More Servers "Missing"

As a result of Disney's maintenance this morning, more servers were removed from the already previously shortened list. These servers include:

Anegoso
Barten
Bonaam
Caicux
Camaros
Cortos
Frailano
Monosa
Navermo
Navago
Navona
Sabada

....and can't think of others off the top of my head. The Ocean List is, however, unmistakably shorter than before - here is the CURRENT list of servers.

Abassa
Andaba
Andoso
Angama
Angassa
Antama
Antassa
Antik
Barano
Battama
Bequermo
Caicos
Cortevos
Cortola
Estubia
Exuma
Fragilles
Galaria
Guines
Hassigos
Kokojillo
Kokoros
Legassa
Lempona
Levica
Monada
Savica
Tortos
Vachira

At the present time, there is no word from Disney whether these removals are final or not. If you know of any other servers that are missing, just point it out and I'll add it to our missing list.

James Bladefury 02-07-2011 09:08 PM

What about anegoso?

Stephen O'Malley 02-07-2011 09:23 PM

Good grief. This means that trying to find a good looting spot solo will be even more of a pain..

JM Ohara 02-07-2011 09:53 PM

Cortos is gone. Second time my server I played on got removed. I switched to Cortos after Battama got too full for my liking. Went to Battama after Battasa was yanked. ARG!

WitchdoctorDan 02-07-2011 10:00 PM

Not Nevermo! First Galaacare, now Navermo... You'd better be on the ball Disney.

SEAKING23 02-07-2011 10:08 PM

Whats the deal?? at least take out abassa...

Captain Will Cannonfury 02-07-2011 10:12 PM

Why take out the quiet servers? It tis great for fighting in invasions. It doesn't seem right for Disney to do that.

SEAKING23 02-07-2011 10:27 PM

I think they are enough servers though, but the game will probably much more crowed now.

Dog Firestack 02-07-2011 11:07 PM

Exuma has survived!

On the other hand, they should take a survey as to which servers should go bye bye.

They're just names of servers - they are all the same. Abassa is only popular because it was the very top server. Nuke Abassa, and then you will get Andaba. And so on.

CarribeanThunder 02-07-2011 11:33 PM

Eventually, I'm going to say I can forget about fighting Fleets one on one...
Seriously, these server removals are now at the point of nearly pointless. The first set of server removals was OK because it reduced lag. The second set became annoying, and now this!

Also, off topic, but I noticed Toontown received the same server removal.

Captain Jason 02-07-2011 11:36 PM

Kokoros is still in the running.... Anyway, how are people suposed to find places for quiet invasions, or fleets?

mikhailskills 02-07-2011 11:47 PM

Navona is gone too. :(

MacIronhawk 02-07-2011 11:56 PM

It upsets me that they're doing this because server removal to me means, "We're losing money so we need to cut servers so the game can survive".

Well... I don't know what to say. I guess I'll be on less because it'll be near impossible to find a good solo spot to loot. Cutting servers seems pointless to me if they have enough money, so obviously they're losing money so they can't afford to keep servers.

Obviously Disney doesn't care enough about this game to put money into it so it can survive and become a great online game.

Tiberius Fireskull 02-08-2011 12:34 AM

You forgot Mosona.... great, looks like the Sorcerors will need to find a new server... :( Sorry about your loss of Navermo Partners N Crime.

Wow, come on POTCO... do you really need to do this?

Captain Sharktooth 02-08-2011 12:52 AM

That is really weird! Also I was just about to start a thread about that too! I hope it is just a glitch, because less servers = more people per server. On a side note at least Levica is still there! That is my favorite server.

Oh also, the Pixies guild server, Camaros is gone too :(

Catherine Ironcutter 02-08-2011 01:04 AM

Seriously, keep in mind not EVERYONE wants a solo server. Other people are probably jumping for joy that there will be more people on each server.

Trust me. You'll still be able to find servers where you only find one or two people in a hour of playing. This isn't the end of the world.

Of course, I prefer quiet servers, since I like to go to Tormenta and pound on the enemies there for hours at a time all by myself (I've gotten a couple of really nice famed there so far, actually...) Fragilles is my server of choice, followed by whatever quiet server the Pixies have chosen as the server of choice for the day. But if a couple of other people happen to be pounding on the Thralls? I'll go to the bridge. It's not a big deal. Make a list of favorite looting places, and run through them on your server until you find someplace with nobody there. If there's one person at Darkhart? Ask if you can join them. More people equal faster looting. Remember that ;)

titanic95594 02-08-2011 01:10 AM

Great....Now our guild has got to find a new server to hang on.

As much as I'd love to agree with you, I can't. For one thing, most people would simply go to Vachira or Andana or places of the sort, which are the more populated servers. Also, like many others, I choose to work alone - without strangers to bother me.

