What weapons would YOU like to see added to POTCO
Title about sums it up. i'd like to see a voodoo MASK
|
erm bayonet i guess oh and an AK-47 but i doubt that will be added :D
|
Well, all I ask for is something that the basic access members can use!
|
The mask would make you do something like this... :dragonball014: and this :dragonball002: maybe this, just for good measure :smiley-channel.de_g
|
Ax, better cutlass after u get to a certain level, bayonet, rifle
|
I personally believe the first weapon you get in the game after making a pirate should be a stick, like a little tree branch.
I would love to go up to enemies and start hitting them with my little stick LOL |
like a club?
|
Nah, like a stick. XD
|
I have a few.
1. I would like to see Brawling. Certain enemies should be able to brawl, and so should we. 2. I would love to see shotguns added. That would be very nice. Bayonets can be attached to the 3. I think we should be able to only grapple the flagships instead of sink then grapple. We also should be able to swim out to flagships and board them from the sea - for each enemy killed on the ship, we get 50 gold. With the brawling weapon, we should be able to kick rocks, dirt, or water at our enemies, as well as knee, headbutt, punch, uppercut, slap, and kick the enemies. |

That would be unrealistic :) We also need to have a 'Pirate Island' where players have their little houses. When you log out, your pirate goes to your pirate's house. Your house can hold: 1,000 extra cannon ammo, 500 extra grenade ammo, 1,000 extra Pistol ammo, 250 extra Dagger ammo, and 2 extra ships. You must teleport back to your house to get to your 'secret stash'.
|
would you rather me use hollow coconuts?
|
better would be to be able to use guns on every enemy, not just the undead. I hate tring to take down vetrens in basic access with only a sword.
|

I'd like to see muskets. That's appropriate for the time period, and we even see many Navy soldiers carrying them (though they never shoot).
Sorry that the Basic members feel at a bit of a disadvantage with some things. Guess that's what you get with a FREE game. If no one ever had to pay for anything, we wouldn't have the game at all. |
An addition possibly to the houses:
We get house level ups when we select level up house for..(# of gold) Also, A House Brawl game should be added to PvP. Players try to destroy eachother's houses. When you upgrade, little weapons may appear on the house to protect the new enemy: Intruders. |
how bout an oar.... didnt some one get hit with one in every one of the movies ...
.... would be a lot of fun smacking each other in the face with a great big paddle... yup the weapon i would add is an old wooden oar later ... waiting to do |
i want to see brawling and the attacks could be like combos and then the number attacks (12345678) could be like special moves like face punch sidekick bla bla but i doubt this will go in cutting someone with a cutlass is onething hitting them with your fist is another thing dusney will most likely no approve
another idea is the optin to pick up stuff (a rock, chair, log, branch, bone) and attack people with it :D |

Anyways, I would like to see a "secret hideaway" for us, along with some new weapons like brawling and such. Maybe we could have a broadsword... wait, that's midevil, not piratey. Ok, er... an urn? I wanna throw a vase at someone! XD A christmas special, Snowballs! Seriously though. Brawling Voodoo Intellect (Not a visible weapon, Tia teaches you the full ways of voodoo and you can cast more powerful spells without anything) Tri-barrel cannon (We have to have the Flying Dutchman cannon's, they're just plain awesome.) |
Yep I want front broadsides!
|
I looked this up online, and have a pretty good idea of the weapons commonly used by pirates which would be awesome to add:
1) Bow and Arrows, the last bow you receive being a crossbow. 2) Axes, since they as common as cutlasses when boarding ships. Muskets and the rest of those weapons can be classified as guns, basically. They could probably be added to that same weapon class. |
the ability to make un-wanted pirates on your ship...ah.....walk the plank...:) and lasers! XD

I would like to see guild houses. Each guild has their own house to hang around and level up as more people join, sink ships, complete quests etc.
|
I love the brawling idea. PVP bar fights, anyone? It could also be incorporated into the quest system, like going to rough someone up in order to complete a step in a quest; maybe it could be an alternative to bribing! Like instead of bribing someone, you could threaten them, and if that doesn't work, brawl with them a bit.
|
i upgraded my account not too long ago i i still think we should get to use guns on humans.
|
Disney = that will never happen
Would like to see a way for guild members to put their money together (guild account) |

