THIS IS WHAT MAKES SVS AND GAME INTERESTING TO PLAY

Ok master of the SVS. What are the best strategies for this? I have tried it and it seems impossible not to get sunk by all you crazy mad men out there. lol My guild wants to try this, and I would also like to take them on a partly successful run out there. :)

LOL, Master of SvS, I'm not yet. There are many different ships you see there with high bounty and score(Mine is Golden Lion). Here are a few tips http://www.piratesonlineforums.com/f...ad.php?t=17792
Need to practice for a while tho to get as good as everyone else and remeber ANDABA IS THE MAIN SVS SERVER.:dancetl6:

seafox 11-02-2010 06:19 PM

hmm...thats my boat in lead on left side...which means you got my bounty...but I'm not gonna call you Master just yet Leo rofl Lady Violet....:)

Lady Violet 11-02-2010 06:25 PM

lol. I was being sarcastic with the "master". Hee hee. Thanks for the tips. I will be sure to get nice and warmed up to come steal all ur bounty one day, ha ha ! :)

Pirate Bood 11-04-2010 11:56 PM

Hehe Seafox, Leo is a a top svser, and yes if you dont see Golden Lion with top bounty u often see Wicked Wrath with it, both Team SVS ships.
We are a dedicated svs guild, and yes sometimes it feels like it is just us and a few others thats keeping svs alive. At the moment a LOT of svsers have gone to other games, if u ask them why they left its because they feel ignored when they report issues. Whatever Disneys reason for not getting right on the problems the fact remains that subscriptions are being lost.
And yes, Disney its why I pay for three accounts...

You know I sent Disney a message asking them to acknowledge the use of the term 'SVS' in chat so that it doesnt appear in italics, so that speed chat people can read and write it instead of writing 'ship versus ship' or 'privateering' (which can be a pain to write in a hurry when u are all fired up because you are svsing) and so that we can type our guild name for all to understand, its a small thing but as yet also over looked.

Read Leo's tips, they are the best and come to see us on French Isle Andaba if you would like to get into svs, we all had to practice to get where we are now, but thats not hard when u are having fun :)

Hmm.. and here I was thinking this was about svs and not endorsement of guilds Silky...and btw..(. I have sunk both those boats more than once. :) Takes a full, top notch crew tho so kudos.)

I agree on what needs to be done...many of us contact Dis every week...sometimes daily.

Opening boats to public on a particular early evening one day a week just to give new players a chance to participate with the major players would spark long-term interest .

I have seen a lot of new players just this week...they do not have better cannon rams and rarely have many gunners....so I am impressed to see them keep launching. Its a good feeling to see a crowd in svs.

Be a noob, buy a sloop. Ok? Then you have to have friends with fury. you need mastered sailing. then you go up to big ships like a war frigate and then use the fury and broadsides. If it attacks you, go super fast and broadside as ur friends use fury. Thats how you be a noob! :laughks2:

Let me point about that THIS IS ALL ABOUT SVS therefore leave all guild conflicts and notoriety out of it. And swordshot if you don't like SvS don't call them who want to try it or like it "noobs". If you don't have any support for SvS and want to write something negative or something that will start drama Please do not write it at all. Also as i said I'm Golden Lion and as you see There is Victory Star, Fugitive Raven, Bountyhunter Fish, Mystical Shark, Fugitive Fox with High Bounty/Score and those are not all so Plz do not Name who is best or the greatest because there will always be someone better than another!

Thank You Very Much for helping new players get into SvS and for supporting SvS to become better. Also sorry about the whole guild misunderstandings Because I want this to be 100 % about SvS. See ya in the game!

Midhav 11-05-2010 08:13 PM

I believe that more Privateering features just MIGHT be coming... And that's something I'm excited about, eve though SvS is not currently (but was) my favourite part of the game.

The phase files talk of Boarding Axes, Spyglasses, etc.. And these are great when you think of the potential of this. Back in 2009 fall, at the L.A Conference I believe Disney did unofficially announce a form of boarding enemy SvS ships. These could be connected to that.

New ships coming, cannon rams, possible lvl upgrades, cannon weapon classes, ship customization... Once they come out (along with a ton of incredible ideas PotCo CAN put into SvS), Privateering will be as fun as the first thought of it.

I'd basically want SvS to be not limited to Privateering. Make French and Spanish allegiances permanent and balanced, while general SvS should happen between pirate ships in the Uncharted Waters. A third faction for Privateering is an idea to be acknowledged as well.

