Free Account or Paid Account?
 

I started playing Pirates on a lark and am only using a free account. It is unlikely I will ever pay to play, but I just wondered what the split was between free accounts and paid accounts among the members here.

Currently, I'm paying. I'm was really close to the max on the Black Pearl... So I just decided to buy it. There are quite a few more people online that don't play I think.

I'm paying for now and I signed up as a founder. I figured if it turned out that I didn't care for the game I could always get my money back from selling the real map we get on eBay. :laughks2: (-kidding-) :laughks2:

I'm still playing on the test server. The basic game is a joke.

PLayed basic till lvl 3 then switched to unlimited

I like this version a whole lot better than the first one and its more fun to play now. i got really bored with TT and it was a easy decision to just order pirates. :jackhat:

If I could I'd pay to play.. for now, they aren't accepting non a other than american or canadian issued credit cards.

pay through paypal, they let anyone sign up through that.

I'm paying. I want the bigger ships, etc.

I signed up with an Australian credit card - the only thing I had to do was pick a US state, because the rego wouldn't go through without one. Other than that the rest of my details are correct.

Idk what server I am playing on.... I heard on the test you can't access all the weapons and such but it seems I am able to..........

If you have a basic account, you can't level very far or access all the quests/weapons. If you're on unlimited, you can. In the game, basic user names are in gray, while the unlimited user names are in gold.

I did not see paypal as a pay option when I tried to sign up. Just the three credit cards I don't have. I even called and they couldn't tell me that?

While the basic game may be bad, I definetly don't think that the full game is work 10 bucks a month. Especially considering that I have a job and I don't think it would be worth the work for this game. Personally, I think the whole game, full(from what I've seen) and basic, was a huge let down.

You won't lose your level on Test. That will remain the same. But I dread starting over on open.
I wish they hadn't made payment possibilities so limited. Now I have to wait for a credit card to pay for this thing.

I signed up for the $4.95 first month, but I'm not sure I'm going to keep the subscription. Anyone know what happens to your account if you cancel? Can you just go back to the free access version?

I've got a free account now, but might get a paid one to get the little extras.

I play for free. At the point I'm at in the game, i don't need any other weapons. For the advance ships, I just join random crews of subscribed members and sink ships on their ships-works well since the captain still gets his money.

I am considering upgrading later on whne it's more vital. I was so ticked when I sailed to Cuba, took me 3 tries, and when I got their found out to get VooDoo I needed to upgrade :p

Hell yes, paid for and well enjoying it.. Same deal as what the other australians did, just selected a us state and it went through on my CC

Sif 40% less rep, and lvl caps and ad's...

I'm playin' free for now. I have a strong feeling about paying though... even though I don't want to pay for anything. :S
