Can the Red Ghosts be killed?
 

So it seems like the red ghosts that inhabit Raven's Cove at night are nigh impossible to kill. Though they do take damage when attacked. Problem is, one hit from one of these apparitions and BOOM: -30000 health and you be done. I am going to try to do the Voodoo Doll attune / run in big circle thing. So can they be killed? Should they be? Should there be a high level reward for eliminating one of the trouble makers?

Good luck. The attunement automatically breaks within a second. Only enough time to cast one hex.

We all thought they were not possible to kill as well but, lastnight a friend told me you could and they had a very large crew all trying to defeat the ghost and they did. The ghost drops loot which is a Party Hat. If you notice people running around with these Pink santa looking hats that is what the ghost drops....

Me and a bunch of guildmates went as well and helped and also received this hat... So, yes it is possible to kill the red ghost on Ravens Cove.

I spent a few minutes on Camaros yesterday trying to explain that if we organize we could kill the things, but couldn't get anyone to listen. Everyone just keeps saying it's impossible.

Uh, is it just me or were almost or all of the red ghosts clearly girls? At least the ones I saw.

I have also heard they can be killed with a weapon that has the voodoo reflect skill. Their powerful attack is reflected back on them!

Yes, you need a VERY large crew. The crew I was in was full. Also, it took several times to try and defeat this ghost. The bad thing is when it becomes day light the ghost leaves so you must wait. lol

Just killed one and got the hat. When it dies, thunder strikes it many times.

We killed it as well. ABout 10 people I believe. Two Blunders fired at the same time and that did it in. We had about a 1 out of 30ish success rate though.

We should post a thread asking if anybody wants to crew up and kill them... Muahaha!!!!

We had some folks who used freeze on the ghosty - made it a lot easier.

Jester hats....

Something tells me that Disney is calling us fools for foolishly engaging in a fight with an overpowered enemy.

The problem is that that video doesn't actually show you killing the Rage Ghost. So it isn't direct proof. But I don't doubt that you did indeed kill it.

I killed it today, and I think we should have a BETTER reward than some jester hat. What I think - someone will get made fun of for obvious reasons. Good work disney, you will make someone upset.

The jester hat is also only a common hat, so I'm wonder if there will be more of these.

The only way is to freeze him so he can't attack (he gains full health everytime he attacks) then use strong blunderbuss.
Otherwise, it's not possible, seems like they dont die from 1 single blow, so a grand buss with 10k damage won't kill him, he'll have 1 LP left, kill someone, and be back to full health.

I agree. I think after that much work you should get something more then just a hat.. LOL

That ghost is TOUGH!

Hoping to fine tune it though, make it possible. If you want to try it out, you can probably find me on Caicumal in town every so often.

well this is how it worked for me use a sword with cursed ice have ppl with high lvl blunderbusses at highest take aim u freeze it and then all out attack u use blade storm and ppl use there blunderbuss

Right as Roger said,. i was able kill it with my friend Law,. just need 2 ppl to kill it. just need 1 freezer and 1 shoter... just need 1 shoot.. and prize same as vid view on this thread,. blue red party hat.

If we have to freeze, stun, or knock it down first, I'm starting to think that this is a bug where we're not supposed to be able to kill it.... yet. (The yet is because of it's unique death)

The rage ghosts do die, they just seem immortal because after you blunder them they'll have 1 lp, which on the life bar you can't tell anything.

its not bug,. weapon with unique thing made for some purpose,. why u didnt think,. for a famed,. why just very few second its effect? 2 or 3 second i think,. and i can say "bitter end" not a best one when compare with broadsword type or cutlass as other choice. disney trying test us how use our brain for some special thing like rage ghost which had 30k damage,. and if he was set unable to kill,. why there is prize drop when we kill it?

There was this one guy on Abassa warning us to leave before the ghosts came, but then when one appeared we all began to fight, only two people died and we killed it quickly. He was sure sorry when he didn't attack the ghost...

P.S. Stunning is just as good as freezing, and even better if it's maxed.

I went on abassa not to long ago everyone was attacking with sword didnt freeze him once he died yay i got my party hat yay there awesome :)

It does seem to help freezing the rage ghosts because for a limited time they can't regenerate their health. If you all attack at once with a lot of people, you can get it's health all the way down before it regenerates.

why u think killing red ghost its hard?,. all u need is :
1. Freezer.. Bitter End is fast to recharge
2. Executor,. Blunderbuss.. at least grand blunderbuss with steel shot full and full take aim
3. Evil eye's Doll.. all u need is full grave shackles.. made it 10 sec not moving,. freezer can do another freeze when 1st freeze fail to hit

scenario..
evil eye attune rage ghost from far,. then grave shackles it,. freezer come to red ghost and freeze it,. executor who had take aim shot with steel shot,. and BAM,.. no one die,..

