If POTCO shut down, what would you do?
 

This question is completely hypothetical. I'm in no way saying that there is any indication of Pirates Online shutting down at this moment, and I am not saying it is imminent in the near or far future. This is just a "What If" statement, and should be thought of as such. Do NOT mutiny this thread in to an argument over proof that doomsday for POTCO is upon us.

Should POTCO shut down, what would you do? Where would you go? Would you and all your ingame friends mingrate to a new game, or go their seperate ways? Would you forget about MMOs all together, or find the next-best thing? Really, this is all about how you would handle the situation.

Again, this thread is not meant to provoke study or arguement. This thread is a completely random question, and timing has nothing to do with it.

I would cry...Alot.

Then I would go back to happily playing civilization v. (That game is awesome)

Same as Mr. Awesome. But instead of playing civ, I would play any game with an extreme amount of violence.

Hmm... i would live off POF. i bet we would all migrate to a new game, use POF as kinda launching pad.

I would probably just move to another game.

Would be sad, but I would just return to things that I did in my hiatus from POTCO. None of which included on-line games...

Hmm.... I don't really know what I would do. No other online RPG seems too fun.

It would suck pretty bad, but like most people I would move to a new game.

Shark does have a point-No other MMO is like this one!

I probaly would not play a differant RPG, Shark does have a good point. POTCO is one of a kind.

First I would probably forget about MMO's, then I would go on with life but keep in touch with game friends through other online outlets.

I would keep in touch in pof and look for a new game t play. It would be sad though.

If POTCO does shut down, maybe they will start a new game? Might do that... Otherwise, I have no idea...

First off, I would grieve. I've been playin' POTCO since 12/16/07! I can't just imagine it GOING! I would be pretty upset. I would lose my pirate, my friends, my guild, a whole part of my life. I probably would move to another game. Probably Dungeons and Dragons Online, which I've tried a time or two.

There hasn't been any good content since Raven's Cove, and we were supposed to have the Kraken and a second, major story quest to go with the beast.

I'll continue to pay for the game, but if it goes down hill, I don't care. To Disney this game was just to give hype to the movie, and it's no longer a priority. If it survives, good, but it doesn't deserve the recognition it's been getting. Content comes in WAY too slow compared to other games, and there obviously aren't enough developers working on this game.

Like I said, if it survives, ok, but it better prosper, too. Toontown is lighter years ahead of this game, and not just because it came out before POTCO. I wish Disney would put money into both games so that they could be something bigger.

I enjoy POTCO, and Toontown, but POTCO has gone way down hill, and Toontown seems to be going down with it. Both games haven't seen anything major in over two years(one new island is NOT major), and I'm sick of it. Disney, put money into these games. They have EXTREME potential, and you guys are ruining it because you don't take MMOs seriously enough like WOW developers.

EDIT: Been playing since beta 2, and I will continue to pay to play, but if this game dies, I won't be cryin'.

If POTCO shut down then I would go to my room, turn on my Xbox, and play some Halo. Same as I've been doing for a while now. Until they bring out some content that's worthwhile, then I'm not going to play that much, if at all.

If POTCO shuts down, I would be very upset. Firstly, because I have been playing since Late January/Early February of 2008 and I have heard alot of promises e.t.c. So it would be a major disappointment. I agree with what Mac said, POTCO needs to pick up the pace here. I met alot of great online friends on POTCO, met alot of fantastic guilds. So it would be hard. But I would stay in touch on here and on other potco fansites and other places as well. :) :bookishfj7: :piratewheelgo2:

Lol wow that would stink, i mean this is one of my favorite games! Hope they always live the legend :)

I'd just move back to my other game and focus on message board RPG.

If POTCO shut down, we at least then know 2012 was a fact, and not an opinion...

Yes, I liked Pinky and The Brain. I would still post here on POF and I would play no other MMORPG. I will just continue to play consoles.
