What song describes your character best?
On another forum I've been on, someone asked this question about some other characters. Sometimes song gets the message better than words, so what are your characters' songs? Mine are:
Misty - Ghost Love Score (Nightwish) and Haunted (Midnattsol) Deadly Nightshade - See Who I Am (Within Temptation) Mayhem Evermore - Live And Let Die (Guns 'n' Roses) and Iron (Within Temptation) Breeze O'Luck - I'm Going Slightly Mad (Queen) and I Should Be So Lucky (Kylie Minogue) I'm into a lot of hard rock and metal. :skull: There are probably loads more that would be eligible for Misty and Mayhem, but this is all I got. What are yours? |
Meg McBones - Boulevard Of Broken Dreams (Green Day)
Im pretty sure that Meg is a loner haha! |
Stealthy Cannoneer- Rolling in the Deep (Adele)
Henry Mcbones- Bohemian Rhashpody (Queen) Solomon Calicoskull- 21 Guns (Green Day) Stealth- Little Lion Man (Mumford & Sons) |
Probably Battlefield 1942 theme for all...
Well, it doesn't represent just total warfare. its quite is dramatic, and is the kinda song that... gets you moving, i guess. Anyways, all of my pirates have a "fire" in them: a fire to keep moving, to blow forts up, to overthrow tyrants, and to steal peoples rum. |
Oh Jolly! im gonna send 1 in tomorrow!
|
Without a doubt Dance of the Knights/Montagues and Capulets by Sergei Prokofiev describes all my Pirates, look up that song and you're life will better for it, just do it and you can thank me later.
Two other songs that describe my pirates are Danse Macabre by Camille Saint-Saëns, (My favorite piece of all time) and They're Coming to Take Me Away (Ha-haa) by Napoleon XIV. |
Hector Cannonbane: Bohemiom Rapsody (queen)
Jack Swordsteel: Queen Killer (Queen) We will rock you- we are the champions. (queen) |
Jason Suncutter: Trolololo Song. (Youtube it)
Witchdoctor Dan: Ghosts & Stuff by deadmau5 Kleos Suncutter: Civilization by Justice |
I have to admit, I put a lot of thought in to this.
Delmaria Darkskull is supposed to have a very rugged, respectable tone to him. After all the tragedy that he's gone through in his life - the blood that has spilled on his hands, the destruction and murders of his closest family and friends, and all the mental and emotional distress he has been put under by the things he has seen - you would expect something that represents him to be very somber. And believe it or not, I often find it that Delmaria's past has led to listen and learn songs that would fit him better than me. My guild knows that I am very avid when it comes to playing the guitar, which is mainly where Del's personality comes in. Aside from me playing the usual Flamenco and rock music I like to play, I always tend to like playing very morbid, depressing songs - now, where that's Del talking, or I just am slowly spiraling downward, beats me. In the end, however, I'd have to say Del can't be represented by just one song. His personality, if ranged in music, would have to go from Stairway to Heaven, to The Edge of Glory, to Wanted Dead or Alive. But, if I had to choose one general area, I'd have to go with the music created in the final years of one of my favorite artists: Johnny Cash. |
Davy is interesting... He's got a lot of traits, and to sum it up in one song is hard... I ended up choosing Davy Jones's theme to represent him. The song has three parts to it: A slow, peaceful part; a dramatic and powerful part, and then finally a sad, slow part at the end. The beginning part would be Davy's peaceful, fun loving side. The part of him that shows most often. The kind, gentle part of him... almost fatherly. The second part, the powerful and deep part shows Davy's ruthless side. Cruel and a deadly fighter, never giving up and a foe to be feared. The last, more sad part, shows all the hardships Davy has gone through to get where he is today, and the ones he still has.
I will do Tiberius later... I am short on time... but there's Davy. |
Misty is the mysterious, enigmatic type, hence the name. She hasn't got much of a dark past, but she sure is creating a dark future for herself.
Deadly Nightshade is a bit more in your face. She is rarely seen without a corset on. Deadly Nightshade tries to make light of dark things, because she doesn't want a repeat to the incident a long time ago... Mayhem Evermore stands her ground (Another song for her would be Stand My Ground by Within Temptation) and never lets anyone walk all over her. She is from a posh way of life, but left to be a pirate because she felt unfulfilled. Breeze O'Luck is a mental Pixie Pyrate who likes to wear green. That's it really. I love Bohemian Rhapsody, and Davy Jones' theme! Awesome stuff. And Del, here's a pint of rum. |
Hmm... surprised I never saw this thread. o.O Two months late, but here it goes...
I couldn't decide between four different songs just for Jason, so I chose a few individual ones for different parts of him. Intense Fighting (invasions n stuff)/doing anything really exciting: Jason is Reborn from the Bourne Ultimatum (music by John Powell) and Extreme Ways (or Bourne's Ultimatum) also from the Bourne Ultimatum (song by Moby). Roaming the Caribbean/adventuring: Le Pyromane by Karkwa. None of you would have heard of Karkwa unless you know who won the 2010 Polaris Music Prize (Canadian)... but Awesome might know that song. ;) (just search them up. they are french Canadian, but they're great.) Guild Events/having fun that doesn't involve killing xD: Marie tu Pleurs by Karkwa. One of those songs that isn't making you feel at all sad.:) I have no idea about George or Kat or Hugo... so that's all I have. :D |

