Inception!

I know that this movie was out during the summer (or early fall was it...?) and this may be late, but I am curious to see who has seen it. It actually recently came out on DVD.

For those of you that have seen it, ISN'T IT ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES EVARR?!

For those of you that have not, you need to get to your local wherever you buy your DVDs. It basically revolves around these people that can manipulate people through dreams, with the main character as this guy who's wife went insane from it (its much more complex, but I will keep it simple) and he has been separated from his kids. In the end, he sorta dies in the dream world, so he goes into this other realm sort of thing. In the end, you never know if he is in the dream or the real world. Amazing ending. And yes I know, that was uber simplified.

Who has seen this movie? And any comments on it?

Crestshot 12-14-2010 06:18 AM

Inception = Epic awesome confusion. And makes me question reality. That's pretty much all you CAN say about this movie, haha.

And yes, uber simplified.

Tiberius Fireskull 12-14-2010 06:20 AM

Actually, there is this theory some crazy person came up with that said that we are living in a dream currently. Its like the song we learned as preschoolers. "Row row row your boat, bla bla bla life is but a dream..."

I actually saw it at the grocery store today and wanted to buy it sooooo bad... I guess it will be mah Christmas gift?

pieisbetter2 12-14-2010 06:22 AM

^ditto^

I LOVE that movie! Dang it you Davy, now you make me want to see it again ._. Ima go beg for the DvD now :) Oh, and Cresvy, Inception = most epic awesome confusing move of epictacularness EVER

jason davy 12-14-2010 06:22 AM

I feel like I need to see it again to understand everything that went on. And I like to believe it fell after the camera cut away. ;)

Tiberius Fireskull 12-14-2010 06:24 AM

I know! Also, if you look at the kids, they didn't age or change clothes... or so I believe... if I'm right, then that would mean that he's still in a dream... whats the guy's name again... I'm bad with names. I loved the ending though. Perfect for the movie.

pieisbetter2 12-14-2010 06:27 AM

I forget his name ._. but at the ending, i started yelling at the screen xD It's a bad thing to yell at a screen in a movie theater ._. But it's true, they didn't age and maybe it still IS his dream.

jason davy 12-14-2010 06:31 AM

Yeah, his kids looked exactly like they did in the little flashes throughout the movie, and he talked about how everyone wants to attack you when you are in a dream, and everyone was after him in the "real" world the whole time....??? But at the end, it didn't seem like people were chasing him anymore but then again, we didn't see much after they got off the plane...

But of course, why wouldn't a movie that screws with your mind have an ending that screws with your mind. lol

Crestshot 12-14-2010 06:41 AM

Haha, true that Davy. I really need to see it again, but it's one of those movies where you can see it a million times, and there will still be some detail you missed before. Honestly, it's a brilliantly written piece. However, if they even think about doing a sequel, I will go mad.

Tiberius Fireskull 12-14-2010 06:48 AM

Yea. Its one of those perfect denumeau endings.. however you spell that.. like a cliffhanger thing :P

This is off topic from Inception, but the one movie I do want a sequel for is Avatar...

Chris Ironhawk 12-14-2010 06:53 AM

********SPOILER ALERT******************SPOILER ALERT******************SPOILER ALERT**********

LOL nice Summary, Davy. I LOVE that movie. that's one to buy on iTunes so you can watch it over and over and over again, wherever you go. (I feel like I am advertising iTunes :P)

James Cameron did confirm there will be at least one Avatar sequel and I read somewhere he said he has a "trilogy-scaled story" or something like that. I thought Avatar was a good movie but after allllll the hype, it didn't really meet my expectations. If you're interested, Mike Stoklasa of Red Letter Media did a hilarious (but definitely legit) review of Avatar. (He also did reviews of the Star Wars prequels....most epic things you'll ever watch LOL.)

I saw it very recently, and it really messes with your head. I had a dream that night, and everything is true.

And life COULD be a dream. You sorta just end up in the middle of it, right? You don't remember the beginning?
Tell me, can any of ya remember anything below the age of three?
Freaky, ain't it?