I'm sure there are logical reasons for the several Server removals we've had, but I hope "We want people to socialize!" is not one of them...

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, though...

Yeah, I agree with you. Isn't there another way they could reduce lag or? :bookishfj7: :piratewheelgo2:

ruisen2000 02-08-2011 01:19 AM

lol, I think POTCO is trying to hide the fact that there's not a ton of ppl playing POTCO anymore...
Man thats a short list of servers remaining!

JM Ohara 02-08-2011 01:30 AM

Ok so I talked to Live chat about this while I was asking about a different issue. At first I got a very interesting response.

"We are not allowed to comment on server removal at this time. Where did you hear about the server removal."

*Scratches head* I said to him, Um, the in game list? I proceeded to list a few of the missing servers.

So the live chat guy says to me, The removal of the servers is the finishing of the removal from last fall. We hope you will enjoy the new format (blah blah blah)

In short, as with the other removal, this too is permanent. DRAT!

Tiberius Fireskull 02-08-2011 01:32 AM

Good job Disney! You have once again succeeded in making your players less than satisfied with your game. Keep up the work so you can continue to make us upset!

Captain Del 02-08-2011 01:36 AM

I highly doubt these removals are due to lack of money, nor lack of players. I don't see why every time POTCO does something to reduce the game, people suddenly jump on the Dooms Day wagon, while when they release a new update, people are all rejoicing. If POTCO had no money, then why would they be working on Infamy, when they could work on their finances?

The sad thing is that they are probably doing this, for the "Everybody be social!," reason, especially with Infamy coming along. But honestly, it's not like you can never ever find an open spot in-game. Now the server list is pretty much even - instead of it being 30% being Ideal, and 70% being Quiet, it's closer to 45 - 55.

And for those of you that are concerned, I just walked by three completely empty servers, out of the three Quiet servers I randomly went to. Enjoy.

Crestshot 02-08-2011 01:46 AM

It still seems rather ridiculous. I mean, they JUST did a server removal. If it was something like lag, I could understand that. If it was something like money, I could understand that, but it's like Del said; they've obviously been working hard on Infamy, and other good updates over the past year. It sounds as if they have the money to do that, rather than concentrate to severely on their finances.

If it's for the "We want you to find new friends! Crew day, yay!!!!!!!!" they can find some other pirate. I'd rather not have more chances to get bugged, bothered, and abused over the internet.

And, on a personal note, Seriously Disney? Both Navermo AND Camaros? Partners and Pixies, ASSEMBLE!!!

Tiberius Fireskull 02-08-2011 01:50 AM

^You forgot Mosona. According to Del's list of remaining servers us Sorcerors need a new server too... count the Sorcerors in. We've had that server as ours since summer...

titanic95594 02-08-2011 02:03 AM

This is just great. No more quiet time in Tormenta anymore!

Exactly! They JUST removed a fair amount of servers. Even if they felt they had to remove a few more i would've been fine with that, but dang, they removed far too many! I was just logged on and there were more ideal servers than quiet ones. This will just create more problems among pirates who already cry about rep stealing, etc.

I will miss Cortos, that was a favorite of mine when i wanted quiet plundering...Camaros and Navermo were also among the 4 or 5 quiet servers i preferred.

Machazzard 02-08-2011 03:10 AM

I went on live chat earlier and asked them a few questions about the test server maintenance and the live servers being taken away. The rep told me that they are doing a heavy duty maintenance on test and the same to many servers on live. He said if the servers were gone for good then they'd announce it on the web site. However, do to his vagueness, the servers could be gone for good, though he made it fairly clear that they were coming back.

With this in play, and there being a maintenance on the servers, my GM brought up a crazy awesome idea....... PVP SERVERS!

Idk about you guys, but it all makes sense and links together. I think PvP servers would be the best thing to ever happen to PotCO.

Tiberius Fireskull 02-08-2011 03:13 AM

True that it is possible that they may be testing some PvP servers... but I'm not sure that they would take a bunch away, this many too. I would think that about five PvP servers would do...

Charles Darkwolf 02-08-2011 03:14 AM

The Peaceful Crusader server Barten is gone! This is SO NOT COOL!! I loved Barten!!!

Machazzard 02-08-2011 03:20 AM

I would say 5 is not enough. With almost an entire population of pirates trying to get their badges once the update comes, you would probably need a little bit more then 5.

Tiberius Fireskull 02-08-2011 03:23 AM

^True... but maybe you can only spend a certain amount of time per day on the server, as to limit who goes on it. Like, you can only spend 2 hours on a PvP server before you are placed on a regular server. Still, you're right. Maybe something like 10.