Thats too Puzzle Pirate-ish or runescape-ish. |
I think you should be able to have two daggers, one in each hand. I also like the guild hangout idea, and pirate house idea =]
|

these aren't all weapons but they are features I would like to see...
pooling guild resources improved broadsides (firebrand/lightning/fury) or at least restructure the current points so 5 points on a broadside gives you firebrand (assuming you have the cannon ability and a supply of them) pooling crew quests have crew/guild mates show up as a different color in the compass for easier tracking |
What i wanted to be added are the tri-cannons that youe saw in the second movie they would own espically on frigates and i think that as you leavel up your cannoning you should be able to purchaes your own personal cannon that can like fire farther or herer cannon balls and they shoudl be the ones that apper wehn you use a cannon on a ship insted of the standard cannons on the ship
|
They should add the tri cannons from the movies and personl skill for ship class liek ramming speed should only be for frigates
|
you said that twice :P
but yeah i agree, upgradable cannons in the future, and it makes more sense to have a triple barrel like the dutchman, or at least a way of upgrading broadsides to triple barreled, i sure would use them more :) since they are the stationary heavy guns, and the crew usable guns are more like typical swivel guns in pirate lore, much lighter and supposedly used mainly to clear the decks with grape shot before boarding. what id like to see is different guns, like a blunderbuss (sort of a shotgun type musket) and the standard musket of course :) cuz while i like the pistol..id like to see some variation in the different guns, same as the swords like a rapier/smallsword, quick, finesse, thrusting techniques a sabre broadsword, slow but heavy hitting, as they were supposedly used by pirates but not as popular as a cutlass because of their weight and length. i like what someone mentioned a few pages ago too, about an ax, as boarding axes were popular weapons during that time, used as to cut ropes to disable sails and to defend or attack against boarders/boardees mostly. anyways theres tons of good reading at the library or online...very fascinating :) and interesting learning about all sort of weapons they used back then. molten iron filled cannonballs, iron bars lashed together with rope fired out of cannons that when they struck objects, they fell apart, skewering wood and unlucky crew..yikes...who said games dont make u learn anything.. |
BIG fan of the Davy Jones crew- would love to see some of those wicked looking weapons they used in the game. And maybe a whip. Yeah. That's the ticket.
|
Guys I'm sorry but a house is a terrible idea. Firstly it wouldent fit with the whole pirate thing, because a pirates house is at sea. And secondly, how in the WORLD would they find space to make every house in the game for each player.
Unless you can only see the house, in which case what's the point anyway. |
maybe have "shipwreck cove", and inside is a "meeting room" for each guild.
|
I like the brawling idea, which gave root in my mind to another idea-the ability to fight dirty, which would especially be cool when you're brawling. To throw mud in your enemy's face or to throw a pig seems very pirate like. A rum bottle would go great with this ability as well: you could have a rum meter. When you bap your enemy on the head, you lose rum with a little rum if you're short on bottles. You could also drink in the midlle of battle to recover health.
In all reality, the realistic pirate weapons are all taken. Anything else descends to a level of crazy, alcohol-induced, and all too fun bafoonery. Not that there is a problem with that. I don't think fist fighting is a good idea because quite frankly you won't approach anyone with a Cutlass in a boxer's stance. |

