Boss Battle
Hi, my husband and I are on the quest where we have to recover the black pearl from the navy. it says we have to play boss battle ?
does anyone know what this means ? |
It means that you have to go somewhere in your "treasure chest" and click "Boss Battle Now" to rescue the Black Pearl and sink the Goliath. This has currently been disabled though due to a lot of problems in the battle.

Nope it hasn't. I just got there last night (YAY)! and clicked on the button. Nada but a message. Now to get those levels up higher and wait it out. Going to be fun raising the notiriety with no more quests to do. Want my staff darnnit!

I'd bet at least 25% of the people in game are stuck waiting on Disney to finally fix and restore this battle. I was one of the few who were badly bugged and couldn't pass it when it was available so I've been waiting a loooooooooong time. It is getting rather dull just leveling up weapons and helping others until new content is added. I'm not alone when I say if there isn't significant progress by Christmas I will not be paying for January. |
Don't be in a hurry to finish it... the game is boring afterwards.

I've been waiting since before Thanksgiving and am also getting bored just leveling up weapons and helping others. I hope they fix it soon, but they also need to have something to come after it, or more than a few of the people who have been waiting are going to bail on their memberships come January.

I'm bored waiting for this to be updated - does anyone have an ETA for this to be back online - the game is loosing my interest at the moment as I had a lot o fun doing the quests!

I try at least once a day to get into the boss battle, but still no luck. I keep thinking they might fix it and not tell anyone at first, because so many people are waiting for it. We'll probably crash the game when it finally comes back online.
I can't figure out why it's taking so long!!! It was bugged before, but people were still able to complete it. Who knows what they're actually doing? The game goes down for "maintenance" every night, but there've been no new release notes for over a week. They should at least let us know that they're working on it (or working on something). People are getting bored and frustrated. I see fewer and fewer of my friends/guildmates coming online every day, and I wonder if some of them will ever come back. This game has so much potential, it's too bad the tech/customer support isn't there. |
I too am waiting on the boss battle, but we're only talking about 1 night of gameplay then. I hope they introduce the next quest chapter at the same time they re-enable the boss battle.
Otherwise, they fix it - everyone completes the boss battle in 1 day - and we're all waiting again. Am I missing something? |
since there hasnt been a release note latey i am predicting that they are just about to release the new stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if they're making it harder to pass.
When I went through it, the only damage I took was through the very first phase of it. After that, it was boring because you were just shooting, shooting, shooting, and not getting any damage. It wasn't a challenge at all. It was a big let down really. |
If it is harder to pass, it will keep us busy for a while longer, which could be a good thing if they don't release new quests at the same time.

This will be a great time for you to work on your cannon skills. You'll need it. No kidding. Sailing won't do much here. Drawbridges are too high. Broadsides won't reach. Why am I talking like this?

Ok i am really getting bored of waiting like others i have been waiting too long for the boss battle to come back on.
i think i will be cancelling my membership this is just down right stupid. to think we can send people into space, create mobile phones, have moving pictures in a box, but they cant fix a bug with a game. sory thats my rant done. :) |
Pirates just went down for maintenance for the night. Usually they don't do down til midnight or after PST, so maybe this is it!!!

they are talking about bringing new updates out, why dont they just fix the issues with the game before planning new stuff |
Same here. I've seen some pretty good bug fixes, which have made the game work better and more enjoyable, but the one I want more than anything is that Black Pearl quest to work again.
If they've not fixed it by the end of January, I don't see the point in continuing to pay. I've been waiting since somethin' like mid-November. |
I've been waiting since November, too - I got to the Boss Battle the EXACT day it was taken offline.
I've totally lost interest in the game, between the waiting and the having to fight low level enemies for no gain. I tried starting a new pirate, but didn't want to have two of them stuck. I used to play daily. Now I spend more time on this forum than I do playing the game, and I only come on here every couple of days to see what's up and if the Boss Battle's been fixed. I'm really disappointed - I had such great hopes for this game - but I think January will see me cancelling my membership. |
If you cancel memebership will you stop being a founder and lose all of your weapons and skills?