Ultima 11-05-2010 10:41 PM

I started svs when it first came out I have not svs in awile I have been doing other things in the game I'll get my levels and see about getting back into it.

Hey Miss Molly/Seafox :) I thought that was you I was commenting too, I know you have sunk both the ships I mentioned as have many others because we all sink, dont u love the challenge;)
My point is Leo and Davy/Hullfury/Horus have been around a long time, consistantly at the top, that makes everyone chase you all the time eeeekkkk, I mean over two years of being chased for that top bounty makes peoples aim very sharp :) And makes some hot heads too; we have heard every gripe, seen every crazy update, and every change in competition and we are still playing this game to svs, because it doesnt get old.

Its great having u in svs seafox, looking forward to some more challenging battles very soon :)

PS Midhav, sounds great, lets not lose the great things about this formula in getting new stuff though, the idea of clonking each other with battle axes in svs is wow beyond my wildest dreams hehehehe!

LoL i think that beats all the Pics i put here- WAR GALLON WITH BOUNTY- nice job

PS : Do not use war gallon if you're new to SvS, it takes a very good crew and great skill to get hight bounty with war gallon, like Adhy.

Adhy 18 11-14-2010 02:55 AM

we had great story with war galleon,. full tacking very need to ride this bath tube,. and that also prove great gunner can shot from any type of ship... :P

Tiberius Fireskull 11-14-2010 02:58 AM

Aye, ye need to be careful with War Galleons. I'm no SvS expert, but it doesn't take an expert to know that War Galleons are not the best choice in SvS unless you really know what you are doing. They are slow, big, and easy targets. I prefer my War Frigate. Descent speed, good fire power, and great armor.

Countainer7b 11-14-2010 05:22 AM

right i wonder how a sotl will do .war frigate or war sloop is better if u don't know what your doing war gallons are powerful in the right hands like a good sword in the hands of a lvl 1 (assuming they can use it) wouldn't use it well but a level 35+ would do well with it.

seafox 11-14-2010 09:14 AM

Can't resist sharing some good times in svs...

Also, would like to encourage more gals to try svs(ship pvp). If you want to go with me...pm me so I can get back to you.

It doesn't matter if you aren't a mastered sailor or gunner yet. It helps...lol...but you can still enjoy it and learn whether you like it or not. If you like sailing in the game, and aren't impatient with getting sunk a few times..come try it.:dancetl6:

I never good at gunning,...

seafox 11-14-2010 07:32 PM

Whoa... wait a sec...Adhy you a gal? I know you aren't a beginner at anything svs...:zn3m0z:

You are always welcome on any boat of mine tho... :sailr:

And if someone would bring back the contest Tuesdays...twould be awesome!!:zu04m1:

leo 11-14-2010 07:49 PM

Hehe

LoL, Adhy is not new to SvS and he good at all type of of ships and i hope he gets back to game soon.

As for Gallons, i WOULD NOT recommend them so soon for new SvSers(privateers) because they are easy to sink unless you have a great crew and you know how to sail.(still very hard)

If SvS bugs are fixed then i Hope some old svsers would come back to the game making possible the contest again that was once hosted by Phil and Andrea.
To help SvS please continue to Email disney and follow instructions on http://www.piratesonlineforums.com/f...ad.php?t=17729

Adhy 18 11-14-2010 08:37 PM

yippie,. thx seafox,.. when i'm free,. will bring back membership
galleon mean salvage, LOL..
leo,. i say gunning lol,. me bad at it... when i gun,. even ship on my nose my shot miss probability is 70% lol
talk about contest,. will be great if come back again,. even me not do it,. eh,. do it 2 times,. :)
guess we need another person to host it,..
bravo adhy !!! ops,. SvS ,...

Hey everyone,

I love svs! Always fun to sail with diffrent captians and see there diffrent stratigies. And I have found most are open to suggestions on how to better there battle. I hope that the glitches are fixed soon, so that many more new svsers keep coming in.
I did notice that they are not all glitches unfortunalty there are those who have found ways to manupulate the game to there advantage. I seen this the other morning when a specific ship would be in the red about to go down and the next shot they would have full health. I wont mention the ship name, as i am not sure who the captian was. If you see this my suggestion is to avoid the ship. I wish this didnt happen, but unfortunaltly there will always be someone finding away around playing fair. I am not gonna let them spoil svs for me, I am looking forward to the next battle!:pirate2:

Hi Angel, this could indeed be a cheat but to be honest its more likely to be salvage; you get a certain amount of hull health back after a ship that you are doing heavy damage to finally sinks as salvage, or it could be people repairing just in time, or both. Some crews have repair crews, and if you imagine the salvage for a war frigate that a lite sloop gets, its a full repair.

