Top 5 Cutlass Skills?
If you could only have 5 skills maxed out what would they be? I have all my points saved but don't want to waste them on a "useless" skill. I'm looking to deal out max damage. Thanks in advance!
wait so u want to have 5 5* skills and thats it..
I think the best skill in cutlass is blade storm
hmm another good ones are the combo attacks they can take out as much as 1000+ health from an enemy if compleated all the way
I was thinking maybe 5 on Bladestorm and Sweep and the rest on the Cleave/Flourish/Stab Combo Attacks. What do you guys think?
Make sure you put 5 points in Blade Storm and Sweep. For the other points, put them into the sword manuevers.
Endurance...the more hit points the better.
Five points on Bladestorm. Five points on sweep.
Five points on Thrust. Five points on Flourish. and Five points on Cleave. |
This is how I am going to do it. This is tentative and I've only been looking at this tree for a few days.
(FYI: I spec this weapon under the assumption that it will be the "tankish" utility weapon, for Melee DPS I use Dagger.) I get Parry for the obvious mitigation associated with tanking. Parry and Blocking in one skill, Amazing! Endurance is garbage because the HP bonus is so low, if it were substantially more I would consider it. I don't put much stock into the Combo attacks because Finesse in the Dagger tree allows one to rely more on Combat Attacks like Brawl and Blade Storm. Additionally, Brawl has an additional mitigation feature, in that it disables your opponent temporarily. Taunt is just something you use to get control of the situation and it shouldn't be underestimated. There are other weapons capable of lowering an NPCs Attack Power and Accuracy, so 1 is the best I can justify at this time. The Jury is still out as far as I know about the optimal allocation of points in Combo Attacks which yields the highest dps, so I'm not really concerned about what I put in those just now. (If anyone has crunched the numbers on that I would appreciate a link to that thread, I haven't seen one.) --Combo Attacks-- (1/5) Hack. (0/5) Slash. (0/5) Cleave. (5/5) Flourish. (0/5) Thrust. --Combat Attacks-- (1/5) Sweep. [15s CD] (5/5) Brawl. (Need info on the cool down.) (1/5) Taunt. (Need info on the cool down.) (5/5) Blade Storm. (Need info on the cool down.) --Passive Skills-- (5/5) Parry. (0/5) Endurance. |
Here's what I did for my primary pirate:
For the combos, I tried to break it up so if I didn't have a chance to do the whole combo, I'd still get a big boost in the middle. While the stun move would've been nice if it were a little longer, I'm pretty happy with only 1 point in it - it let's you get off a couple moves uninterrupted (not that anything can interrupt our combos... yet) Don't know why, but I haven't seen ANYTHING come as a result from using the "Taunt" skill... except that I got more xp during levelling, and that the enemy turned red. Blade storm takes about as long to recharge, maxed out, as Life Drain on the voodoo doll. Figure on opening with it, just like the enemies do. Didn't use either passive - the bonuses were far too small, compared with what I can get from other things. --Combo Attacks-- (1/5) Hack (2/5) Slash (5/5) Cleave (2/5) Flourish (4/5) Thrust --Combat Attacks-- (5/5) Sweep. (1/5) Brawl (1/5) Taunt (5/5) Blade Storm --Passive Skills-- (5/5) Parry. (0/5) Endurance. |
5/5 Endurance DEFINETALY!
5/5 in Thrust and BladeStorm. I dont know many others you want to max. 0/5 Parry. Also, with Endurance, thats 125 health for YOU to have on you. Not when cutlass drawn but FOREVER. |
Yea, but how much is that really?
5 whole points for 125 hp! What is the base HP of a lvl 40 Pirate with full weapon mastery? |
It varies, it depends if you spend 5 points on Endurance. Think about it, I've died loads of times cause of 5 hp short. Imagine 125 extra. :)
While I've only got grenades at level 20, everything else is mastered... and I've got 1,854 hp. The five points that would've gotten me 1,975 were, I believe, better spent elsewhere. But that's just me, and my long-term feelings.
i would definatly do endurance thats an extra 25 health per point so maxed u can have an extra 125 health!
Something to consider about Endurance...
In the end it's 125 health points. Fairly insignificant compared to the overall total. But while you're grinding out the weapons and working on quests, those extra 25 points per skill point have come in very handy. The trick is when to add them around the other skills. |
