Splendid artwork, sigs, wallpapers, in-game leadership and help learning the game, active Roleplayers and events.

Yea... we've decided to see if we can go about using xfire. It uses up a hell of a lot less resources than AIM while the game is open. If you don't have it, you can DL it at xfire.com
It's a messenger program actually meant for gamers while gaming... it's an awesome program, you can even form chat rooms and such during gaming, etc. It would work in favor.

*edit* We're also working on finalizing the positions and the amount of players to each position... which should be released shortly.

xfire is the better of the two programs for gamers. It has a file transfer program, chat rooms, voice chat and has you approve who your friends are. It also takes up less system resources and has no pop-up ads.

First Mate (1) – Overseas the Quartermaster. Reports to Captain
Quartermaster (1) – Disciplinarian, Delegates duties. Reports to Captain. Ex. Gibbs, Bo'sun
Boatswain (2) – Officer. Reports to Quartermaster. Ex. Koehler
Buccaneer (3) – Boatswain Assistant. Sailor. Reports to their Boatswain. Hoists the ropes and runs the ship. Ex. Cotton
Cabin boy/girl – Accepted into the Crew after he/she has proven loyal. Hoists the ropes and runs the ship. Ex. Pintel and Ragetti
Swabbie – Recruit. Ex. Norrington.

Rank can only be earned by the following criteria: activity, skill and maturity. One can be promoted in rank only via election, by ranking members. For example, only Captains can vote for First Mates. Only Captains and FMs can vote for Quartermaster. Only Captains, FMs and Quartermaster can vote for Boatswains. Etc. Available positions per ship are specified in parentheses ( ).


Positions
Barter – Strictly trades goods for the Crew
Carpenter – Repairs and maintains the ship
Cook – Cooks the turkey legs!
Cooper – Builds barrels and other useful goods for the Crew.
Entertainer – Music, comedy, etc. Entertains the Crew.
Master Gunner – Organizes cannon attacks. Gets to yell “Fiiirrrrrrrrree!” a lot.
Powder Monkey – Gunner.
Sailing Master – Navigator. Officer. Buc and up
Surgeon – Healer.

Positions are granted to players of any status/rank. There is no limit to how many players can hold each position. For example, each ship can have 10 Powder Monkeys, 10 Barters, 5 Coopers, etc. One member can hold multiple positions. For example, Jack S. can be a Barter, Cooper and Powder Monkey. Will T. can be a Cook, Powder Monkey, Entertainer and Artist.


Ranks and Positions are subject to change according to relevance to the game. We will update these as needed.

What is the difference between a crew and a guild? I would like to join and I will try the xfire. My newest pirate is Elizabeth Seahawk

A crew is one ship. A guild is typically 2 or more crews together making up a guild.

Stumpy wasn't working (too many)... and since they're most likely, or just not going to be approving names until Launch (bc it's a waste of theire time, given all of the bugs, crash problems, resets etc) I've now made a new char name and I will be: AngelDarkhara Aaaah, well. We only have met a player or two in game so far... the game is bugged badly- and the Guild issues are quite horrific...actually... making the guild is bugged... crews need to be rebuilt upon every sign in which we can only keep sending in as known issues. eeek.

crews are Short time strategies, they say this on potco site (or beta site), that's why it resets everytime you log in.
