The Shadow Games!
The Shadow Games So, you think you're one tough Sorceror, eh? You don't? Shut it and pretend! Well, its time to prove that you're the best of the best! The Shadow Games will test your skills in ALL areas of the game. There will be ship races, scavenger hunts, trivia, endurance testing, foot races, riddles, singing (wait, WHAT!?), and of course, Player versus Player combats! Are you scared yet? You are? Wimps... just pretend you're not scared... [/CENTER]These Games will be played over two weeks, and more time will be added if needed. There will likely be events almost every day, and each will be different. When you sign up (I will get to sign ups in a moment), you are signing up for ALL events. The Shadow Games are a tournament involving testing your strength in ALL areas of the game to prove your strength... or in common tongue, your pwnageness. :p Exact event dates and elimination methods will be planned out after I see how many people are signing up. Should this event get more interest than we have space (I don't have an exact amount of spots open yet), then I will have to close signups. There will be times in these games where you will be on teams, in pairs, or solo. Some events will be harder for you than others, but I will try as hard as I can to make sure that there are no significant advantages/disadvantages for any player (i.e., I won't be making any people in their 20's solo a Thrall Captain.). Before the games start, there will be a huge party to kick-off The Games (I lost). At this party, there will be some announcements, poker, small events, RUM, and a solo from a surprise singer in our guild! This party is open to ALL players, be they Sorceror or not. If you do not wish to sign up for the games (note that they are Sorceror only), you may still come and watch our Gamers participate. The rules for each individual event will be explained when the time comes, but there are a few general rules to be explained. 1. First and foremost: PLAY NICE! Show good sportsmanship. Any cursing, insulting, excessive taunting (minimal taunting in good fun is alright, as long as everyone knows its a joke.), or griefing will not be tollerated and will result in warning, disqualification, and depending on the severity, ejection from the guild. 2. No glitching unless OKed by me or a judge. This will be rare. Using third party programs or hacking to win will result in immediate disqualification. 3. No whining! There will be some events that are a bit tough for you, but as I said before, I will try to make everything as even as possible. Don't fret, if it's hard for you, its probably hard for your opponent as well. 4. Follow instructions of judges. If you are asked to hold fire, then HOLD FIRE! Excessive ignoring/disobeying the orders of a judge will result in disqualification. 5. If another Shadow Gamer is bothering you in any way, do not hesitate to notify me or a judge. 6. Have fun! These Games are purely for fun and sport! Here are the W's. What: The first ever Shadow Games! When: Kick-Off Party is Saturday, June 11th at 8pm Eastern. The Games themselves will take place over the next two or so weeks. Where: Each event and meeting spot will be announced a few days beforehand. Kick-Off Party is going to be at the Ratskellar Tavern on the Kokoros Server. Who: You must be a Sorceror to sign up (you may use your main pirate, if it is not your main pirate in our guild), but anyone can come and watch! I'll also be needing some judges. If you are not a Sorceror but would like to be a part of these games, you may sign up as a judge by giving me the name of your pirate. I'll take five for now, but I may take more if necessary. Yes, it will be held on weekdays as well as Weekends, usually towards late afternoon or evening on Weekdays, in case anyone has any summer classes or work.

Alright mates, signups are closed and I have been able to organize everyone into groups. I have four groups of four and one group of three. These groups are not TEAMS. These are the people you will be competing AGAINST for the first three or four events. Below are the groups. The people in your group will be somewhere around your level. Red Group Dog Gunmorgan Mr Awesome Rabbid Rabbit Meg Mcbones Black Group Roger Swordshot Sam Bladebeard Tom Sharkbane Jason Green Group Camdapirate Neato Margaret Wildeagle John Yellow Group Davy McCrusher Christopher Davy Fireskull (officer) Jason Lockbane White Group Lizzy Jason Gunshot Deadly Nightshade As I said, you will be competing in these groups for the first three or four events. Here's the way it will work. For every event, you will have to do certain things, and when you do these certain things, you will get points. Sometimes it will be points for every enemy defeated, sometimes it will be points for what place you get in in a race. Me and the judges will keep track of the points that you are getting, and once we finish the first group of events, they will be tallied up. The person with the LEAST amount of points in the end will be eliminated, and the rest of the others will move on to the next set of games. Not very much other information will be announced until the Kick-Off Party next Saturday on the 11th. If you have questions, feel free to post here. If you have any serious issues with the group I've put you in you can PM me. If there are no-shows, then I may mix the groups up a bit, but for the most part, these groups are final. |

Aye... I seemed to miss half of it due to computer problems (mainly a virus). But it was still good for the time I was there! If there are any events on Tuesday, I can't make it.