Weapons-wise, I'd like to see some sort of brawling/fisticuffs, as well as the ability to hold/use two weapons at once (sword/dagger, sword/gun, etc).
Impromptu weapon would be great. Who doesn't want to smack someone with an oar or throw a chair? If I were just submitting one idea, though, it would be for "Rum Bottle." Basically, a blunt, melee weapon, but there are special moves to 1) Smash it over someone's head, 2) Swig from it to heal yourself, 3) Down the thing and fly into a drunken frenzy where you damage everything and everyone around you, and maybe even 4) Breathe fire. Rather than houses, I'd prefer to see some way to incorporate the ships more strongly (like customizing them, crewing them with "NPC" hirelings, etc). I also think it would be cool to have some sort of animal-related skill that would let you have one or more pets. The world of PotC is sorely lacking in parrots and monkeys. |
I like and agree with the above post.
|
i would like to see hand to hand fights instead of using weapons all the time..
i wuld also like axes and different ypes and guns and different types of swords.. i personally think they shuld add feastures to the staff because when u by the new staff it still looks the same and considering its a big weapon they shuld change the look of it.. =] |
blunderbuster u know the pirates shotgun lol
|
how about a bull whip, or the cloak of invisabilty(haha) i still think that a navy coat (idea from another post) would be cool for a little espionage tactics
|
guild accounts
Quote:
realistically that would be a motherload of planning and programming, as all of these great ideas are... real question is are there enough paying members to sustain the development beyond what the have on thier plate now sidebar - the guild hang out sounds like a good idea for planning and r&r between quests and skill building, if a physical location isn't available perhaps they could code in a "guild dock" mode with added features while in that mode:blah::blah::blah::blah: ok ya i just find itt annoying when im chatting with mates or guildies when ppl just blurt in or attack u and im sure everyone knows who we are talking about, bless it |
I woud like for them to add bow and arrows.
|
Voodoo cutlass, voodoo pistol, voodoo dagger. Dagger pistol, dagger-cutlass, dagger-voodoo staff, dagger-voodoo doll. Bayonet, voodoo bayonet, cutlass bayonet, voodoo staff bayonet, pistol bayonet.
Throwable jars of dirt. Attack Monkeys. Squirt guns with acid. trained sea turtle stampede. |
I had the idea of attack monkies before coming to this page, but it was in the last post! Anyway, it was the idea of an immortal companion like Barbossa's simian Jack going along with ya in PvP, all undead-ish and the such. A parrot, a dog like the one Teague had, a pig like the ones in Tortuga, a cat for fembots, and perhaps a puppet for voodoo fanatics; all would be pretty darn cool.
On second thought, I am against the idea of brawling. No self-respecting, enemy non-respecting, dirty, ragged, villainous pirate would rise to the level of using their fists or any other body part for battle. Dirty is the way to go. As well, a skill to be gained that should already be present at the start if anything shouldn't be implemented. Eh. |
Since Singapore is 1) a part of Jack's legend (though they've never actually said who what where when and why, and 2) Sao Feng kinda rocks hard...
I vote for the addition of Singapore, Chinese ships like the Empress, and Sao Feng's army to fight. And maybe some kind of quest from Sao Feng for some new weapon. |
a musket with a bouynet
|
A boomerang. <~~~ Couldn't think of anything else. LOL!
|
yea some sort of musket w/ bayonet, boorerang would be cool, be able to change cloths and just hang out in the sterncastle (area with the door that dont open on the ships)and mebbe a pocker table back there so u and frineds can have a pvate pokjer game without the bots, mebbe raise a white flag so ships wont shoot at you if u jsut want to island hop, and mebbe after u capture a flagship, it adds to ur ships, but when it sinks u cant get it back, mebbe fury/fire/bolt broadsides, throw in an atomic cannonball for good measure and then u got urself some fun updates :dancetl6:
|
Quote:
I agree with you! |
I'd like to see rifles and navy swords (like Norrington has in POTC). The navy swords would be the next step up from the steel cutlass.
|
That be cool if we got use something like davy jones weapons they should add new french/spanish clothes too. Or i like to see a new voddo skill were u summon a animal like swarm
or maybe throwing other pirates that would be hilarious LOL i would just throw a level 2 in front of a stump douht that will happen |
So far, I like these 3 ideas..
Improved broadsides (Thunderbolt and Firebrand). But should be only available after you have mastered sailing and cannons, also restricted to level 40 and available via quest, with no skill points needed. Bareknuckle fighting/Brawling would be nice. Jab, uppercut, roundhouse could be melee combos and something like a flurry could be a skill. Could add some passives to reduce stun effects even further on top of the grenade passive as well as a passive to increase health like dolls passive to add voodoo. Musket. It would allow both ranged and melee, since bayonet would be attached. As for a shotgun, it would be a musket skill since during this era of the world, it was referred to as buck and ball loading. A common use, was with the Brown Bess musket. It was a smooth bore musket with a diameter much like a 10 guage shotgun. When employing the buck and ball method, which when loading the barrel, would be: gunpowder, patch (just a small peice of cloth), then a musket ball, then 3 to 6 buckshot (smaller pellets). That is what would consist of a shotgun round. |
i still ike the atomic cannonball lol
|
Whip
I would like to see a whip
Attacks can be snap, lash, choke, slash and pummel. |
A Whip! Then we could go Indiana Jones style.
|
I always wanted a bow and arrow. A whip would be nice too..
|
Its likely been said a few times, but we should be able to fight hand to hand.
Many a time, i'd just prefer punching a navy guy out, instead of killing the poor misguided red coat. -------------------------------------------------------------- http://pirates.teamofx.us/sigs/1.png |
ok hows this, sneakign up behind skellies and taking them apart lol, walk up to one take its head off and trow it at him lol
|
M16
Grenade Launcher Combat Knife Hang Glider Pistol (an upgraded 4 barrel one) Night vision Goggles and a tooth pick, just a simple tooth pick...:laughks2::laughks2: |
tommahawks(pirates used em)
musket(farther shooting and zoom capability) wouldnt be fun shoot at gypys sittin on a buildin in back padres? |
the lil hand cannon "mini pirate" had in AWE...
|
We're pirates, not Indiana Jones lol
|
I want to have sort of like a cavalry, where you can capture a horse from somewhere, and have a sword with new moves that only works with the horse.
|
it would be nice if they had
Gernade launcher, (Marty has one...) Musket, punching, A new quest ONLY for basics (Hey there should be atleast one good thing bout being basic, And a davy jones quest. |
I think Boarding Axe's should be one, I'd love to use an axe, and musket.
However that Pirates Code thing has to go! The Navy had shot at me during Beta now they don't anymore, but seriously what is the point of the gun if you can't use it on the Navy. Now if you made it that their outfits make it harder for the bullets to do a lot of damage to them, that would at least be some sort of reasonable explanation to not use a gun on them. I mean the three movies pretty much spelled out how many times that the code is more of guidelines that rules? Now you log on to the game and they are like hardcore rules lol. Anyway, I think that their should be a level up cap (meaning a push to maybe 30) for all weapons and some new weapons to use. New skills can be added also in reaction to this so that all characters do not end up being the same in the end. |
Here's my list...
-Musket -4-barrel pistol -5-barrel pistol -6-barrel pistol -7-barrel pistol -Duel Daggers -Bow & Arrow -Martial Arts -46-BARREL PISTOL! |
ok we are PIRATES not the miltary (although a machine gun would be nice) anyway! id like to see brawl come to the game but it wont bc its disney disney is not gonna let you punch the guy in front of you
|
Quote:
|
A brawling skill wouldn't mean much anyway, when there are weapon's like a dagger, sword, pistol, or grenades out. Because of weapons like that, I don't think it is very reasonable.
|
Bow and arrow would be awsome
|
Bayonet and your own hands! haha :)
|
i think we should be able to take on a enemy bare fisted as well and get skill points just like other weapons
but we also need 3 more ships to buy say next one be 80k gold and 100k and 120k being grand daddy of them all |
I think that fist fighting would be great!
|
I would really love to be able to fire broadsides that match my cannonfire capabilities. It's perfectly fine for Phantom ships to fire broadsides of Thunderbolts at me. On the other hand, that would make many of us darn near unstoppable, so it seems like an unlikely change. :laughks2:
Like others, I think brawling is an excellent idea. Many of the special moves already hint towards hand-to-hand combat anyway. They might as well go all out. However, as far as what kind of damage is done by this...I guess brawling should just be made to be a fast attack, like the dagger, since it's physical impact probably shouldn't be comparable to explosives and magic. I had a couple of other ideas for weapons, but now I'm drawing a blank. I'll probably edit this later. |
Should there be any new weapons there should be some sort of special advantages to it, and nearly none anyone can think of have just that. It's a painful stiflement, but this area is one of the last needing any improvement I think.
|
More islands! Where is shipwreck cove! and the Turkish prison! Isle Cruses and Isle de Muerta!
Going to these places could open up new weapons, such as axes, spears, muskets. Anything really. |
Muskets would be a nice additions. They should be longer range than the pistols, but take a very long time to load. Animations of showing the person load the charge, the ball, ram it all down, . . . etc would be excellent.
Special longer range cannon for ship customization. These heavier cannon can be used to shoot at ships further out or perhaps be used for shore bombardment (it would be nice to shoot at forts and have them shoot back). Downsides would be that they either load more slowly or take 2-3 crewmen to operate (I'd like the latter). |

