Was hoping for dual pistols to be announced thanks to the picture... what a let down. Maybe they'll add shotguns and repeater rifles soon....

I hate to sound like a ranter... but did they really just give us a random code for a common pistol? I mean, really? I suppose its useful if you're below level twenty five, but even then its not the best. I think I'll stick with my Bush Master and Scoundrel's Pistols. They could at least make this pistol rare... I mean seriously, this is really silly.

I actually think I've had this gun before, or, if not, one similar to it.
The deal with this pistol is that they're giving it to A) Draw new people into the game, and B) Give it to those who have come strictly because of the movie to "keep them" here. When and if they stay long enough to see that it's not doing much, however, we'll be right back where we started, D.

Be nice for a lowbie pirate. Other than that, I think I might just... collect it.... In my growing heap of TRASH... grumble.

Well, no dearie. Speaking as a Founder who's played this game for nigh on 4 years, I can say this is something of a non-starter, if you will.

I've been paying my dues (membership) waiting for another Boss Battle lo these many years, and have yet to see it come to pass.

This little tidbit is a tad insulting. This piddling little pistol will not inspire anyone to buy and maintain a membership...what will do that is a game that doesn't lag/freeze constantly and one that provides frequent, logical, story updates. This ain't it, mate.

I won't abandon this ship...I'm too fond of it to do that, in spite of it's warts. But do I long for a better, faster ship? Aye. Pirate!

Luckie, I know what you mean completely, and I am really grateful for the QAR update and all that. I simply just don't see the point in giving us a pistol like this that really is not very good, to say the least. I'm very grateful for everything they have given us, but I just don't see why they gave this to us since it is a really weak pistol.

I do suppose that there are people that benefit from these code weapons, but I do think that they could have done a bit better... I mean, at least make it rare. I know its just a color difference, but most people would rather have a rare weapon than a common.

Well, since you've been playing this game since it was released, I'm sure you're also well aware of the lack of updates that occurred those first 2-3 years. At least they're releasing new content. Remember when all there was on the Grog Blog were Pirate/Guild Spotlights, and "tales" of something new coming? I agree with Luckie, we really need to be happier with what is coming out for us.

And fellow pirates, if you've already mastered a pirate, go ahead and try mastering another.... that will keep ya busy! And if you think it's boring and pointless to start over, I go on my mastered pirate the most, and I have the most fun on that pirate - by looting. And about this game being too easy for us mastered pirates, I'd enjoy peacefully looting off an enemy I know I can kill.... rather than pulling my hair out and giving myself a headache when I'm dieing against something that's a tough challenge for me.

Um ok... really good joke... seriously it is. :laughks2:

Now, where is the real Haymaker Pistol?

Keep in mind that it is a code weapon you dont' even earn it it is free do you expect them to be giving out famed weapons for free?

The very least they could have done with this "Level 1" Pistol is make it available for Everyone (Basics and Unlimited) to use.

I somewhat see the logic of Luckie's post and I also see the logic of Ukebec (where have you been hiding?) And understand both points. Disney is doing everything they can to attract New players and does very little to maintain those of us who have been playing since the first months of the game and have stayed as paying members since.


EDIT: I just figured out what looked wrong with that image of Jack! His arms are way too short! His body is disproportionate! They made him the size of Marty (the short pirate). Jack's arm barely get to his waist! The arm spread length of any human is usually the same as that human height. They made the upper body too big and the arms too short hence making the legs very very short!! HaHaHa!!

Amen to that Sharky, I first started playing since back in 07'. We were lucky to get updates! Now we get updates ALOT more then we use to. But really POTCO you gave me a pistol and I gave you almost 4 years of membership!?! Im glad low levels get to use it. BUT REALLY?

I can't completely abandon the game, but I play infrequently, a lot of the time on test.

I still lurk the boards frequently tho. ;)

lol, while other online games are ignoring lower level players and working very hard to keep the high levels happy, POTCO is ignoring high levels and giving lower levels almost everything.

I think if they really wanted to keep new players coming in, what they need is not more updates for lower levels, but a cinematic trailer AD on tv and websites.

Every popular online game has one, cinematic trailers are what gets ppl to want to play, even if the in game graphics are 10 times worse.

But POTCO's ADs are anything but appealing, if you have a bad AD, people aren't going to want to join.
