Still showing online after crashing??
 

I got the message "your internet connection has been unexpectedly broken" so I quit the game and logged back on. I was sailing at the time. When I got to the login screen, the character I was playing before showed as "already online" and I can't get back into the game with her. I've tried logging out and back in, and disconnecting from the internet altogether, but to no avail. Having someone else teleport to the character to get the ship back to port doesn't work either, they can't join the character. Does anyone have a clue how I can fix this? TIA!

this is a known issue i believe the way to fix it is to disconnect u connection to the internet (resstart u computer)

I'm having the same exact problem right now. The connection to the server was interrupted (I do believe it was something on their end) hours and hours ago, and it still says my pirate is already online. I sent a bug report and talked to live chat support, and they sent my info to the techs. I've tried restarting, creating a new pirate, and friends of mine have tried to message me and find my pirate, all to no avail. I do believe we're stuck waiting until the next time they perform maintenance, and kick everyone off in the process.

This happened to my second pirate a couple weeks ago. He spent two days being "Already Online" before PotCO did their maintenance. Fortunately, I had another pirate to play; but, still, it was very frustrating.

well sumtimes it will be stuck until they reset the server it happened to me a month ago and u wont be able to log on at all

Thanks for the replies, guys. It looks like I'm stuck alright. Oh well, it gives me a chance to do the whole low level thing again... Hopefully the next maintenance will get me my pirate back. Thanks again!

I once had a problem similar to this. I crashed then I couldn't get back on my ship. I clicked board but it wouldn't board. I couldn't sell it OR repair it. I had to start a new character.

Just send a message to PotCO or restart your computer. Fixes it every time.

no it doesnt when it happened to me i restarted 4 times and POTCO techs told me i had to wait they were of no help

Grr, I am still stuck and it's driving me crazy. I want to play! You would think that they could easily knock a pirate off the server so you can continue playing. Jeeze.

Restarting your computer does absolutely no good if your pirate is trapped in the game due to a server malfunction. The problem lies with PotCO, not with your system.

I thought the exact same thing, sam42. My pirate was gone over a weekend, too, and all Live Chat could tell me was that the issue would be patched at some future date. Come Monday morning, however, he was back and rarin' to go blast something.

I keep getting that "your internet connection has been unexpectedly broken" message everytime I try to drop anchor at any island or if I am about to be transported to jail. Tech support hasn't had any answer for it. Makes it impossible to get to any island I don't have a totem for unless a friend is there already. and if I am on somebody elses ship and get booted it locks their ship up until I reboot and finally connect again.

I don't have that bug at all, I don't have that many bugs atm, but my bugs drive me crazy lol.

the day before yesterday my connectiong was gettin dc from POTCO alot i dunno why though and its been 2 weeks since techs have done anything to the game

Well, they say they are working hard on fixing/finishing the Black Pearl Quest, so I guess we'll have to be patient. Also, they say they are working on the new updates for POTCO, that will be out sometime this month.

Well, I became stuck tonight but I had no warning. I have shut down my computer, unplugged my modem, even unplugged the computer but still "I am online" playing. I was just standing there talking to a few in my guild and I noticed that my guild chat was no longer blue but white (thought bubbles). I could move around but they weren't moving nor chatting so I finally did all the above to no avail. I finally submitted a bug report to POTCO. How come live chat shuts down so early? Don't they have a second shift or something. I do work during the daytime. At least I got to play for about a couple of hours. Geez, this is annoying. I have no way to contact my guild and let them know. And since you can't give out web addresses or this forum address during the game how are you supposed to contact anyone? Wonder how long this will last? Thanks for letting me vent. Kani

This happens often. I would send in a bug report tonight. Usually it clears up with a maintenance update. If you still can't get on tomorrow, get on live support so they can help :)

I came home for lunch today and went online and it seems to have resolved itself for now. We will see tonight when I go online. I should have picked up there was a problem when my crew and I went sailing and took down a flagship. I clicked to board and everyone went across but me. I was frozen and could not move so when they came back and I told them what was happening. They told me to reboot the computer but I said no, just take me back to port and see if that would resolve the problem. Well, it did for maybe 10 minutes because we gathered to talk and see what we wanted to do and that is when it happened as I explained above. I have heard of this before just from being on the forum board but it has never happened to me before. I wish there was a place for guilds, friends, pirates and such could communicate with each other without getting banned for giving out a website. And I did turn in a bug report last night. I told them what had happened and since you will be fixing this to please fix my Cuba teleportation that seems to have turned itself off also. So we will see how long it will take them to fix that. Last night while sailing one of my guild mates logged off for dinner and his pirate stayed on the boat. After we docked he was still stuck on the boat. We live in the same town so I called him and he could not log back in because it said he was already online.

To make matters worse the other person who owned the boat could not sail it nor fix it, and on top of that flipped out and reported me and my guild mate for "glitching the game" Problem is this guy is also in the guild and since we have a absent guild master we can’t expel him. I even explained to him that it was a known issue but he wouldn’t listen.. Some people..
