Test Server Woes
 

I have been trying to get on the test server for quite a while onlyto have it stop DLing the updates and close on me. Anyone else having issues with it? Any tricks to make it work?

Mine stops downloading at 25% while installing Pirates of the Caribbean Online 1 of 2... Then goes back to the log-on screen eventually to have me try again.

The link won't work for me at all.

Im having the same issue exactly. Not sure if its so many people trying to download at once or its just bugged.

There are two different launchers we're dealing with now. Make sure you're using the "TEST" launcher. I'm also having some problems though. They're updating it as we speak, I've noticed a few changes.

my question is this i know we are now suppose to use the " test " launcher but do we need to keep the old launcher installed? or does the test launcher download all the game material? because while i still have the old content i installed the test launcher and it completed all the updates but when i got to my select pirate screen it started downloading something called ruble shack and it stopped at 14% but then i uninstalled the old launcher and now i'm getting nothing the launcher starts showing the splash screen and then disapears but never starts the game??

:witch: im in ye same frigate state as ye mates arrrrggg! The launcher basically stopped at 37% 1 of 2 and then the launcher pops up again for login info arrr arrr arrr..how many times is that gonna happen i wonder and what to do if it never moves further..any ye pirates got any advice and this Test launcher?

Oh my no wonder the place is deserted, I thought everybody just quit since Beta ended lol....hope you all get in soon!

I've been working on the download for over 3omins. I keep getting stuck at different parts. Has anyone besides Silly Princess made it in yet? I'm getting really frustrated. I was planning on doing the preorder if the game looked good tonight, but at the rate I'm going, I will never find out.

I've been working on the download for 3 hours now. I get the screen with my character, it says it is downloading Rambleshakes, then it goes back to the screen where I type my password. There is starts updating at the 3 or 5 part. Updates 3, 4, and 5. I get the screen with my character and again it says it is downloading Rambleshakes, then the 3, 4,4 and 5 uploading starts all over again.

I'm ****ed.

As of right now I can't even get the web site to open, so i can download the launcher ! :sadmh9:

If you open the beta version we were using till today, when you get to the page where you type your password look at the notes on the left side. Scroll down a little and you will see the links. Also, if you received your e-mail from Pirates (mine didn't arrive till about 3 hours ago), the links are there too. Then you can avoid the website alltogether.

mine is going about a inch an hour (snail pace matey) something like 1.....................2........................... .3 and then it stops at 13 or 35%.

At the rate mine is downloading, I'll be on the game sometime next week. It seems to get stuck when its updating 3 of 5, then the window closes and I can't open it again. I'm starting to get annoyed.

Thanks Dichuy... It's just that the site would not open. I finally got the download and it's shutting down at 50%. It's taking me back to the sign in screen. Very frustrating!!!

It took a LOT of time (several hours, and several start overs), but finally the game has completely loaded for me.

Good luck to those of you still trying to get in, hope you make it in soon.

Hey I wonder if it's due to too many people trying to d/l at once, maybe they need a mirror site. I used the link that came in the email and I have broadband, and I d/l'ed soon after the email came, probably before the big rush.

If you still haven't gotten in, try now or a bit later and see if the rush being over makes a difference.

I was gonna wait a day or so to take a stab at it after seeing the list of folks here having problems. But I went and tried the link in the mail. My Download manager always pops up, I figured heck why not? Usually i cancel my download manager cause I usually do very small downloads (Sims2 clothes) anywho.. I figured for a client (much like i had to do for lotro's beta) sure go ahead use a download manager. It downloaded so fast, I barely had just clicked the okay button... anywho... installing also went well. And then the loading of port royal/etc... all went well. So.. /cough... yeah I'm in. well not at the moment due to maintenance, but all is well here. hope the rest of ye get yer interweb tubes unclogged. it's prolly yer beard hairs muddling up the modem... ;)

6am i tried yet again and to my surprise the entire download including the updates went very fast, played in game a bit and hardly any lag :D

Mine kept crashing around 85 percent last night. I gave up. Tried again this morning and it worked. I think too many were trying to download at the same time. Is that an unofficial stress test for them or something? Wonder whats gonna happen when the world orders and tries to download. Im just glad it workin :h-smile: I decided to keep the beta icon loaded until they take it away and just renamed the new icon on my desktop to POTCtest so i dont mess that up. :dancetl6:

I'm still having trouble. I started the downloading process an hour ago and got all the way to the last phase (5 of 5) and it got to 55% and stopped. Soooo close :(

Words of advice for those who had trouble last night? I won't be able to try again till I get home from work tonight. Should I delete what is there now (but didn't completely finish) and start completely over? Or try to log in and let it pick up where it left off?

I also noticed when it finished Rambleshack and went back to the log in page that it says there was an error I believe, can't read the entire comment as it is cut off.

It's working great for me today. I didn't even know about the test icon until I found it on my desktop this morning. There's some interesting updates too. Now all killed beasties havea green/gold "soul" fly up when they die. The ships fire differently too, and the water looks oh so pretty.
It only totally crashed out once for me. But it did load fast and smooth.
