is anyone else having trouble with their ship?
 

I was out sailing, and returned to port with a full hull. It showed "drop anchor" but when I clicked on it, it wouldn't drop anchor and I sailed right through the island. I tried another and still did not manage to drop anchor! I eventually teleported back to Port Royal, but now it shows my ship still out at sea, and to my friends it shows that I am sailing. I can not board my ship from the rowboat either!

I am not sure what to do... does anyone else have the same problem?

No am I not having trouble dropping my anchor, but I add some cargo and has logged out so I lost the cargo. tough Rocks.

That happened to me the first day the game went live, yeah. I sailed straight through Tortuga. I thought it was funny.
But i got my ship back after that.

Did you try logging out then logging back in? Sometimes that'll do the trick.

That happened the other day when I was on a friend's ship. First he sailed back out into the ocean and tried to make port again, resulting in us shooting through the island again. Next I toke over as helmsman, drove his ship back out into the ocean and back to port. We were finally able to dock. You may want to try this the next time it happens.

That's the reason I came on here today. This happened to me yesterday, but not only did I sail through the island. I then teleported from my ship to Tortuga and began walking through the island. Through the mountains and under the water. I logged out several times, but it still showed me sailing. I wrote customer support and today thinking the problem would be fixed, I still can't board my ship. I even purchased another ship to see if I could board that one but of course I can't. Well that was a waste of 4,000 gold. Not much to do in the game if you can't sail, so much for playing over the holiday. O well, Happy Thanksgiving everyone... Arrrr! :turkeydanceani:

Same thing happened to me...My ship is at sea somewhere, and I can't get to it. Sent a bug report, called cust service...we'll see if it works today.

This exact same thing happened to me, and I still cant access my ship. I tried killing myself, logging out and in, and nothing works. I spoke to a CSR who said sometimes if you can get back to the server you logged out on it will fix it, and I wasted a good 30 mins teleporting to every single server on the list and trying to launch, only to still have the same problem. I told the CSRs its pretty ridiculous paying for a game that you cant play(since sailing is a big part of this game and many missions require it), so unless this bug is fixed very soon my account will be canceled.

have you tried selling your ship? bit extreme but if it is not tied to you any longer maybe it would clear.

also what about teleporting to a friend on another ship or joining a crew then boarding their ship. potc is unfortunately full of these kind of issues and so far I have been able to work around them all eventually but it does get irritating.

I got my ship back, pretty quickly actually. I contacted tech support and they said they were aware of the issue and a while later, the game was shut down and when it came back, my ship was back.

Now, however, a friend of mine has the same problem and it's been ongoing for a few days now... we were on his ship when the game froze for all of us (well the sailing part, we could not sail or use cannons) and we had to leave the ship. He has not been able to get his ship back since then. He was told by tech support he needs to go to every ocean until he finds his ship but he has done that and no luck!

It has shown him on his ship on my friends list, up until today. It no longer shows him on ship, however, he still cannot go out and retrieve it.

Any ideas?

Ugh, this happened to me last night. I logged out after waiting a bit, but haven't checked back this morning. I hope my boat isn't permanently out to sea too.

When I had this problem, tech support told me to go back the the server I was on when this happened and try boarding the ship. It never worked for me, but I think they had taken down the server I was on in the time between when I had the problem and when I contacted tech support.

I came back into the game the next day and found everything working just fine again.

Best thing to do would be to go to every server and try boarding the ship, see if what tech support told me works.
If not... well, I don't know. :(

Update, and the news isn't good ...
 

After over 24 hours, I logged back in last night only to find my ship was still out to sea. I can't board it, can't launch it, can't board/launch any of my other ships and I show up as on my ship to my friends. If they try to go to me, they come to where I'm at on dry land.

I had a friend add me to their crew, went to them on their boat, and had them dock, hoping to reset myself. No luck.

I spoke with support via live chat (a very nice feature btw, and Forrest the support guy was very nice) and they told me to try every world. I did that, but no help.

Finally, they said that was the only work-around they had and if it didn't work then there was nothing else that could be done. They said it will be fixed in the next patch - available in a day or two. So for now, I can't use my ships, so I'm playing lots of poker :).

I too have a frigate stuck "out to sea". Very frustrating. I've attempted to board from every sea with no luck. Tried letting the ship timer run out, no help. I've been on and off others ships too. There doesn't seem to be a real workaround for this problem yet. Lets hope theres a fix soon.

Same thing happened to me the other day. My roomate ported to Port Royal where i was sailing through the island. I parked my ship next to the docks, and sure enough, he could see me there

I had this happen too, I had to go to the Ocean that I was originally in and go to the dingy that I originally cast off from, my boat "returned" to me.

That may be the temporary answer for this problem: wait until Disney resets the servers (like when they bring down the game for the next server maintenance/upgrade), then MAYBE your ship will be "docked" again.

I realize it's just a workaround -- they still need to fix the bug -- but, hey, it's an idea.

that's happening to me too.. I was sailing and my cargo was full, I tried to dock but the anchor never showed up.. I had to log out and lose my cargo

Since I got the official "Sorry for the trouble, that will be fixed with the next release" message from support, I was happy to see a new release on test. I figured it wouldn't be far behind on open and I'd be sailing again soon. Just for giggles, I tried launching my ship on open and found I could! There was much pirate celebration.

Yes, my boat was back in the dock yesterday and ready for use, ... after about 3 days out to sea though I was out of practice and promptly got sunk by a Man 'o' War :)
