Marceline Guild, at Your Service! ~ July 28, 2011

Plundering at sea has become a challenging and risky business. Enemy ships are on full alert, Bounty Hunters scour the high seas, and islands fearful of notorious Pirates are closing their ports.

The Marceline GMs will make surprise appearances aboard public ships this weekend
, to help Pirate crews battle, evade and survive at sea… Scoundrel-style!

You heard right! You will hold the helm while a GM serves in your crew.
Need a hand on the cannons? Our GMs are battle-ready and glad to be of service.
Not too handy with a hammer? Never fear - Captain Xavier Hench has been doing push-ups and he's ready to repair your ship to keep you afloat as long as possible!

The Marceline “swabs” will also aid Captain ‘n crew to increase their Scoundrel level by dispensing sound nautical advice on navigation and strategy (at Captain’s discretion, of course).

GMs Captain Xavier Hench, Catherine Harcourt, Thatch Roberts, Bonnie O’Bailey and Phillipe Gaston will be making the rounds on public ships during these times:
When: July 29 (3 – 4:30pm), July 30 (3:30 - 5pm), July 31 (3:30 - 5pm)
*All Event times are Pacific Standard Time
Where: Public ships on Andaba, Andoso, Angama, Barano, and Battama

If you want to partake in this Event, remember to set your ship to public during the scheduled times!

I'll be sure to find Pretty Polly and board her ship...as the game Gm's love her :D

The Skirata Clan 07-29-2011 01:04 AM

This is exactly what I always wanted! Forget customized ships and new quests, This is what I want in the game!

I should start announcing when I will be playing too.

Slasher 07-29-2011 02:07 AM

Hah, yeah, that would help.

Dark_Pixie 07-29-2011 11:01 AM

Oh yes, it would be lovely to have a Game Master on my ship. I'd feel on top of the world! I think I can do those times, too. You'll be seeing me on a littler pirate, destroying ships at that time. :P If I was the captain of the ship, though, I'd find it pretty awkward, actually. Especially if it's just me and the Game Master. Well, that's just how I am. xD I love the sound of this...

Davy_Mcwrecker 07-29-2011 02:14 PM

Come, on! I hate the PST timezone thing!!!! It's dinner time where my folks are at, and we go out and eat on the weekends! They put it on a good time for them, but not for everyone else! :'( I wish they would work on their timing. Like, before lunch for them, and AFter lunch for us....

Captain Gas 07-29-2011 03:21 PM

I wonder what the odds are of the Game Masters coming onto someone else's ship... perhaps if there's a small amount of shipmates or the ship needs help? I'll be sure to do just what Cannonfury said! :D

akamystic 07-29-2011 03:47 PM

Perhaps they will be open to questions and provide feedback. Get ready to take some screen captures .....

Dark_Pixie 07-29-2011 03:55 PM

I wonder how many public ships we'll see on those servers this weekend? X_X

akamystic 07-29-2011 06:49 PM

A cornucopia ......

Davy_Mcwrecker 07-29-2011 11:21 PM

Just a few more minutes........
EDIT: Bonnie O'mally stayed on the ship for 5 minutes, and left. She was probably tired of all the : Lets fight QAR! Can I join your guild? lemme friend you!!! shut up noob, let the gm speak!!!!

Enough GM events. Enough. Just enough. Do more updates instead of this, kraken, yadda yadda... man I need to get my complaints to Disney on a recording. I've voiced them so much over the years and apparently they arent being heard.

Davy_Mcwrecker 07-30-2011 08:14 PM

If ye dont like GM events, dont Attend them. They host those GM events, so they can get by without any updates for a major update.

Yes, that is very believeable, considering they get over several thousand e-mails/calls, ect. a day.

Just be glad they had this event, than going a long time with out anything.

That's just my :smiley42:.

Some people like GM events. Especially the kids who play this. It's very special to them. And come on, we just got Scoundrel Of The Seas! It's quite ungrateful to constantly ask for updates. We get plenty, and what's wrong with a few GM events once in a while? There may be no magic for you, but there certainly is for many players on Pirates. I like how they're doing things. And this GM event is perfect for the players who haven't quite got the hang of Scoundrel Of The Seas.

It's the little things that count.

Davy_Mcwrecker 07-31-2011 02:06 AM

Because they pre-write their messages and when they paste it to chat sometimes the data doesn't go through resulting in boxes.

With the emails, you'd think with the thousands they get per day, they would bother reading at LEAST one of them. It's fairly obvious that they barely take any advice from the community, which they need to do more.
Pixie, this leads me to another thing, Disney barely gives anything to their older fanbase. You'd think we'd get at least one new feature that isn't rather juvenile (citing the Scoundrel's voice, annoying and rather degrading to listen to). We get plenty updates? This year, in a span of 8 months now, we've gotten a whopping 3 updates. They were, ranks that didn't add any new gameplay (Just shiny coins, a few new clothes, bad tattoos and scars), a disgrace of an update that contained just 1 ship and 2 (models reused from old enemies) bosses, and overpowered ships (with reused models) that come and chase you with their aimbotting explosive broadsides, ruining peaceful sailing and not really adding anything new to the game, just new (not even new types, yet ANOTHER reusal) ships. The little things that count? We haven't gotten a big update since Raven's Cove, LAST OCTOBER. If Disney makes something as small and insignificant as Scoundrels the big summer update, I can tell a lot of people are going to be very disappointed.

Dark_Pixie 07-31-2011 10:42 AM

You do have a point. The game is aimed at 10-13 year olds, I think, but there are far older players on this game as well. IMO, I don't really mind about regular updates. I quite like the game as it is, and I'll always enjoy Pirates, regular updates or not. Though I am hoping that the Scoundrels wasn't the big summer update either. If the GMs are dropping hints about bigger ships, as Joshua showed us, then this could mean that our predictions about the SOTL coming out in the summer may just be true.

I mostly agree with you. I wasn't a huge fan of the Scoundrels. But I think GM events are fun for everyone, not just kids. As for the updates, let's just wait and see. Because there have been only three large updates this year, I think we might get a big surprise later this year... ;)

Also, they were 3 MAJOR updates. Privaterring and PvP? Not like it was in January.
Sailing? Not even close. Yes, the voice is annoying, but just turn off the sound
effects. No big deal. I play silent. No sound whatsoever. You need to learn to comprimise, and stop complaining. Don't like the Socundrel ships after you? When you reach the Second scoundrel rank, dock, and restart. And, with the infamy, they also gave us new levels. So you could level more stuff if you were mastered. This year, as it seemes, all they are bringing are major updates. I would rathar have 4 or 5 major updates than 45 little updates.

Captian Blimey John 07-31-2011 10:16 PM

New levels, yes, new GAMEPLAY, no. It's entirely aesthetic, just a few bug fixes and fancy badges, didn't need a whole huge update for that. I shouldn't have to COMPROMISE playing an online game. It's supposed to just be fun, not a business deal. All bringing "major updates"? Don't make me laugh. A ship and 2 bosses is a major update to you? Wow. And Scoundrels is a major update? It doesn't change the game really at all. Infamy didn't either. Meanwhile, we've been asking for things, basic things, like trading and ship customization, and we get an odd bounty hunter feature that nobody asked for. It seems to me that some players are just so starved of updates, they take any tiny thing that disney releases as the greatest thing ever to come to the game.
