Is the game too easy?

I think all you high level pirates out there agree that the game is WAY to easy. me level 50 friend recently left the game, bc he had no one good to fight. so i made this poll to ask everyone out there if enemy's should have the same health as us. one time i attuned this level 40 ghost, he had only 1700 health. that was my health yes i was level 35. -_-. also, ships are WAY to east to. they should have the same health as us, but they should give more loot, rep and money. i am thinking this would make the game more fun. i think enemy's should have a little more attack, ( like like 70 damage instead of 61) and ships should also so the same.

What do you guys think?
P.S I will send POTCO an email to check this thread out.

Dog Firestack 11-01-2010 08:44 PM

If this game was easy, everybody would have all the legendary weapons.

Slouyx 11-01-2010 09:02 PM

Um, no. I do not think the game is very easy.... I mean, it just depends. You could be a gamer that finds a lot of games easy or someone who is a little lazy and dislikes leveling and quests, and call the game hard. The game is a challenge in some ways because it requires patience for some things such as looting, or long quests. Some find it easy, some find it hard.

Eliza Creststeel 11-01-2010 09:05 PM

My own judgement is a little clouded. My primary pirate has been mastered or nearly mastered for a long time.

When you play as a new pirate, no its not that easy - but I think there is a sliding scale. The first quests were long, drawn out and required effort. However later quests got easier and easier.

Compare Gunner and Carvers quests to Raven's Cove...

How long and sometimes frustrating were they compared to the 1-2 affair of dealing with El Patron?

Ancient Mariner 11-01-2010 09:10 PM

I do think they should have some tougher enemies in the game but I personally don't think that's the main reason why most people quit playing or just lose interest. I think the real problem is the lack of a 2nd storyline and any real quests to work on.

And no the "side" quests(Ravens Cove) and mini-games do not count I am talking about a real 2nd storyline that will be longer lasting and challenging to everyone including high level pirates.

I do know that there are many mastered pirates(including me) around the Caribbean just waiting for a new storyline and raised levels for both pirate notoriety and enemies.

Fillyteen 11-01-2010 09:13 PM

well, My Kat Wildcastle has been a level 42 or 41 since the level bar was raised, I'm having trouble with the Raven's cove quests.

But yeah it was easy when it was starting out but now its tough for me, but thats just my saying it.

It was tough for the boss battle for the Black Pearl, took me like more then 3 times to complete because 1) the game crashed 2) the group I was with either crashed the Black Pearl or something else with the boat and 3) the boat chased us and we couldn't shot it down

But me working on the quests a lone is tough even though I'm level 41 or something for the Raven's Cove Quests, the defending the traitor ghost alone is tough but its not easy defending it all alone, but I guess its a matter of opinion.

Cannonfury 11-01-2010 10:58 PM

This game IS way too easy..... they need to up the enemies difficulty level up, a lot. This includes the ships too.

by difficulty lvl, I mean how hard it is to kill them and how easy it is for them to kill you.

Sven Ironwalker 11-01-2010 11:08 PM

Currently I am going through the BP story line quest on test... I find it a lot easier then it was the first time I went through on Live a couple years ago. Seems like they have shortened some of the quests a lot. Also, I use to die a lot the first time around which rarely happens any more. One of the things is the new weapons loot drops. You get such killer stuff that nothing can stand up to it even when you are a lower level character. I kind of like it the way it is now although it would be nice if it had more content and if the content was a bit more mystery stuff or something... so that the challenge didnt always fall on kill or be killed but perhaps fell on other character skills

SEAKING23 11-01-2010 11:29 PM

is the game to easy?

Okay i get what you guys are saying. but i was was talking about combat, bc us players have way to much advantage over enemy's. i was just calling for less of an advantage. thank you.

Tiberius Fireskull 11-02-2010 01:39 AM

For a mastered pirate it is too easy. But when I play on my level 23 (almost 24 now, but doesn't matter) I find combat difficult. It isn't unusual for me to have to run away from a fight. Its only too easy if you are mastered, or fighting enemies 10+ levels lower than you.

Your perspective of the game's "easiness" is only based on your level and experience if you ask me. The game probably is not very easy.

By the way, I read through my post right here, and I may sound like I'm trying to sound mean. Thats not my intent, just letting you know. I just wanted to state my opinion on the matter.

Chimera Doll 11-02-2010 06:11 AM

It's not easy when you are a lower level when fighting and such overall. Also, it is not easy to level up and master.

SEAKING23 11-02-2010 05:41 PM

is the game to easy?

Okay guys. i think i'm just to high level, or i think that enemy's are to easy. i mean, any level 1 can kill another lvl 1 skeleton bc they have less health than them. but they are new to the game, they don't deserve to be KO when they face ppl there own level. So i have this idea, how about high levels (37-50) enemy's, have the same health as players when 1-36 enemy's have less health. this would make the game funner for high levels, and for low levels to. what do ye think?

WitchdoctorDan 11-03-2010 07:18 PM

No, it's not too easy. I mean, if you are fully mastered you shouldn't expect to be killed all the time, right? My highest level pirate is level 43 and can't pull the South Grave on Raven's Cove without dying. Nor can I do more than one Thrall. The reason you can make multiple pirates is to make the game challenging again after getting mastered. I agree that a new, almost impossible challenge should be added, and all weapons and notoriety caps should be raised, and pirates should be inspired to flock there. But maybe you should find challenges in everything you do in the game, or make a new pirate. Just my two cents.

