Old Sailing music

1 Attachment(s)
I heard some people wanted the old sailing Music, here it is

Tiberius Fireskull 11-28-2010 11:11 PM

My goodness... when I heard that music... I had a little flashback, back to when my pirate was little... sailing on my little Light Galleon... in my teen levels, with a couple close friends, so excited to go off and sink those Navy Ships and without a care in the world, back when I was still so ignorant about the game... amazing what just a little tune can do... all these new updates are great, but am I the only person who misses the old Pirates Online?

Thanks for showing that to us Basil, I really miss that music... POTCO, PUT IT BACK IN!!!

Aye this song brings tears to my eyes. ( For some, a tear to my eye, since they have a eye patch) I remember when I was low lvl I was so ignorant, I use to say " Where is Jack Sparrow?!" Or was one of the first to attack a bad GM. Hard to believe, but I think everyone grew up a little in the game; we don't go into things head first, we always think before we do something, which shows us how much we changed.

swordshot 11-28-2010 11:30 PM

Music too my ears... thanks Basil! Rep for you!

Basil Darkratte 11-28-2010 11:53 PM

They should put the music back in. When the ship is not in combat, ( Idle) It should play. It can go from the new music to the old from time to time, just like what they did with the islands.

pieisbetter2 11-28-2010 11:59 PM

Wow, the memories. I agree Davy, I miss Potco in the old days.

P.S. Where do you find the old music? I really want to find it lol.
P.S.S. This is like My favorite of the old music tyvm :P

Eric o rackham 12-15-2010 06:38 AM

Ahhh, I used to love that music, back when ships still had the one-hour timer..Memories.

Chris Ironhawk 12-15-2010 07:26 AM

Like many of you said, it brings Tera to my eyes. I remember when Chris was just a wee little pirate, fresh out the Rambleshack. I really miss those care-free days. This music was when Chris was in his teens-20's. He is mastering in a little over a week. They grow up so fast. This HAS to be the BEST old song there is. I hope Disney puts it back in.

The timer? I forgot why they had it in, but if you kept sailing until 0:00 you would be automatically sunk. -_- I lost SO many great cargos because of that, they took it out around the privateer starting.

i remember once it was down to 13mins.... i paniced and got off lol

SEAKING23 12-16-2010 03:28 AM

Aah i don't remember it.. but it should be the idle music, and the new one the fighting music.. now that would be cool.

CarribeanThunder 12-16-2010 03:31 AM

This song is the very definition of the word, "nostalgia."

Tiberius Fireskull 12-16-2010 03:38 AM

I could listen to this song all day and not get bored... I wish POTCO would put it back in...

JackGoldStack 12-20-2010 07:16 PM

Hah i remember going to the End of the world and do the sleep emote and wait till sunrise and sail to tortuga and drink some RUM, Aye Aye, good times good times pal

Captain Michael 03-03-2011 12:23 AM

Aww! This song reminds me when I was a small pirate too! I want it back in... it's like a happy song instead of the scary sounding one right now! It also sounds like a happy song at the end of a movie... of course the movie ended in a happy mood :).

Tobias Daggercrash 03-03-2011 10:18 AM

i had joined sometime after padres reconstruction. But This music is Very good, i say too tht it should be idle music. the tune is similar to Titanic. Love It...:dancetl6:

Tobias badkid 03-06-2011 08:33 AM

Captain Sharktooth 03-06-2011 09:07 AM

Robert Ironcastle 09-20-2011 12:05 AM

Oh the nostalgia,me on my light galleon going after sea vipers and thinking two treasure chests was epic.Thank you Basil. This made my day.

Pirate Miranda 09-20-2011 12:38 AM

I've been wanting some songs of the Caribbean, can you tell me where you exactly found it? Thanks.

Johnny Darkwalker 09-20-2011 01:08 AM

the only real memories of me being on the old potco was me sink ships in a tiny light sloop, fighting alligators, and going into port royal's old fort. memories :D

titanic95594 09-21-2011 10:55 PM

I remember when I only stuck in Port Royal and Tortuga when I was a noob. I thought those islands just amaze me. If I only there was a time machine for me to explore the other islands to and see my all-time favorites. For now on I am listening to this music when I go sailing. It made sailing so peaceful and the song also made me think of adventure.

Davy_Mcwrecker 09-25-2011 03:31 AM

Not fair, man!

They added back the old island music for day time a new island music for night time, but for sailing? NO!

Just by submitting enough feedback, disney brought back old island music to the new islands.

I'm sure the same can be accomplished for the "Sailing" activity if you guys submit to bring back the old stand-by music that would play after a pirate/player lets go of the wheel.

Same thing happened to me, I very much prefer this music, but perhaps alternating between the two tunes? like the islands.

Ice_Storm 10-19-2011 09:17 PM

This music didn't go away. It still exists in the game files.

However, only if the community would send in a lot of feedback to bring back this sailing_e.mp3 music back, the developers won't even consider implementing a random cycle batch code in the program to make this load during "High Seas".

If I remember correctly, this music would start playing if no player was driving the ship, or even on the wheel. It would start playing the "standby" music for everyone on-board.

Good times.

Just need code to load it again from the developers to hear it again though, guys.

The new sailing music is good and dramatic, but to be honest it is so strong that after a while I have to turn down the sound or take off the earphones. I agree: The old music for sailing around and the new would be great for combat.

I have not seen any credits for POTCO yet. I'm wondering who wrote the music. It's not half bad. (Of course, expect Disney Studios to employ the best.)

I have become composer-conscious since I became acquainted with a number of composers lately, particularly a very extraordinary young man who composes very sophisticated music for film and computer games, and is completely self-taught.

I'm also wondering if any more of the current and past POTCO music is available for download. I wouldn't mind having some of it.
