The Riddler Game

Basically, somebody solves a riddle and that person gets to say the riddle and it goes on and on and on. I'll start us off.

There are two paths. A man wants to walk to Funville but if he chooses the wrong path, he goes to Lavaland. There are two men in between the paths: one that always tells the truth, and one that only lies. You may only ask one question to both of them. What does the man have to ask?

Stolph 12-07-2011 08:39 PM

"Can you breathe?"

If the answer is no...

To the other person: "Where's funville?"

If the answer is yes...

To the other person: "Where's Lavaland?"

There are three men. One is poor and has some wheat in his hand. The other is rich with fancy clothing. And the third one is rich, but he appears to have dirty clothing, no hat.

Which is the successful pirate?

He asks one of the men what the other man would say if he asked him which path to take. If the man he's speaking to is the one that lies, he'll lie about what the other man would say. If the man he's speaking to is the one that tells the truth, he'll say what the other man will say, though it'll be a lie.

Either way, the man should go the opposite way to wherever the man he speaks to says the other man will point him.

Hope that was understandable. :P

I think Jack meant that whoever answers the riddle correctly will post the next one. So, if I'm right, we should wait for confirmation from the riddle-giver to post the next riddle.

Both of you have right answers, but Stolph posted first so your turn mate. :)

EDIT: Actually, Stolph is wrong. You're only allowed ONE question for them as I stated in my riddle. Pixie, you do your riddle.

Stolph 12-09-2011 07:55 AM

One question to each, or to both?

Okay, here's my riddle.

A famous magician claims that he can tell the score of any football game before it even starts. Many people think he's psychic and possesses supernatural abilities. How is it that he can be accurate about the score 99 percent of the time?

Paul is 20 years old in 1980, but only 15 years old in 1985. How is this possible?

Have fun.