I took down many with my guild leader with me. I wielded the Bitter End, and he possessed a Blunderbuss with Steel Shot. We'd wait till we were near a Rage Ghost. I would freeze it, and it is funny to freeze it, you can still see it's location with the red glow, anyway, after it Froze, He Blunderbussed it and it died. One time, we got a Loot Skull Chest with just the Hat. Disney must add more stuff to find that cannot be found anywhere else but a Rage Ghost Loot Drop.

one more i forgot,. executor need re-skill his shot with this :
Shot : 5
Take Aim : 5
Silver : 5 ( for kill skeleton )
Steel : 5 ( for Tormenta and Raven Cove )
Sharp Shooter : 5
Eagle Eyes : 5

I'm sure they can be killed but I'm not one to hang around and find out savvy? If I ever see this ghoul I'll be heading the other way.

I've only visited "The Cove" once and I'm none too anxious to go back just yet. Need better weapons, and more notoriety.

Yes the rage ghosts can be killed pretty easily if you have a freeze weapon.

Here is how we did it with just 3 of us pirates:

1st pirate shoots rage ghost with a pistol then when the rage ghost comes after that pirate the 2nd pirate hits him with the freeze weapon. Then the 3rd pirate kills the ghost with a blunderbuss using steel shot. Worked every time.


Note: It gets a little tougher when a bunch of people that are not involved in the plan start hitting the ghost recklessly.

that why i suggest to attract Rage Ghost using Evil eye's Doll.. then grave shackles him,. freezer will be more easier hit them :)

Two people alone can defeat a rage ghost if the timing is right, and you are coordinated.
We have defeated them repeatedly with only two of us - both using Bitter End.

Had a person in a random crew say you needed a large crew to defeat them, and we ended up jumping to a slow server just to prove it COULD be done. The hard part is getting them before they have time to hit you back! If you miss first shot - there is a LOT of running involved!

I believe it. I find it amusing when there are lots of pirates around Ravens Cove all saying they(rage ghosts) can't be killed or your wasting your time etc.... then you go and kill the rage ghost in front of them. :laughks2:


Trying to kill them on a busy server when people don't want to listen to instructions on how to do it is very tough though so I usually go to the quiet servers as well.

I have wondered why it drops all 3 types of loot containers. The hat is the only thing in them as far as I know...

And Nelly...I cannot even imagine one of those bad boys taken out by two people! Kudos on the willpower for that! =)

There were many jail visits until we got the timing right!! LOL

And YES, IMO its MUCH harder with a larger group! It just makes the ghost run and you cannot get it to stay still to freeze it.

I HEARD that the game files have several different color versions of the hat, but who knows. I have only seen the blue and red. Some also say they can drop famed, but I have yet to meet anyone personally who has gotten one from a rage ghost. Or anything BUT a party hat for that matter. Its become a bit of a joke - loot sack, HAT! Chest... HAT! SKULL CHEST..... HATTTT!!!!!!!

The problem with larger groups is that the ghost moves around too much when attacked by multiple people, which makes it harder to focus an attack. I would say a CREW sized group of people who can listen and work well together can do it, but a random mob makes it a pain.

Find some close friends, avoid busy servers, and arm yourselves with bitter end - freeze, bladestorm, freeze, bladestorm, and maybe a few sweeps thrown in. You just need those 'freezes' to make sure the ghost doesnt attack back and regain lost health!

I even have a screenie on XF of a Skull Chest with a hat in it. What a fail. LOL!

Maybe they should make it something like this. If they drop a pouch, you get the blue red hat, if you get a chest, it drops a green and red hat (rare) and if it drops a skull, you get a famed gold hat!

Maybe it was because of morning. Try again sometime, Nate! It worked well for me.


True but on Abassa there is so many people surrounding it that it just goes down so fast. Especially when someone uses cursed ice on it.

Trust me, if there is enough people it can work without a crew, etc. Worked for me and I have 13 party hats to prove it. :D

Got my first party hat yesterday and are the red ghosts ever tough to kill. I landed in the middle of what ammounted to an unorganized mob fighting them. By the time we finally killed one half the people were KO'd.
