Are You Happy With Where POTCO Has Come?
 

October 31st, 2010, marks the official 3-year anniversary of when POTCO was released to the general public. Needless to say, a lot has happened since. But in your opinion, has POTCO really done enough in these 3 years?

No it has not. In the first 2 years potco was so fun...mostly due to interactions with friends, guilds...but now its got so boring, a lot of people have quit. They need to step it up.

leaderboards break so much and stay broken so ranking isnt a choice if we wanted to.

i havent been playing as long as most of u all just about a year and it has been slow at getting stuff like all the new stuff is great but it gets old fast like they need to figure out some thing that wont get old some thing that every pirate would love to do like the old days they loved how some of the towns were like city's enstead of little tiny towns scatered around in a way i got to agree with them that would have kept some ppl less bored but any way! haha i would say not really they did a ok job they could have done alot more though i still love pirates even though it gets boring some times :)

With Raven's Cove yes, with everything else no. I want the old Pirates Online that I first started out on in January/February of 2008. This is turning into Mario Party and Luigi's (Haunted) Mansion.

i like where this game is headed but there could be some improvements but it is very hard to make games so i say cut them some slack

yes because its not easy making a game with a small group of workers and they did a good job this year so present for big D

I voted yes for the record. I started the game in April of "08". All the changes that have been made I welcomed. A few things that were taken away saddened me, like no holes in sails, and not being able to see people on ships anymore. But that is small.

I enjoy this game very much. It holds a lot of potential. If added content and new features keep coming. The places to go and ways to get there keep growing. Not to mention new classes of enemy's to fight this game will keep getting my dollars.

Random question time, does anyone else remember the old tormenta cave and how they would all be digging? I was thinking about that today and I know it's random.

Anyway, Im happy with where the game has gone. There is still much to be added, but I keep playing it so I will be ready when it comes out. The game is fun, and I think Im addicted to it. :P

A lot has happened, but POTCo has so much potential that has yet to be exploited. I am excited for the new ships though, if they ever come out.

I don't do much with my maxed pirate but there is a lot to do with my low level ones still. Although it's the same thing, I still think Pirates has done a good job, and I'm sure there will be more great adventures in the future. Just takes time. I don't want all those bugs in the game messing it all up. I would rather wait longer and make sure it's working right.

Stephen I am convinced that trading and the new ships will come, because in the test release notes they hinted that they will come but they either need testing or is going to be another big update.

Igor says yes. Igor think the work put out this last years is much better than the year before. Igor also hopes they continue updating and expanding the content of the game. Igor say however if new ships are not add soon this is just another ground based rpg . Igor think we need better sailing environments (ships, seas, abilities and enemies) to really make this a pirate game. Igor crosses both fingers and wishes upon the first start Igor sees tonight for more sailing improvements!!!!

I voted no. I read constantly that games are hard to make, disney has done so much with few people. I feel that they could do better more side quests, crafting, trades, ships before you all answer "It is coming mate!" Think about Raven's Cove Quest, I completed it if a game sessions. It was too short and two easy. If that was a story chapter, I expect a book next time. Disney has capitalized on the brand name here and not followed through with the product.

Yes. But they could have done a far better job.

Just need to keep adding/improving - there could be so much more! Like pirates having the ability to change appearance of skin color, size, shape, better hair styles, etc. The scenery could be more dynamic with swaying palm trees and large crashing waves.

I picked yes. And i also agree with igor. The game has come out with soooo much better quality updates than they have in the past few years, like el patrons lost weapons, the mini games, and ravens cove. We have to remember that the Big D only has about 8 or 9 people that are capable of making these updates. And this game doesnt haev that many bugs compared to other online games similar to this.
And yes, i think that disney could do better with what they are doing. But im a patient person, so i really have no reason to complain about it.

I remember the old maps, and somehow I think they were better. Although the weapons have definately improved along with the new additions.

I know I already voted, but I will say this. I am happy with the updates that they are doing, but they are not doing it in a good order. They need to expand inventory space NOW. I have absolutely no room in my wardrobe anymore on my main pirate. There are other updates that should have come first, but I am still happy with the game.

POTCO has done a great job. The only reason people complain, I myself included, is because there are no major updates consistently coming. This is because all the previous updates that've come out, we already completed them. (Potions, Fishing, Raven's Cove, etc.) So, when (or should I say if) the Kraken Boss Battle comes out and everyone completes it, everyone will be bored once again. It is an endless cycle of continuos demands that will not really satisfy anyone ever, they are coming out with great updates, but eventually you will beat them, and be bored again. But keep it up POTCO.

No. I think they need to step it up and quit programming the filler we have been getting lately and get to a real 2nd storyline. Having one main quest or one storyline for 3 years is unheard of in gaming and IMO they have not done enough.

I have been playing ever since December of 07. The game lived up to it's expectations for the first year and a half to two years. But ever since then, just typical Disney. Leaderboards going down, simple cool things being removed, things that once worked not working. Just a simple downfall.

Disney potco needs to step up their game.