Machazzard 02-08-2011 03:28 AM

This is just speclation of course. haha maybe they are just having some serious server issues. For instance, the game is buggin pretty badly right now. No one in my guild is getting rep and some even have that level 1 glitch.

My former guild's favorite, Cortilles was always fun. It was taken away in the Fall before Raven's Cove or shortly after. Afterwords, I used Cruzaire now I need to find another server as well. I'm with you Del, and Crest :bookishfj7: :piratewheelgo2:

SEAKING23 02-08-2011 03:38 AM

Its a great idea...

- lighting strikes brain - i was thinking that there could be servers where you could choose to be eitc/skeleton/pirate and you could fight each other. maybe you could gain infamy for that. what do you guys think? i think it would remove all the problems about the eitc/skeleton guilds suggestion.

Not true. Just because they remove servers doesn't actually mean they are removing "physical servers" these servers can be virtual and can all reside on a few physical servers. They may be removing some virtual servers but that is hardly a cost cutting move but more of a strategic or business move of some sort.

Also added to the list of removed "servers" is Bonaam which I used most of the time.

StellaInTheSky 02-08-2011 07:19 PM

/facepalm. No more Navermo or Bonaam...pretty much rules out me doing invasions anymore. It's beyond me why they're going to come out with a major update and remove so many servers before hand. Whatever. I'm quite tired of trying to guess why Disney does anything they do...

SEAKING23 02-08-2011 07:28 PM

I really think someone i hacking potco.. i mean, check the release notes. the site was closed for some time. level 0's. before all that, people where getting DC like crazy.

Lord Calico 02-10-2011 06:13 PM

You forgot Caicaux too, the Order's new guild server. We chose it the day before it disappeared. :/ And btw, it couldn't hurt to at least TRY dropping Abassa, maybe then the weirdos that hang out there would spread out a little more and be easier to handle.

Captain NightWolf 02-11-2011 12:29 AM

Well this can be either a good thing or a bad thing...good because more people will be on the servers which = meeting new friends, etc...

Bad = drama people like on Abassa spreading out onto other servers; and/or for those who liked solitude your world may be getting smaller now...

At any rate, while happy to see BBK's home server of Battama still up, I am kinda saddened by the lost of Desaruae (or however it was spelled) since it was the first server I played on and would go to for quiet time...same for Camaros...they will be missed...

bartholomew bladeroberts 02-11-2011 02:39 AM

As far as potco getting hacked that's a truly scary thought i mean look at all of your computer info in the bug report ridiculous

The Stealthy Pirate 02-11-2011 10:42 PM

The DA's Bequermo survives!

Captain Seafarer CO. 02-16-2011 03:07 PM

Aww man!!! I used to go to Antiano for ever!!!! Now it's bloody gone!

Been away from the game for a while and noticed me server gone, came here, did a little search and here I am posting my condolences... bah!

Chimera Doll 02-16-2011 08:53 PM

They really need to stop taking away servers! I hope they bring some back.

Perhaps Disney is making a new game and is pulling servers from other games to support it? I doubt it, but somebody should check the other games, it's either the new game thing, or just a bunch got corrupted.... Not likely, being that they all worked before they took them out.
I want all the quiet-er servers back, Disney! :degen:

Nate Raidhawk 02-27-2011 06:16 PM

Wanna know something weird... I was on Kokoago ( removed ) a few months ago and saw ALL of the Gm's on the dock saying they were having a meeting. The next day, the server was removed.

On a side note: Battira, Romana, Capellago, Deseano, Galaacare, and more were removed before this.

I have been saying that for the last year or so. This game will barely hold on to life until POTC 4. Then it will hold its breath for a few more months... Then just like VMK it will go out with no further notice.

WitchdoctorDan 03-02-2011 11:15 PM

Learn to dance in the rain, guys. At least we're better off than Pirates of the Burning Sea. On the EU/EN build you get 2 servers and a Test server. We have several and two Test servers. :P

I doubt it. this game is making A LOT of money. go on abassa. even the people who have nothing better to do than sit around and yell are UA.

I only see like 1 or 2 basics a day now. But really, disney is going to have to recognize that this game is a marketing tool and start putting effort. the only thing we can do about it is go on strike!

WeirdBeard 03-03-2011 12:53 AM

Hmm...?

How come they took them out, ye think?:psmiley27:

SEAKING23 03-03-2011 01:22 AM

Cause they don't know how to run a game. you don't have to read the profiles that they are noobs at this business like the ones they let run rampant in the game

WitchdoctorDan 03-03-2011 10:01 PM

I would say that they could use a Business Major or two, but they are pretty skilled at what they do. (Making games, that is) They've made a pretty good game out of a terrible engine, so I applaud them.