SVS/Privateering

Now many may disagree but don't you think:

1. Killing enemies on land has gotten old
2. Looting is boring - you kill enemies all day and barely find anything and after you get the loot, theres nothing to do with it
3. Sinking ships on High Seas is old as well which has gotten boring
4. Quests are boring after a while, especially the ones that just give reputation
5. Leveling is OK but after you master 1 or 2 pirates its a waste of time = boring

I think Disney needs to ad more events that groups of friends can COMPETE such as Privateering/SvS and PvP by first fixing all the bugs on them and then adding new stuff.

Tiberius Fireskull 11-04-2010 01:59 AM

Leo is right. Player versus Player interactions can never be too easy, because there is always someone who is better than you. Its always a challenge to try to make it to the top, and then have more people challenge you.

However, anything can be fun if you do it with the right people.

1. Perhaps for you but I'm still a good 15 levels away from my first Pirate Master and 20 levels away from my second.

2. Actually you can sell the loot.

3. I'll agree with you here. I don't bother with ships much unless its a required quest.

4. Quests are essentially the whole point of the game. I'd rather Disney amp it up and give us a 2nd big story chapter like the Pearl. Raven's Cove was weak and my level 35 pirate ran through it like no problem.

5. I wouldn't know I haven't yet mastered the art of piracy.

Pirate Bood 11-05-2010 12:47 AM

Agreed Leo, my loot drops from a skull chest on a lvl 50 pirate at best are:

One fireshot, a rusty sabre, two cards ( that I already have in abundance ) and some gold.

I could loot all day - and seriously who wants to, and still find nothing better.

With three accounts and a test account I sure dont want to spend three years just doing the black pearl quest over and over. Leveling weapons to mastered on each pirate only to put the skill points in the exact same place as my 11 other pirates gets to be a bit of a snorer too.

I log on for the company of friends, and the challenge of svs, where you can never predict how each day will go. I svs with my crew because its great team work, we know each others moves. We giggle a lot and can take it if we sink... OH and we get rich very, very quick, faster than looting or plundering.

no offense but is that really your best loot? :laughks2: are you hunting grave diggers? no offense. most ppl get way better loot, ether you dont know how to loot, or you are just REALLY unlucky.

Dog Firestack 11-10-2010 11:07 PM

Aye well, here are a few ideas to challenge yourself, because when you want a challenge you sometimes have to think OUTSIDE the box.

1. Solo a treasure fleet, light sloop only, no repairs no docking, round shot only.
2. Solo El Patron using only a rusty cutlass without fleeing or healing yourself.
3. Solo a rage ghost.
4. Find all the Legendary Weapons.
5. Solo an invasion with only one pirate at each barricade, no fleeing and no damage taken to the barricades.
6. Solo Jolly Roger without having to tonic or heal yourself.
7. Complete the Story Quests only a light sloop and using only a rusty cutlass.

That's a few for now, these are just some inventive challenges that others can try!

Davy_Mcwrecker 11-11-2010 04:57 PM

THats HARD Dog!!

WitchdoctorDan 11-11-2010 06:50 PM

Dog, that seems impossible! :laughks2:

But, I guess, impossible=challenge.

is the game to easy?

I got a challenge. spend your money as if drunk!!!!

Ofury/ Tom 11-14-2010 05:02 PM

I don't think this game is very easy. You younger age groups play as well and to them fighting anything is lots of fun unless they die ALL the time. Then they get annoyed and stop playing. i know i would give up if i kept dying all the time so changing anything to increase the game play for mastered pirates would mean the rest of us have to suffer through that while trying to master.

SEAKING23 11-14-2010 08:02 PM

is the game to easy?

i dont know what your talking about. i hate dying over and over as much as anyone else. i just want a slight increase in enemy attack. or i just got an idea. maybe they should be able to stick combos, but they do less damage and are shorter than ours. what do you think?

Pirate Guy 12-27-2010 06:58 PM

No. The game is fine it took me about 3 years to master ( with some short and long breaks )

Barkjon 12-30-2010 01:14 AM

It depends.

I recently mastered my first pirate, and after about level 41 it was easy - the only ways I got up levels were leveling up my non-mastered weapons (except nades, I just don't like them...) and, after that, just grinding. It was hard to master. It took constant time in Tormenta for me to master. My pirate still has low levels on the mini-games, nades, and cannon, so I still have to fully master.

But the BP quest was hard. It took me a long time to beat it (though I did finish it at a low level - 25) If they make more quests in the game, it would become a lot more difficult.

It also depends on how you play the game. If you are a pvp'er then you will quickly learn what to put skill points in, which weapons to use, and another skills (like jumping around while swinging sword). PvP is hard in general. Some people will just play through the game, trying to master as quickly as possible. Others, like me, will stay and savor this awesome game, while figuring out the best skill points on weapons and really taking an effort to learn the weapons.

So, in short, the game is not too easy, but it depends on how you play it.

SEAKING23 12-30-2010 01:25 AM

Maybe they should just put more high levels, and more, harder caves.

Pirate Guy 12-30-2010 07:05 AM

Here's the problem with raising the level cap. For mastered people like you and me want to raise the caps so we can go to say level 60 but that's only 10 levels. If a new person joins the game they look at the level 60 level cap and quit caus it's to hard. Also the last weapon you get is at level 30 so for 30 level you get no new weapons.

Olgarlenn 12-31-2010 05:43 PM

I feel like they should have more to do at level 50 maybe like more boss battles and stuff because it is kinda of plain :)
