problem: How do i get grenades?
 

I just hit lvl 20 and got the quest for grenades unlock and went to jack sparrow. After talking to him, he said something about going to the Port Royal Docks to pick up his weeks supply and get some of my own.

But then the grenade unlock quest disappers from the quests list and id on't know where to go / who to talk to.

So i went to port royal and tried to talk to every guy around the docks.. no luck.


What am i supposed to do?

I seem to remember having to talk to the guy in the gun shop over by where Will Turner is.

Figured he might be the guy.. i went there but he has nothing for me. Can't buy them either as i don't have an 'explosive' skill.

And there's nothing in your journal? I'm sure you've already tried going back to sparrow. Try launching your ship from PR, and return to port, incase you were supposed to smuggle something.

just tried all that. Jack sparrow ain't there anymore and got nothing to smuggle.

that aint right, id try to get ahold of the POTC crew and see if they can fix it....good luck though, i sometimes think they completely ignore bug reports, so who knows if they'll respond to something like that.

hmm thats odd the gunsmith should not say sorry i have nothing for u because he is a store to buy cannons, bullets, and grenades

Are you a member bc you have to be a member to use them

well i dont think u can get noto lvl 20 as a basic access

You can only get to level 10 in basic access, which means no grenades.

No, I am level 12 basic access.
Anyway, grenades are members only at notoriety level 20.

ya point is there is no way a basic can even reach noto lvl 20

Is there a chance you accidently dropped it?

You can't drop Weapon Quests, nor Story Quests.

If they constantly fight guards sailing etc, could possibly get u there

You can't drop major quests(I think grenades is a major one)

Actually once you've moxed out your skills in basic you can't gain not anymore. The only exception is to crew up and sink high level stuff. And then...you only gain like 10% or the normal %60 exp. So...it's technically possible....but so insane no one would really ever do it.

Well, when you get the grenade quest, you have to search the kingshead crates and barrels. Try searching them and see if it picks it up. I just finished mine.

Did anybody else get the same message over and over the whole quest, something about a squirrel? (that's all I can remember). The whole quest, whether I went to Jack or the Gunsmith, I got the same dialog.

lol I dont remember anything about a squirrel, I guess I don't pay attention too much :p

Jack was tellin you about a squirrel and nades. I dont remember the story, just remember the bombing joke.

I sent a bug report. Within an hour, they sent me an e-mail back once.

Just search the barrels/crates, and see if you pick something up.

I turned 20 the other day and didn't even get the qust to talk to Jack Sparrow.
Tech support will get back to me.

Not sure if this was already mentioned im to drunk to read everything. But I found it useful to switch servers after getting all the stuff from barrels / crates i could. Then you can search the easy ones again. Also there is a 1 crate outside of kingshead on the dock that you can get.

lol yea ^_^ and this seems to be a potco problem considering now 2 people have this problem...

I'm glad I already got my grenades! That would have been a pain.

I have not even been able to recieve the quest yet, i contacted pirates staff and they said they are working on it, and EVERYONE since the update has not been able to get it or finish it, yet 6 of my friends who JUST turned level 20 yesterday already have it, and when i turned 20 on friday i could not get it. I am level 22, almost 23 and i NEED my grenades.

So are you saying for the people that are now turning 20, it's been fixed? But the people that turned 20 during the bug, still can't? Aww that really stinks :(

I am not sure if its just certain people who are experiencing the bug, or if there was a bug and we just happened to fall in it, its really upsetting me though because i would like to get my grenades before i get the voodoo staff, lol.

If anyone came up with a solution im willing to try any. Ive tried-

-Talking to jack sparrow
-Talking to the gun guy on port
-Searching barrels at kingshead
-Relogging
-Redownloading the game
-Contacting live support (lot of thelp they did) *sarcasm*
-Switching servers
-opening my weapons and clicking on the grenade
-Leveling to the next level

And none of these have worked.

Yeah, I can't get grenades either. I spoke to Sparrow, but then the quest vanished off my journal too.

Grrrr........

I had the same problem but the gun shop guy would at least talk to me. I kept getting Jack Sparrow's initial dialog every time I got a new part of the quest. Eventualy I got it done and all is well. Try looking up the first part of this quest and see if you get those "item aquired" messages. True story...lol.

Looks as if this bug is fixed... I didn't unlock nades at 20, but when I logged in a few minutes ago, I had the long-awaited "Visit Jack Sparrow" in my journal.

Seems to be working fine so far. Off to Kingshead with me....
