no effect on the crew.

3. Swift Foot... Allows you to drink as many swift potions as you want and makes you run supper fast and jump high.(causes some lag to the server)
-This no longer needs an explanation since probably everyone knows how to do it.
(I have a video on YT if you want to see what i mean)

Has anyone checked for the Cannon Defense DC bug? I refuse to play CD on live until that bug is fixed.

BDusel 12-10-2011 10:41 PM

For example, the Rumrunner's Chart gives +3 to Full Sail. I've got one point in it regularly, and even with it supposedly being up to Level 4 with that boost, I only get 12 seconds of Full Sail.

Did some more tests. With Mutineer's Charm, I get 23 seconds still. Then with a ram, I only get 22 seconds. So in total, I got a 1 second boost. lol.

And I don't feel like spending 10k gold at the moment, so didn't do another test.

That second was probably a second that took to move the mouse pointer to the timer. It usually gives 22 or 23 without it, but that's charts... Ok that was something that slid away a long ago but Ship customization is something that pirates online players dreamed of for months/years. It would be disappointing if it came with bugs that limit the customization/upgrade.

That must have been a glitch for you. It won't let me customize my light vessels.

Aye ye owe me the cost of all the light class ships! I failed to be able to upgrade them on test at all.

Please post some screens of the upgraded light ships.

For this glitch, I have sent a video demonstrating how to accomplish this glitch.

I want this fixed ASAP as well, and continue on sending these e-mails in to them each day.

I did the same and you can't upgrade light vessels. I think they are unfit on purpose and it should remain that way. One more reason basics to subscribe and really wouldn't make sense the small little things having that many abilities.
