haha i had no idea that u couldnt share your myspace info to someone on potco. i messaged someone in my guild with it. i guess they have an auto logger and run scans though it to find things like myspace links. 2 days after sharing my myspace i got banned for 3 days. i take it there is nothing i can do but wait. i guess i should have really read the TOS haha.

That's exactly what they do mate, they watch the chat logs and pick anything that breaks the EULA you agreed to. Can't share anything about your personal life including stuff like that, then there's some wierd things you can get banned for too. ^^

As anyone who plays on other Disney sites will confirm, they have specific words which are flagged. When those words are triggered, the chat logs are brought to the attention of The Powers That Be at Disney.

haha for sure. anyone else know of any crazy rules that you can be banned for? maybe something one wouldn't expect to be banned for? anyone have a banned word or content list besides the non specific one on the agreement?

None I've seen here, but there's been lots of cases at Toontown. Someone at TT even got banned for saying "I don't like the game, I don't know why I play anymore." O.o

As long as all your words stay 'family friendly', you dont give out any personal information, and you follow the house rules, you will be ok. Remember this game is for 10+, so the same rules apply to all regardless of age :)

i wonder why i didnt get banned a few weeks ago this one guy kept steering my ship while i was cannoning i used some choice words for him:laughks2:

when I want myspace stuff from people in the game I direct them here, get them to make an account, post something, then I pm them my info. :) I like to use choice words that sound like my real words....it has become an art form.

I have had some ppl consistantly try to get personal info from me. Its like they are trying to get me banned. My reply to them is "you cannot share personal info in game". Their reply is usually.. yeah, but where do you live.. how old are you?! :laughks2:

About those ship thieves...I'm campaigning to get us a Walk the Plank option for occasions like that . Write to POC and request it if you like the idea. The more people that request it, the more likely we are to get it. :)

Wow, they can ban you?

but if you are the capt/owner of the ship... you can take back the wheel if someone on your crew takes it. All you have to do is go up to the wheel and hit your shift key... and its all yours again.

Some might say that it's more fun to swear at people.

It's up to the user to behave. If you read the liscence agreement, you would know that you can't sue them.

It's not a permanent ban the first time. The first couple times are a 72 hour ban, and repeat offense can result in a perma-ban.

oh ok plus i doubt ill win a lawsuit with disney almost no one does unless they were seriously injured on disney property

i would love to make some of my friends walk the plank..:degen::laughks2: but theres nothing worse then some one grabbing the wheel of my war frig when i start to fire at the Jugger .. and then we all go for a swim..lol.... yeah walking the plank would be a fun way to stop that

yeah when people dont follow me rules if they are on my friends list i boot them or kick them from guild

Yep i got the 72 hour ban the night before the game went live for giving my email addy to a fellow guild member so we could put together a meeting for our guild after the game was open since everything started fresh.... needless to say i now use ventrilo for such things lol

I've never thought about it in that direction, people wanna try someone to get banned. But its something to look out for.

Share personal info is different for every person. I have no problem with telling a friend how old i am and where i live. But i think Disney uses the same rule for everybody, young and old. They try to guarantee safe gameplay for the kids. We may not forget many young childres play this game and you never know who you are talking to. That lovely looking nice pirate can be a person with bad intensions.

isnt there a feature to kick the person driving u ship off the helm so the owner can sail bc my friend did it to me he was afk and told me to sail his ship when he came back i just backed up and he was sailing without me leaving

they should make 18+ servers. Obviously you wont be able to make sure everyone is of age in a certain server, but you could state that the server is for 18 and older players and so the rules are different for stuff like this.


I also like the "walk the plank" idea. where do i sign? :)