Yesterday was a good party. For a quick summary, we started out just partying (some of us in our underwear...) and talking. I got on Davy at one point and used that Summon Chicken potion of mine. Billy was hungry. After that, that surprise singer showed his face! It was none other than Billy Fireskull! He stood on stage and began his song. Ooooh! Who lives on a fishing boat on top of the sea? Tiberius Fireskull! He looks quite ugly and smells of cheese! Tiberius Fireskull If meeting a moron be something you wish... Tiberius Fireskull Then go launch a warship and sink all his ships! Tiberius Fireskull Tiberius Fireskull, Tiberius Fireskull, Tiberius Fireskull Tiberiiiuuuuus Fireskuuuuuull [Insert Belchin' Brew] I'm depriving him of meat for that... after that, I made the announcements for whats to come, which will be found after I finish summarizing the party. Finally, I decided to make everyone do a bit of a warmup jog, just to get the blood pumping in them, aye? I all dragged the lazy pirates out of Ratskellar (its what Summer does to you...) and gave them the route. They were to go through Padres town, into Beckett's Quarry, through those tunnels and into the jungles of El Sudoron, and finally pass through that into Las Pulgas to Darkhart where the finish was. Our winners were Christopher in 1st place, William Yellowbeard in 2nd, and Johnny Darkwalker in 3rd. And now... onto our first event... Land-Sea-Land Race! This first event is a simple race. This race will not just be a few laps around a building. This race will take place across Land and Sea! There are three parts to it, as the title suggests: a land part, a sea part, and another land part. The first stretch of the race will take place on Port Royal. You will start out on Port Royal Beach, next to Darby Drydock. You will then run up, past Lucinda to the Governor's Mansion. Gamers will then run down the Governor's Mansion through the other way, and to the Dock. They will run down to the end of the dock and they will launch their ship. I have a map provided below for you. The dotted path represents your route, and where it says "Judge" is the approximate location of a Judge. http://i1124.photobucket.com/albums/...-51-33-1-1.jpg Once at the end of the dock, Gamers will then launch their ship (they will give the name of their ship to one of the judges before the game starts) and sail to Devil's Anvil. There will be a judge stationed at sea to make sure that ALL of the Gamers launch their ships, to prevent cheating. If your ship is not seen, and you somehow make it to the finish, you will be given ZERO POINTS for this round (remember that you will get points within your competing group for what you do, and the person with the least after the first four events will be DQ'd.). After landing at Devil's Anvil, you will run the last leg of the race. You will run from where ever you landed straight to Barbossa's Grotto. Once you get inside, you will run to the center of the area of land that Barbossa is on, flex, and yell "SHADOW!" to the judge or judges stationed there. The person who wins first place will recieve 3 points, second will receive 2, and third will recieve 1. This event will take place TOMORROW, Monday the 13th at 8pm Eastern Time! In the event of No-shows, the group will need to make up the event at a scheduled time. Oh don't worry mates, this is just the first event! The next few will be much harder and/or more painful! |

Try as best you can to fit your schedule around these games, because is is difficult to do them if someone isn't here. I will also announce the next event today after everyone has finished their race.
One last thing... our dear(?) Witchdoctor Dan is going to be recording the events as a video, so make sure to dress your best and act your most Sorceror-ish! Remember that ANYONE is allowed to come and spectate! |