The thing you have to be aware of, is although yes we do see people taking unfair advantage of oversights and glitches etc, there is a large 'dark area' where you have to say, ' well that could be legitamate ' in that instance, you just grin and bear it, sharpen your aim n go get them anyway, kinda like a real pirate would :)

With the difference in internet speeds and processor speeds and personal computer performance you can often think you have seen something odd when you havent, that is a problem for disney when people report what they 'think' they saw. Over my years svsing, Ive come to only report what I actually know people are doing and provide disney with the full information so that they can act on fact. After all with all the inaccurate reports to deal with on a daily basis, how are they ever going to find the time to fix the real problems that we can prove and explain.
If you feel the cause though, pls email disney about the current issues that Leo has pointed out in his svs threads, every voice helps:)

Have fun svsing ;)

THATS GREAT MOLLY. IT ALSO LOOKS LIKE NOT MANY LIGHT SLOOPS LOL SO THATS VERY GOOD. I HOPE THAT SVS WILL BE FIXED SOON AND MORE PLAYERS WILL KEEP COMING TO SVS.:dancetl6:

The Legend 11-30-2010 11:10 PM

SvS needs the most sailing and gunning skill in this game and i think its the most challenging part of POTCO since there is so many players in SvS are experts at it which makes it hard for me and new players who want to join SvS because they give us a hard time which is kind of good i guess since it makes you only want to get better at svs and beat those "experts". Very competetive!

seafox 12-01-2010 02:11 AM

You will notice though, periods of time when some of us stand on beach while less experienced players "take the field". I would say its a good time between six and seven pm during week for that.... but that does change....you just have to look at the board and see what size starters are out.

The starter bounty is on the right side of board for boats just launching . It will show a 0 on the left side and their "starter" bounty on the right side of board. Larger starters usually point out a more experienced player. So, if you see all big starters launching and big scoring/high bounty boats out....its going to be a bumpy sail for less experienced svs sailors...and you might gun then...or, as you said, go for it!! and learn all you can..if you enjoy sailing and a challenge....its worth it....:piratewheelgo2:

Why are they never seen in SvS if they are considered "strongest" guilds?

I couldn't agree more with Leo.

Also, please be the bigger person in SvS. A lot of bounty gets ported not because that person is trying to be obnoxious, but they feel as if they're getting revenge on someone who ported on them. Don't you see? It's just a chain that continues itself. Oddly enough, it seemed easier to deal with people who ported the bounty to have fun or to be annoying. I've seen 25k ported right in my face, and you know what I did? Laughed. I've seen 10k ported by a friend, why? Because someone ported on him, but I didn't laugh, I was disappointed. Don't give yourself a bad reputation because you feel as if you need to deal out revenge, just be the mature one.

I never port, I respect my opponent who sinks me, and i never ported even on those who did on me

Tiberius Fireskull 12-14-2010 01:42 AM

And what if you need to log out? Then what do you do? Not many people would leave their ships in the hands of others. Its not a wise choice, considering there is nobody to take over the wheel from people who hijack it. I don't mean to attack, but don't you realize that sometimes people may port simply because they need to log out?

Davy, Some of the people in svs in andaba who port are pro svsers and port the big bounty on purpose. Its not because they have to log because they come back and keep porting just to start drama and get others mad. No one likes them for porting bounty but somehow they think they are "cool" and like to see people mad at them so they keep repeating it. You would understand if you SvSed in andaba more because thats where the issue is since its the main SvS server and a lot of people are in svs and of course theres always a few who love to mess thing up for others.
Now to your point. I don't think you loose anything if you leave your ship to someone else to sink so the bounty stay in play. Bounty is the main goal in svs as it gets score up and bounty is gold.

SEAKING23 12-14-2010 02:46 AM

In my opinion, Thats that shows that you are even weaker than when you sink because thats quitting. It is better to except the loss sometimes than defend it. Getting sunk also pushes you to not get sunk next time. One word for it, COWARD- no offense to you, speaking in general
