Warrior 04-24-2011 05:58 AM

yes site just went down a few minutes ago

Tiberius Fireskull 04-24-2011 05:59 AM

I saw this post and gave it a try. Yup, I'm locked out too. I really am starting to wonder what in the world is going on down at their headquarters. They've been having so many problems lately that I really am worried that something may happen. I mean, there were those major issues with the rollbacks about a month or two ago. And now recently there are even more issues. Less major, but still there.

I'd just wait a little bit. Hopefully it'll be back in the morning. I think I'll send them an email. I'll probably just get a generic reply, but it's worth a try.

EDIT: Just checked the POTCO site. Its down too. I'm looking at Toontown... looks dead too. So its not POTCO only. Its all of Disney's online games.

Christopher 04-24-2011 06:01 AM

Test is down too. I tryed opening the launcher but nothing happened.

Tiberius Fireskull 04-24-2011 06:03 AM

Well, test has been down for a while mate. I think that issue is something completely different.

Chernabog 04-24-2011 06:04 AM

OK, well at least it's not just me. Everything appears to be down.

xxnickste2121 04-24-2011 06:06 AM

yeah toontown is down too they did say yesterday they were having network problems u dont suppose they are having ddos issues do u?

Warrior 04-24-2011 06:10 AM

yes major redo for test apparantly they working on start a pirate but i dont know how it could affect all of the site

goldenpirates 04-24-2011 06:12 AM

All disneys are down. :psmiley27:

Christopher 04-24-2011 06:15 AM

This might lead to something bigger...

The Skirata Clan 04-24-2011 06:17 AM

I am starting to see a pattern. Maybe it's a coincidence but some other non-Disney online games are having issues too.

whiskey 04-24-2011 06:17 AM

I think they are all on vacation. We might see resolution Monday.

Tiberius Fireskull 04-24-2011 06:20 AM

Aye, DDO is not owned by Disney and if they are also having problems then this is something much bigger. I fear what this may be, and I truly mean that. I have a RL friend who plays DDO, so I'll ask him about that. Very strange. Although I don't know what in the world could be wrong if other online games are having problems. After all, they don't share one massive server, unless you count the Internet itself. But we're all posting here so the Internet is fine. Very strange... as I may have said before, let's wait a bit. Some things fix themselves, and in that case, I suppose we can forget about this... unless something else happens...

Mr. Awesome 04-24-2011 07:03 AM

Well mates it look like the zombie apocalypse has finally arrived! GET THE BLUNDERBUSSES, AIM FOR THE HEAD!!!!

Christopher 04-24-2011 07:05 AM

I wish there is a zombie apacalypse, it would be EPIC!

Mr. Awesome 04-24-2011 07:06 AM

Don't we all wish for one. -sighs softly-

whiskey 04-24-2011 07:09 AM

wait, would that be the undead French or undead Spanish zombie apocalypse?

Christopher 04-24-2011 07:10 AM

Yeah....

This is very off topic xD

EDIT: POTCO is up and running!

lumpysolo 04-24-2011 05:52 PM

This is not a coincidence. The other day Playstation Network is down! It was down (And maybe still is) for a good week. I know that Fusion Fall had this same problem. There must be some explanation. I am thinking that it is something to do with hackers... but... why isn't WoW going down?

Tiberius Fireskull 04-24-2011 06:00 PM

Because WoW has 11 million players, and probably a massive staff that has set up cyber defenses so it can't get harmed. I do think that your idea makes sense, lumpy, as its the only conceivable way that ALL of these sites can be going down at once.

- Gets a Flame Thrower and burns them all :D- - Brings an unlimited ammo Gatling gun off of Resident evil 5 -

LOl i would Prolly die the first week :D :DalmationEgg::SnowWhiteEgg:

The Skirata Clan 04-24-2011 07:18 PM

As long as it gets fixed, I don't care if its hackers, zombies, solar flares, or the ghosts of outdoor games. Jimmy G says its up and running so lets game on!

titanic95594 04-24-2011 09:16 PM

I think they are off because its Easter and also Good Friday. Remember, they want to celebrate it too! So thats my prediction of why their closed.

bartholomew bladeroberts 04-24-2011 10:34 PM

Hackers would be a truly scary thought particularly if credit card info was compromised

lumpysolo 04-25-2011 03:02 AM

What a coincidence, XBox Live was done not to long ago I heard...

The Skirata Clan 04-25-2011 03:43 AM

I didn't logged at XBL all last week. But maybe there were problems there too.

charles gunfury 04-25-2011 09:13 PM

From wut im hearingfrom my friends about all the gaming system online's it is caused by " Hackers " but i dont have a clue about the regular online games such as POTCO and Fusion Fall, or Toon TOwn, etc.....

titanic95594 04-25-2011 11:23 PM

Well, did anyone read my reason above? They could have the day off!!

The Skirata Clan 04-26-2011 05:29 AM

I doubt it, according to IGN a big one is having the same issues as the rest of the online gaming worlds. Apparently PSN is down too.

WoW has been having issues (of the same general idea as what's going on with POTCO) lately as well. The boyfriend plays quite regularly and reported to me when I was fussing about our POTCO issues that WoW seems to be having the same problems; he originally thought it was just his end of the game but said he's got a good number of friends with the same complaints. 11+ million players and a big ol' staff don't mean a thing if The Interwebs just decides to bite the dust. :laughks2:

whiskey 04-27-2011 02:12 AM

Well, the test launcher is not quite fixed, but it is different.

Now, previous news is displayed instead of a blank box, and several configuration options that were previously greyed-out are now open to click.

Still broken, but progress.

The Skirata Clan 04-27-2011 02:33 AM

This is getting bigger. PSN already admitted that they were hacked. And they are sure that they lost vital player info.

finn 04-27-2011 02:55 AM

it works on my mac i dunno

whiskey 04-27-2011 03:13 AM

Finn, your login to the Test server works on your Mac?

I think I know what could of caused this problem. (Im a computer programmer) Over the past 2-3 years Toontown has been h a c k e d.... But... that does not effect the website in any way. The only way to bring down a website without manually h a c k i n g it... is using Telnet. This program overloads a website and causing the servers to shutdown, like in this printscreen im attaching.
Chances are the servers will be back online in a few hours after everything resets.. and hope the "bad guys" don't do it again

titanic95594 04-27-2011 11:48 PM

I thought the only Disney game that was "hackable" was Clubpenguin. But who ever hacked in POTCO have cracked in pretty tough.
