Join a Great Guild - August 18, 2011

Savvy Pirates know a Guild is their closest ally.
Your trusted Guild mates will always have your back, no matter how grave the danger or difficult the challenge. Whether it’s teleporting to you in the nick of time during battle, or helping you level up your weapon skills, Guild mates are an essential part of a Pirate’s life!

All Pirates can join a Guild. To create a Guild, you must have Unlimited Access.
For more details on creating or joining a Guild, please see our Players Guide.

Here are some basics for new Pirates (and good reminders for ye old salty dogs!):

Guild Master

  • A Guild Master can invite other Pirates to join the Guild, remove any current Guild members, and promote Guild members to various Guild Ranks.
  • The Guild Master can also dissolve the Guild at any given time.

Guild Ranks
  • Officer - can invite Pirates to join a Guild and remove Pirates from the Guild.
  • Currently there is a limit of removing only 5 Pirates from a Guild per day.
  • Veteran - can only invite Pirates to join the Guild.

Guild-wide Notifications

  • All Guild members will receive notifications when a Pirate joins or leave the Guild. All Guild members will also be notified if an Officer or the Guild Master has removed a Pirate from the Guild. Remember, you can only see Guild-wide notifications if you are logged into the game.

The Guild Officers and Veterans can continue leading the Guild if the Guild Master chooses to leave. Since Officers cannot perform all the functions and duties of a Guild Master, it is better to re-form the Guild under a new Guild Master. Keep in mind, Guild members must first leave the old Guild in order to join a new Guild.

IMPORTANT: Remember never to ask for or give your personal information to anyone in the game or online, including members of your Guild. This includes your Account ID, Password, phone number, e-mail or home address. It's just not safe and a Pirate’s safety is always top priority, savvy?

Ok, now THIS is a fail by D. Ive know well enough that when you start, they go through this thing at the beginning when you start, and this is no help to the higher lvl pirates.

HammyTheSquirrel 08-19-2011 12:04 AM

I think that one was a little more worth while than the previous one... still useful for level twenty pirates. :)

Jamesvsthekraken 08-19-2011 12:11 AM

I think Disney is either stalling for a massive update to test coming this month or early next, or they don't have anything to add next. :bookishfj7: :piratewheelgo2:

Davy_Mcwrecker 08-19-2011 12:11 AM

See guys? I told ya, With all the new basic access players, Disney is just gonna show 'em everything they CAN'T get.

Captain Del 08-19-2011 12:15 AM

Don't see this as a message that was orientated for pirates such as us, who have been here long enough to know this sort of knowledge is agiven; see it was something meant to help newer pirates, which we should appreciate considering how much Disney wants to make new pirates comfortable.

Captain Sharktooth 08-19-2011 12:18 AM

These were the kinds of threads POTCO used to post back in the old days when there were no updates for long periods of time. I'm used to seeing these by now, hopefully this doesn't mean lack of updates. :P

Panos 08-19-2011 12:37 AM

I think it's just a way of promoting Unlimited Access. Besides, if any new pirate needed any information, they could read the player guide.

The Skirata Clan 08-19-2011 01:59 AM

Did POTCO traveled back in time like the people from LOST? I feel like I am watching a Dharma Initiative guide video.

:laughks2::laughks2::laughks2: Exactly!

Ice_Storm 08-19-2011 05:52 AM

I think they are running out of ideas to post as News for their website.

Maybe trying to stall until they can release their next big update.

But, it seems they do recycle a lot of old material......

Copy & Paste FTW!!!! :laughks2:

Seriously, I don't mind a rehash of "New to POTCO" information, but.....
wouldn't this have been better given out at the BEGINNING of summer break?

Slasher 08-19-2011 03:40 PM

Yeah, I agree with Luckie. I thought it was like some massive amount of new players. No, it seems D just kinda wants to release this. I know its really good for new players, but I really hope they aren't stalling with this...

They actually have access to most of the guild features. But this is also good for new players (like Del said) and will get help them find their way through the game more easily. And... you never know... it could cut down on the amount of low levels who think they know everything and are completely wrong... :skull-crossbones3:

Dark_Pixie 08-28-2011 05:01 PM

Ahem. I believe all this is mentioned in the Players' Guide of the site. They don't really need to put it on the front page, do they? :P Cunning way of advertising UA.

I agree...epic fail on waiting till the school starts. Not just for kids/teens...There are college students take the summer off too.

Ahoy Ice-Storm,

Ty for telling us what "Officer" and "Veteran" means, now I know that I'm a "Veteran" in Cuddlefish Crew before, thats mean I can invite Pirates to the guild. Does anyone know about this: "Redeem Invitation" or "Create Invitation"? I just go to the "Guild" section (when you open up your "F" Tab-Bottom). Just want to clear some thoughts...
