Animations For Avatars
Does anyone know how to use an animation for an avatar? And what can I use to make it? Thanks!
|
I have been trying to make some avvies lately, I just don't know what to use. I would like to know........
|
Got GIMP? It's a free program (Linux-Based) that can be downloaded on all OS.
The website: gimp.org Download: Hit the button that says DOWNLOAD. How to animate 64x64 Avvies: Go to I think tools, Animate, the click an option. It should give you another doucument. From there, on the new document, click Tools, Animation, the GIF Preview. You then have you animated avvie... |
Merci, MPO. Been trying to figure that out for a while.
|
Thanks, I'll see if that works.
EDIT: I got it installed and everything, but how can I go to tools and then animate? I can't find tools and I don't know where I should look. |
Filters>Animation
My Bad :) It's on the top Jason. |
I fail I think. Okay, sorry about this, but if I'm looking at my desktop, what do I do exactly? Sorry, I can't find Filters or Tools, and when I do it isn't anything useful.

Does this help?
|
For some reason, I can't open it. Not the filters thing, I mean the GIMP thing itself. It installed correctly as far as I know.
|
Whats your OS?
|
64 bit operating system. Windows 7 Home Premium.
|
Is there another program I can use besides GIMP? It won't open.... Please and thank you.
|
FIrst of all it is unstable for Windows 7.
Second, I don't know any other programs besides GIMP & Photoshop... |
Adobe Photoshop? I think my computer has that.
Edit: Yeah, I just checked and I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0, and I also have Adobe Premier Elements 7.0. I can use those? |
So my GIMP won't work so I have tried Photoshop. I used it, made a really cool image... I tried to upload it to POF, it said it was an invalid file, it wouldn't let me change the file type to anything.
|
Photoshop is actually preferred.
GIMP is for those who don't have money to buy PS... LOL Jason, PE is for video editing... Have fun with that. And Sharky, whats the file type? |
Okay, I made a slideshow type thing with Photoshop, but when I tried to upload it it said file invalid or something like that. It was a Windows Media Audio/Video file. Do I need to change that, and if so, how can I? By the way thanks for the help.

I tried changing it, but the only save option is WMF. What should I do?
|
At the end of the file name, just manually type .GIF
And what did you use to make it? Premiere Elements or Photoshop? |
Photoshop like you said. When I try to type on it nothing happens. Do I need to change my settings or something?
|
Can I get a screenshot maybe? Your case is very odd...
|
Heres a picture, hope it helps. I know it's really small but I'm not sure how to make it bigger. (I accidently highlighted the wrong thing so don't pay any attention to it.)
|
Well, I actually got my Photoshop thing to work, so everything is good now :D

Yes, but when I tried the only option to save it as was WMV. I'll try again differently and see if it works.
EDIT: Tried it again, it didn't work that way either. |
How odd... Can't help ya anymore Jason. Its turning into one of those things where you have to be there... Sorry.

If you want text animated: Make the text and size of your thing. Next. Go to File>Save as. Save it as gif. And don't flatten Merge. Click- Save as animation. Don't greyscale. Click save, It will take you a place, Just click save (Or do a comment) Then your done. ~Sail Forever! Juju :dancetl6: |
