Mystery Island Unveiled! - Sept 30, 2010

Surrounded by ravens, this small island is filled with eerie reminders of Jolly Roger's curse. There are tormented souls who need your help but they aren't the only spirits inhabiting Raven's Cove. As night approaches, ghosts of the townsfolk roam the misty island thirsting for revenge. Due to Jolly Roger's curse, they are unable to tell between friend or foe so keep your distance, mate. Once they set their sights on you, it's very tricky to shake them off!

If ye be a Pirate with notoriety of 30 and above, visit Captain Jack Sparrow in the Faithful Bride on Tortuga to learn more about Raven's Cove. He has a quest for any daring Pirates willing to risk their necks for treasure and notoriety.

Set sail now to explore Raven's Cove! Make sure to take your crew with you ... this cursed isle is not a place for a lonesome Pirate, no matter how brave ye think ye might be!

I just finished the quest myself, and chose Bitter End as my weapon. I'm not big on sabres, but so far Bitter End hasn't disappointed me.

Its pretty easy to do for a level 50, but I have to say that it was an enjoyable quest to do! Well except for doing the potions... lol!!

Geez, someone has way too much time on their hands! :P

I'll be resubscribing tonight and am very excited to start this quest.

Nick The Titan 10-01-2010 01:04 PM

Yes!!! Finally this gonna be so fun :d

titanic95594 10-01-2010 01:32 PM

Phew!! Cant believe I finished it in one day! Thought it take alot longer.

wmah 10-01-2010 04:15 PM

I was honestly hoping for some tougher enemy's in the mine itself. Maybe I could try and kill the red light, or did someone already beat me to that?

Lady Violet 10-01-2010 07:13 PM

Ok I have an issue. I cant disguise myself to help out the last ghost. What am I missing?

You need to go to various tailor's to buy the clothes.

They are unkillable even with voodoo reflect ive killed them technacally but not realy they go from zero health back to full health in a blink of an eye.

Captain Jason 10-01-2010 10:19 PM

I believe you can buy the whole outfit on Tortuga Charles.

By the way, I actually finished the quest before they even posted about it on their website.

And they are completely unkillable. You can get them to 0 health and they just hit you with somber demise like nothing happened. I like the fact that we have a calleneging enemy now. I'm all for the idea of an unkillable enemy, imagaine the chaos on Abassa!

Nick The Titan 10-01-2010 10:22 PM

Undead poker is pretty fun except for the fact if you fold/loose/leave game you loose health -_-.http://www.piratesonlineforums.com/f...pictureid=3971

I wouldn't say that, the quest compared to the first story quest was alot shorter. It's hardly longer then the original grenades quest. The strange thing is the reward is much better. I'm not complaining and I'd rather a fun story quest that's short then a boring one that's long and simply tells you to sink a bunch of low level ships then kill a gravedigger. Not really a challenge for either one on a mastered pirate, but at least I had fun. (I did find it funny when Dr. Bellrog tried to kill me with his level 30 bodyguard, I also enjoyed threatening him with a gun and having him cower in fear once I killed Kudgel.)

Captain Jason 10-02-2010 03:42 AM

I just found out that the Rage Ghosts can be defeated, but you must use a crew of people using swords and at least one person with a cursed sword. You get the same hat every time you defeat one. That's the only way to get this new hat.

pieisbetter2 10-02-2010 04:12 AM

Yea to defeat the rage ghosts you need someone with biter end to freeze it while everyone else pwns it with the blunderbuss. Or at least that is how it worked for me when i did it with the Krewe XD.

Solomon O 10-02-2010 08:23 AM

I completed the quest too as a level 35, but once I finished I was level 36. The hardest part was the ship sinking since I mistakly sold all my war ships except my War Sloop. I chose the Spinecrest Sword. O_O.

Oh and you can defeat rage ghosts. You need alot of help though. Yesterday on Andaba, we were at ravens cove, outside the jail. Somebody used the Bitter End and froze the lvl 48 rage ghost. I ran up along with some others and started attacking it, and a few blunderbussing people helped. It droped a loot bag (dissapointing really) with a Red Blue Party Hat. It looks like only then people who finished the quest could claim it though since none of blunderbussing people were able to open the bag.

Not if you had somebody tp to heal you, :psmiley27: Some call it cheating, but its much quicker than dieing if you are not good at poker.

Captain Jason 10-02-2010 01:15 PM

I did it alone, including the 5000 gold bonus part, and never died, the only thing that happened was i got caught cheating once.

Not true. They are completely killable. I've seen some people walking around with these blue and red hats, and when I asked them where they got it from they told me they got it from killing a Rage Ghost - that "red light."

Igor Greybeard 10-02-2010 04:55 PM

Igor wonders

Igor say raven's cove is nice,.. but Igor still wish for more content. Igor think the quests are very short and needed more meat to them. Igor say o well hope for the future. :piratewheelgo2:

heartburn 10-02-2010 07:14 PM

YAY! A friend and I FINALLY defeated a Rage Ghost! A funny little jester party hat dropped from his loot.
She froze him with The Bitter End, and I finished him off with Blunderbuss, steel shot.

Agreed... the toughest enemies are the Rage Ghosts, but they don't give good loot, or rep I believe, but I could be wrong. I was really hoping the ghost's levels would be about equal to Tormentan Enemies, but they really dont go much higher than 42 or so. It would be nice if they threw in some higher level ghosts, some more ghosts, and a Traitor Ghost Boss.

You, can. It happened to me because I suck at poker and had my guild tp. it was a party in there. Me playing poker, 10 others healing me everytime i lost some health. You cannot attune in the normal way. All of them had to use evil eye. So maybe it was a glitch.
