Fixed Glitches: Good or Bad?

So what i want to know is this: Was there a glitch that help/hindered your game play on POTCO?

For me, i was able to make a shrinkin' grog without the volcano gem and they fixed it...:sadmh9:

Empty Kingshead. I loved that glitch, and they took it away. Also, the climbing volcano climbing glitch was fixed, or made much harder to do. I used to love climbing to the top and then dropping down in front of people to see their reactions.

I don't know if anybody ever noticed this but, somehow or someday, they fixed how enemies would attack you while talking to a NPC.
Now, if you talk to a NPC attacking enemies will disengage. Before, they would keep hacking at you, but I found this as good because I could level on outcast with multiple stumps; when my health got low, I'd pay for a full heal at a NPC.

Well, from a technical aspect, it IS good to fix glitches because if left untouched, they can just have a ripple-effect on the entire game and lead to huge faults.

Of course from a player perspective though, it can be fun or "cheating", depending on who you talk to. I personally love finding and exploiting many glitches, except the ones used in PvP/SvS. Because PvP is a competition against other players, I do feel as though it is very unfair when they exploit a glitch. The little sloops that use SvS glitches are by far the WORST in my book.

Then there are glitches like the empty Kingshead one, which it was quite fun to walk around and explore; it adds a new sense of adventure, like how most glitches of this nature will. There's also the raider/DH glitch which is very useful for training (one where you stand still from a distance, you attack, DH switch from dagger to sword, and he just stands there), and also several like that...

I miss the swift foot glitch, the run off the ship glitch, and the pvp glitch. Yes, one can still do the last, but it is much harder and much less common. Also, I've heard the first can still be done, but in much lower quantities. I once got levels 14-18 worth of swift foot on and hit a barrier in the sky...

I totally agree with you on this. Glitching invades the code make-up of the game regardless of what others believe.

Its BAD when they fix a glitch, glitches are fun.

Captain Sharktooth 03-04-2011 11:48 PM

Glitches that are just for fun are the ones they should keep. Glitches that make the game easier are bad, and it is good they get fixed.

stpehen 03-05-2011 12:16 AM

The glitches need to be fixed or the entire game will get screwed up. Remember level 0? That was probably due to people abusing glitches.

Captain Sharktooth 03-05-2011 12:37 AM

Actually, the level zero tag came from a scheduled maintenance in which part of the code (or something like that xD) got messed up. Disney said so....

Empty Kinshead Glitch was awesome!! You have to admit. I do not care much for PvP glitch, but, if it was not a glitch, i think it would be cool the be in pvp on islands.

Mr. Awesome 03-05-2011 07:24 AM

Works for me

The PvP glitch is working just fine believe me :psmiley35: Hey im at noob lvl how do you expect me to pvp people over lvl 20? Also I walked off the ship twice.

Ofury/ Tom 03-05-2011 04:20 PM

My guild nor i suppport using glitches we would rather have dIsney being able to spend more time on making gameplay then having to fix glitches people use to cheat.

Mr. Awesome 03-05-2011 08:53 PM

I never CHEAT I use glitches to pass the time. And I was just kidding about using the PvP glitch to win. I have guild meetings on that island!