^._. thats for sure. I don't even remember being three. Ya know, I love thinking like this. There is always that mystery about life, like "Hey, is it all real, or is my mind playing a trick on me?"

Jack Sharkbane 12-14-2010 07:26 AM

Well, if dreams is all you live, then it IS your reality.
It's at this point where you question your own mortality.
This actually reminds me a helluva lot of The Matrix.

Tiberius Fireskull 12-15-2010 12:21 AM

Reality is a point of view. I'm sure there are some crazy people out there that consider COD or WoW their reality xD. Most likely they haven't left their room in days. I mean, who knows, maybe this is all just a dream... wait, if this is just a dream then I can go and bomb all my tests! :D jk lol. Anyway, it is an interesting theory really.

Jack Shipsteel 12-15-2010 12:51 AM

Reality is but a figment of your imagination. You must mold it into being.

Sorry, had to go deep there....

Inception was epicly confusing, but the theory of dreams within dreams within dreams are, to say the least, astounding, and how do we know what is real? How can we be sure that all we do by typing these letters is actually US dreaming?

pieisbetter2 12-15-2010 12:55 AM

Exactly. So like if I were to be banned on Potco, should I care, or is all just a dream and I'll happen again tomorrow night? It's all a theory that can be thought, but never proved.

I remember one time when i was 2.. freaky!

You should be able to do that to enemy's with voodoo dolls...

Every enemy would suddenly have "lemonade" on there pants.. if you get my drift...

The Evil Will Mcbain 12-15-2010 03:08 AM

Life is not a dream guys. Some people wish it were, but it isn't. Don't think too hard about movies like that.

Crestshot 12-15-2010 03:14 AM

Aww, Will comes in and ruins it for all of us brimming with hope that it doesn't matter, haha.

Whether you believe this is a dream or not, it does, in fact, still matter. So don't bomb your tests or get banned on POTCO. Your "dream life" will not be happy, nor will the other people in your dream life. The figments of your imagination and dream life tell you it matter, and therefore you tell yourself it matters, etc. etc. However unfortunately, haha.

Tiberius Fireskull 12-15-2010 03:23 AM

Heey guys... I was at the supermarket today and guess what movie I bought?

And no Mr. Shipsteel, it is not related to noobs, root beer, meat, or rum. Or banning. Or any other thing you may come up with other than the correct answer.

Crestshot 12-15-2010 03:26 AM

What happened to Christmas, Mr. Fireskull?

Tiberius Fireskull 12-15-2010 03:31 AM

Inception must be gotten now. Christmas is not close enough. I won't watch it until Friday anyway because of finals....

Jack Shipsteel 12-15-2010 04:32 AM

Supermarket.. what would you buy at a supermarket... I GOT IT!

Super Powers!!!!!

I kid, and a good idea on when to watch it.

Captain Del 12-15-2010 11:25 PM

In truth, everything around us is a dream, while we ourselves live in reality. We allow ourselves to be flooded by lost visions of prosperity and joy that we just allow to seep in to reality, creating a cloud of what might be instead of what is. Our perception is clouded by a dream that shapes over reality.

Then what are dreams, then? Is one having a dream truely having a dream within a dream? Has our realm of reality become the dream, and we ourselves gone to such a point where having a dream within reality is having a dream within a dream, with only being in a single dream? Or are we always living in a dream?

;)

Tiberius Fireskull 12-15-2010 11:32 PM

I have no clue what you just said, but it sounded smart.

SEAKING23 12-16-2010 12:36 AM

Davy, he meant that we sometimes we false promises of riches and happiness and what not.

See? i'm smart!

Tiberius Fireskull 12-18-2010 08:28 PM

I just watched Inception again last night. It was a good movie. And I think Mr. Cobb was trapped in the Limbo. His children looked the exact same as they did when he left home years ago, so his vision of them is what his memory was, which is them as young kids.

Jack Sharkbane 12-22-2010 06:14 PM

Well, let me tell you this: Whatever you see, feel, think, breathe... Whatever you believe your reality is, that IS your reality. Reality is a point of view.

The thing with Cobb is that, yes, maybe it's a dream, but he's happy. And that's all that matters to your minds reality.