Wow... it's been a long time since I last saw this thread. Now I have a new character (Twilight Tragedy), it's time to give her a theme song! :P For Twilight, it would have to be Dead To The World by Nightwish. Twilight has a dark, twisted past, full of corruption. The song pretty much explains it.
Oh yeah, I did have Mercury after Breeze. He'd have something like... The Entertainer. I didn't like Merc very much. :P |
Interesting, never really noticed this thread. Well here I go:
Ivan Hood: The Count of Tuscany ~ Dream Theater/Vicarious ~ Tool Peter Yohansen: Lights ~ Journey/That's the Way ~ Led Zepplin Mr. Skippy: Toxicity ~ System of a Down -Yes I'm serious Heavy fighting ~ The Dark Eternal Night ~ Dream Theater/Angel of Death ~ Slayer Walking around/Exploring: 1979 ~ Smashing Pumpkins/Freewill ~ Rush Guild Events/meetings: Anything or nothing... Anything else: Something from my Prog archive |
We all play POTCO for different reasons. When life is completely turned upside down, it is a virtual anchor for me. so, I guess the song that describes my pirate would be something like: "Somewhere I Belong" by linkin park.
|
I agree Lizzy ....it does help one escape from reality. I'd have to pick Rebel Yell by Billy Idol.

The Seven Deadly Sins by Flogging Molly. That song applies to all my pirates.
|
Limp Bizkit - My Way for my second Pirate (Captain Enzo Thatch)
|
I have to admit, my pirates have changed.
Stealthy Cannoneer - Hes always been a bit on the humorous side, but little by little, he has created a cold, unrelenting side to his personality, which makes me go with 42 by Coldplay. Henry Mcbones - this pirate has always been fun-loving, but he isnt the smartest, but hes the person you want to have when things go bad. Hes fearless, and not afraid to spill blood. Thats why his song is.... Davy Jones's theme. Midnight Monstrosity- This pirate has always been a bit cold-hearted, and she is fond of manipulating pirates on Abassa Tortuga. Thats why her song is.... Yes by Coldplay. Stealth- Stealth is definetly a strange pirate. He isnt afraid to admit he is ugly, (seriously, you should see his nose) and he used to be a Navy Govenor. Thats why his song is..... Shadow of the Day by Linkin Park. |
I'd have to say... Bad Kids, by Lady Gaga, for all of my pirates. (I'm a twit, degenerate young rebel and I'm proud of it.)
|
I'm actually gonna change Meg's theme song...
Venom by Klaus Badelt.... |
I could have a concert of songs for different goings on. Here are a few that come to mind.
Solo questing- ( Evergreen Terrace= Plowed......say a prayer for me) :skull: Silly down time - ( 311= Sunset in July) :buds: Crew battles- ( Rise against= Help is on the way) :sailr: |
Ah, yes... this old thread. I'm gonna add a song to Jason's list. ;) It doesn't really fit in any of his "parts" (o.O)... I would place it on guild pride events on Abassa-Tortuga. The song is "Suburban War" by Arcade Fire. :)

Hmmm, Mia would be 'Ghostrider'... remade by Rollins Band on the Crow soundtrack. |
No questions. No secrets. No spoilers.
"Wanted Dead or Alive"- Bon Jovi. for Hector, as he has cause drama, trauma, mishap, misfortune, and piracy throughout the Caribbean, while being a good friend to some. I will not say if I am proud or not of this. :psmiley35: I don't know my other characters well enough! :laughks2: :laughks2: (Capin Otter and Trust, PnC and SS) Oh- btw, I lied xD |
I'd have to say the following:
Syndic Thrawn: Blackbeard's Theme from POTC On Stranger Tides Meghan Darkhara: Morgan Adam's Theme from Cutthroat Island Karl Pellaeon: Der Koniggratzer Marsch |
Chalupa - Gettysburg by RATATAT
El Torro - Livin' la Vida Loca by Ricky Martin Zac Caspian - The Night by Disturbed Dog Daggerskull - Under the Bridge by the Red Hot Chili Peppers Skippa - Walking on Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves (LOL) |
Okay... you know what? I'm gonna completely redo this...
Jason Lockbane - Major Minus by Coldplay Esmerelda Lockbane - Princess of China by Coldplay (with Rihanna) Kat Lockbane - um... Le Pyromane by Karkwa? *shrugs* I don't play her enough... lol Francis Lockbane - I'll just say Wasted Hours by Arcade Fire ;) Kat (it's a guy o_O) - Online by Brad Paisley (don't ask... o_o) There... i think that fits a little better. :P Quote:
|
hmmm, i think i need to split the difference between pixies and pirates... :buds:
for pixies (with/out lyrics):
and just on general principal here: Pirates ~ Emerson, Lake and Palmer :pirate_flag: |
Benny Hills - Yakety Sax