I was on the test server the other day, dancin' a "repair jig". I was thinking, "Man, they gotta change the animation to something else, like a hammering avatar." With that, I've thought things through and come up with a suggestion for the next weapon. The hammer.
This could easily go a different route like a new engineering skill (like the sailing skill). Since the topic of this thread is new weapons, I'm discussing the hammer. Unike the other weapons that have gone before it, the hammer is also a very handy tool. So in addtion to bone crunching attacks (perhaps a bonus against skeletons) it can be used to repair (heal) ships, build new structures, attack structures, and build ships. Ship repair: This skill is available around level 3-5. This skill requires the purchase of ship repair supplies from the shipyards. Each time the avatar swings the hammer a varying number of ship hit points is repaired. As more skill is allocated, the character is able to repair more per swing. Building new structures: There has been a lot of interest in having players be able to build guildhalls, homes, stores (perhaps shipyards/dry docks that will tie into shipbuilding/customization), forts, etc . . . . Supplies can be bought at the local lumberjack or perhaps Stumps could drop lumber/building material. Attacking structures: What goes up, must come down. This tool/weapon is also handy at breaking down structures (although I'd like to have seige charges employeed as a faster method of building destruction. I'd like the building of structures to be tied into holding territory addition to the current English vs. French PVP. Ship Building/customization: With the addition of player built shipyards comes player built ships. As the character gains more experience with the hammer, they are able to unlock building various classes of ships (light class available early, war class available at higher levels). They can also unlock various modules/improvements that can be built into these new ships, making them unique from the generic models available at the NPC shipyards. -Marc |
more we want more lol blunder buster , musket
|
or like a voodoostaff, cutlass, gun put together maybe or the fastest machine gun a mg 42 for a good killin lol
|
i want spear, a whip,(no, not indiana jones style, though i love the jones movies.) and a new grenade launcher(as next upgrade from grenade pouch, maybe altogether new weapon that uses up grenade ammo) I think that would be cool.:piratear:
|
A poop flinging monkey? A poop dropping parrot? Some sort of hairy dog of which breed League can't think of as of now? (Was in movie.) Animals'd be cool.
|
These are the true weapons Pirates used nice link go check it out
