educational?
Is POTCO educational ? I started when I was in Kindergarten, I read a 500 pg book in kindergarten after I got to lvl 10.
|
uh your in grade school? lol dont mind that lol idk about that
|
Interesting. May just be the development of you as you grow.
|
I don't think it has any educational information in it. :laughks2:
|
Page amount doesn't matter. all that matters is how hard it is to read.
No offense, but is probably a ton kinder garden words. and did you under stand it? |

Just coincidence that you were able to read a big book after that. POTCO is in no way educational, unless you count being able to wield a virtual sword. The most educational thing is learning that the British Navy occupied many islands in the Caribbean, and that really isn't much.
|
While it doesn't directly teach you a lot of factual information, it is proven in some cases that using the computer can sometimes refine some areas of the brain better than others, like quickly moving the hands and fingers (typing,) reading faster, etc. But, other than that, just consider yourself gifted, mi amigo :)

Stern? Um.... thats not very high level, but okay.
Congrats on reading it anyways. what was the books name? |
Maybe games can inspire to learn about certain events and time periods.

Great job on that book! |
Awesome Roger and good choice on the name eh and Pirate Guy is right
|
I was just curios.. wasn't making fun of him.
Was it a harry potter book? |
I know how you feel Rogerz. I played the games Civilization and Age of Empires when I was (Private) and they helped get me interested in history, and now I am an extreme history buff. So even if a game itself is not edcational it could lead to an interest in a subject thats in the game!
|
I was the opposite... I played Sid Meier's games because I liked history.
|
The game Is somewhat educational all the sword attacks are real .Except for voodoo most weapons are real. The ship types are real. So some things are real, but just a few.

Oh wow! My teacher acutally has that in his liberty. Nice mate!
- hands fruit punch - sorry not old enough for rum :P |
When my daughter was about very young she wanted to try some online games. I started her out on POTC. Her reading level exploded it seems. She goes to a private school which is very strict and she test out at 2.5 years ahead of her grade level. She started POTC about three years or so ago. She can also type at about 30 wpm.
|
The only way I think it might be able to help you educationally, not including what Del said, could possibly be spelling and some history.
|
Because of the Chat I find that my spelling as improved since POTCO.
|
This isn't really educational, but I would imagine playing POTCO would increase typing speed, spelling, and ease of use with a computer. I suppose it could also develop a few social skills from chat and whatnot, plus some interesting stories, but that's about it.

It is a bit, I use computer a lot and i am a couple grades ahead of my grade. It is a bit, like you have to be able to type words that don't show up in red. It also sorta involves math, if you need 5000 more gold for a ship. And, once again, the reading. -Hector/Capin Otter/Trust |