First off, to all of the people that didn't show up, cleared or not, you have gotten zero points today. I hate to sound mean like this, but we don't exactly have very much time for these events, and I need to be moving through them as soon as possible. Should there be time, you will get a chance to make it up, but you are going to have to do very well in our next event if you don't want to be eliminated. When you sign up for these events, I expect you to be able to show up for them. It is a huge pain for me to need to constantly rearrange these teams due to you not showing up. I rearranged the teams one last time at this event. I will not do it again. Now back to the event. Today was the first race. We had each people go in groups using the route that I mapped out. When I shot my gun, they all ran to the Governor's Mansion, then back down to the docks, launching their ships, making for Devil's Anvil, and then into Barbossa's Grotto. The winners are as follows: First Place: Mr Awesome, Jason Lockbane, and Camdapirate Second Place: Johnny Darkwalker, Christopher, and Chris Firefury Third Place: Dog Gunmorgan, Davy Fireskull, Margaret Wildeagle Remember that 3 points are awarded to 1st place, 2 to 2nd, and 1 to 3rd. I have put the points on the original post, if you want to look at that. And now onto the next event... Timed Ship Sinking! This event is really quite simple, but not all that easy. Each member of your group will launch their ship at Padres Del Fuego. You have your choice of any two gunners, so long as it is not a judge or a member of your group. They don't have to be from Shadow Sorcerors. You have a choice of any War Ship, nothing else. If you don't have a War Ship, one will be provided for you (remember that if the Captain is not one of your gunners, you will not be able to board flagships, as the Captain of the ship must initiate boarding!). A judge along with your two gunners will board your ship. You will then have fifteen minutes to sink as many ships as you can. You must stay in the area SOUTH of Port Royal. The points for ships are as follows: Ships of the "light" class or regular sloops: 0 points. Galleons, Frigates, or War class ships: 1 point each. Flagships (must not be of the light class, and must be crippled, boarded, and sunk): 2 points each. Navy Elite or EITC Tyrant: 3 points. Ship of the Line: 5 points. The Queen Anne's Revenge (must be crippled, boarded, and sunk): 10 points. Note that judges are not allowed to assist in the sinking of ships, except if they are fighting enemies on board a flagship. Also, you may not "farm" the same ship. You may not kill the same ship more than twice in a row. Below I have the rules summed up:

Day two is done mateys! Congratulations to all who finished! I'm very impressed with all of your work. It became a bit disorganized with the gunners, so I ended up taking the gunners out and making everyone solo the ships. It was a bit harder, but you got to exercise your finger a bit more by pressing that broadside button an extra time or two! Before I get to posting stats, I just want to post the changes I've made. First of all. I have done away with the groups. It depended a bit too much on all the members of the group being there, and we always had lots of no-shows. Instead of having groups and dropping the lowest person in each group at the end, I have taken the groups and merged them. At the end of the next event, I will calculate all the points up and the FOUR people with the lowest points will be eliminated. I have also had to remove the people who haven't made it to the last two events. I'm very sorry mates, but I did it for two reasons. The first being that if you were unable to make these events or if you are forgetting, then you probably won't make many of the future ones. The second is that at this point, if you haven't been at the last two, you're probably not going to be able to catch up to the others by now anyway. Again, I'm sorry for this, but I have to just keep the active members. Now onto what you really care about. The stats! In order of how well they did... Mates, I've calculated up your scores. For the no shows, I found two people that were willing to sub. I chose two no shows at random for them to make up for and they got the points. After tallying up the points, the four people with the lowest scores were eliminated, leaving 8 others. You eight are going to be the ones that are moving on to do the event tomorrow. With these eight people, I have made two teams of four. These two teams will compete against each other, and after the event tomorrow, one of those teams will be ELIMINATED! The teams I have formed are below:
Team Red Roger Swordshot Christopher Davy Fireskull Johnny Darkwalker Team Black Mr Awesome Savvy Jason Lockbane Dog Gunmorgan And now onto the next event... Team Skirmish A simple little PVP match to see who's boss. We'll have each team get into a crew, with a few judges in each crew. One crew will challenge the other to a skirmish (via the player card) and they will go into battle. It will be best two out of three, so you've got to win two times. You win if... well, if your team wins. The judges will stand back and simply watch, to make sure all the rules (which I will discuss) are being followed. Attacking/Killing of a judge will get you ONE warning, and if you continue your entire team will be disqualified! Now, the rules for this match are simple. Blades Only! This means you may use cutlasses, sabres, broadswords, cursed blades, daggers, and throwing knives. Use of guns, dolls, grenades, or staff will get you a warning and will get you and your team DQ'd if the problem persists. As I said before, don't attack the judges! If you accidentally hit a judge with a single attack, its not big deal, but if you make a kill you will get a warning. Purposely attacking of a judge will also get you a warning, and if it continues you and your team will be DQ'd! Excessive jumping is not allowed! It gets irritating and is not fair for those that run on slower computers or aren't able to turn as fast. Just a bit is fine, but if a judge tells you to stop, you must stop. Rules are subject to change. This event will take place Tuesday, June 21st at 4:30pm EST. Kokoros Server, Tortuga dock. Oh, and so you all know, I may be just a few minutes late to these games. I have something happening just before that, so I may be fifteen or so minutes late. If I'm not online, just be patient and I'll hopefully get there not TOO late. :p |