Down for far too long...
I think it's a little ridiculous that we've had to wait almost 2 months for them to fix this quest. I don't understand why they think this could be fun for most of us. And we're paying for this game! Thankfully, I have a fun guild, and like to help them out and play with them. But, if the techs don't get it up soon, I'm going to have to rethink my membership.
I think it's great that they're working on stuff like customization of avatars, but to make that more of a priority than what is causing hundreds of people to wait around until the Boss Quest is fixed, just seems wrong. On the bright side, I have significantly improved my sailing skills while I have been waiting for them to fix this quest. Widow Makers are #9 in overall ships sunk! Yay!:dancetl6: |
Where to find Test Server Release Notes?
A friend of mine said she read on the Test Server Release Notes that the Boss Quest was fixed. Then she said "that means it should only be a few days before it is fixed on the real server!". That was a week ago... still no fix on the production server...
I've looked and looked for the test server release notes, but can't find them anywhere. The latest release notes I've seen on the POTC website are from Dec 21st... Does anyone know where I can find these other notes? Thank you! |

As far as Founder status goes, it would not surprise me if Disney stripped that off. I should be a founder, due to some glitch Disney tells me there is nothing they can do.
Heck, I'd even buy a Founder account at this stage of the game. |
They could be fixing it now on the test server because it just went down for maintenance...

I agree. I am too waiting for the Boss Quest. Most of us have eben patiently waiting with no word to when it might be done or status on it's progress. I might cancel my monthly membership, since basically I've got nothing to do. I've had to go back through and find quests from "people" throughout the game. Even though it's boring, it gives u aim in the game.
My question is this. Once the boss battle comes back and running, and that's completed, how much longer before the next "quest" is available? Yeah, sinking ships with my fellow Guildmates (Widow Makers!) is fun, but paying $9.99/mo to do that, that's a bit high when I can do it for free with basic membership. If we cancel paying membership, do we lose all we've earned, (Voodoo, warships, staff etc)? It'd be nice for a Disney rep to chime in here and at least throw us a bone. Otherwise, youll lose alot of members. Thanks |
yea i pmed asking that same question but like say if u intended to renew but havent got to it yet do u lose everything then they wanted me to call a number lol and pay more :degen:

Well here we go ...Jan13th and still no Boss Battle . Looks like alot of ppl quit already and more thinking of it. Hope it comes soon as I too am ready to quit.

Dont get me wrong, i love this game. I've played almost 18 hrs a day at some points. I joined Dec 12th and am already at lvl 31. I'm not sayin make the game harder, because then it wouldnt be as fun for some (as its already a bit of a challange for some). I just cant see spending $9.99 a month for nothing. I also dont see workin this hard and long, droppin my membership and losing everything i've worked for. If there is a mod reading this, please speak up. Let us know that we have been heard and hey, throw us a crumb! I know u guys dont control the game but your admins might be able to find out for us and explain to us whats going on. We are payin customers and arent getting the service we paid for IMO. |

I think instead of complaining here, you guys should get on live help and start complaining to them directly. The more that people complain to them the more you will be heard.

What an incredibly un-helpful live chat you had.....
I've called cust. support in the past, and all they have only been able to help with account issues (subscribtion type stuff), no help with tech or game issues. Basically, cust. support is the billing dept. If anyone calls and finds out otherwise, PLEASE post it here so we can all call :) I'm also sick of waiting for the boss battle, and I fear all that new content they have promised us in February will keep us busy for a day, changing our looks and getting a tat..... sigh |

well im not at the boss battle but i looked at the start date of this thread and its a long time for disney to fix a few glitches. they're probably making a whole new story chapter and making the battle more hard

I thought that since it downloaded more than any other update I remember, it would fix the boss or the avatar changes had come early, .... they should at least post the release notes before so we all don't get are hope up that they may actually be working on fixing the game. I think they forgot to add this to the release notes

I posted the email response I got on this thread, they have canned responses and do not care to actually read your email. Their support is useless/non-existent.

The Admins of the forum may not be directly related to Disney, but you never know on what kind of knowledge they may posess. Canned responses are so annoying. I got numerous ones when I inquired about being suspended for mentioning what state I live in. I think maybe I should get a job as Disney's POTC customer support!!! :idea:

i mentioned that state i lived in before when i could swear to whoever because the admins were down for an update. it is hilarious when i can and others have trouble.
