Ahoy Mates and Mateys, we are the Spania Guild!

and WE ARE RECRUITING! Be ready to be recruited. So basically we are taking new members on our TEST SERVER GUILD. You could also apply for open SERVER.


At the same time, we are starting the thread of inspiration as the temporary thread for our guild, so we will keep you updated through here as well, this thread ain't going anywhere!!!!!!. So our test guild name is Spania also, we are small guild in test server with about 60 pirates, and on live no so small with over 480+ members.


We do have certain requirements for new members to join.

These are:

To join our guild you need to be level 15 and up, with Open Chat enabled, unlimited access, and willing to participate and obey by the rules.


Our Rules are very simple, and straight forward:

Be nice,
Respect Others,
Be Loyal,
Honor the guild,
Don't ask to be an officer,
Participate in guild activities,
No Drama,
Ask for permission before teleporting



In my own words, what can you expect from us?

A friendly, mature, environment; helpful, and fun pirates, that are willing to go the extra mile for the guild.

What do we expect from you? Well, first of all we expect honor, fidelity, and pride.


Why are we different?

We do not tolerate drama. We do not tolerate rude behavior. We are a peaceful guild that fights with honor. We are one of the most active guilds in POTCO, and we are PROUD to be who we ARE!


GUILD-Submit
ASK questions here, and we will answer!. We would usually discuss our guild business in private but, we are holding an open submit - whatever is reasonable to you.

Please note:We do not give away invite codes, if you would like to join - you would have to meet face to face, and interviewed by one of our officers who are here on the forums, we will assign one to ye!.

If you would like to join, please ask questions, or say why you want to join, rather than just saying "I want to join."

In addition to the submit, recruiting, and campaigning, we will be doing a lot of events - PLEASE KNOW THAT OUR GOAL IS 500 POSTS ON THIS THREAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't know what to expect when i asked a friend or mine if i could join his guild, see i have been in quite a few guilds and have had my own. I can tell you that i have always noticed a distinct detachment , most guilds are just loosely held together, unorganized and really unstable. So i expected Spania would be the same way. I had read here on the forums about some contests that Spania had won, and I asked my friend to guild me. He said he would get an officer. Ok then Officer Darkrage came to me and interviewed me. Thats different than most. Then he asked a trying Question, Will you commit to stay in the guild.... ?
What do you say to that. I gave him my answer. He accepted it after explaining the rules... My favorite, Dont ask to be an officer, or veteran. You are tested in this guild, you are able to distinguish yourself, and if you meet a certain standard and its rarely quick, you advance in rank... That is a challenge for anyone who has done it all, got so rich making loots no fun,,, been everywhere. This challenge is about being there for the guild. This guild is Elite among all others I have seen.
Warm and polite from the start and it never fades. I am greeted. I am congratulated when i succeed. I am asked to lend aid to others, and expected to comply. To prove my Character... And we are rewarded. Just the other day I was present as One member of Spania gave a lower level member almost 7k at the poker table, The old poker pass. And the Lower lever member Tom Scurvybones was greatful, and polite and i was like, wow. nice. I would miss having my own guild, but the leadership of Spania is second to none, They do things i never could in my own guild... There has been talk of Guild pvp fleet battles against rival guilds and opening a Thread on it where Spania can be challenged. Great, they have officers that hosts invasions . Its organized and Elite. I am honored to now call myself a part of Spania. And I look forward to the challenge of proving my character again and again. Huzzah. :SkullBullet1:

Of all the Spania members I've met, none of them were rude. No need to say good luck with your guild, as it's already done so well!

I would like to join this guild for 2 reasons.

1. I have seen this guild on Live, and I have wanted to join, but I had no open spaces!

2. I have seen this guild on the leaderboards, and I would be proud to out some numbers up.

But it really wouldn't matter because this is on test, and there is no leaderboard for test. And I DO want to join on test.

Discuss it, or do what ye have to do to see if I ' qualify '. I can come on test anytime, and I am currently on now. Tell me a time and place in a pm or post. :D

I just remembered, the pirate I have available is level 1. Does it really matter on test?

I might eventually join Spania, just to see the Spanian community. I've heard things about it (Some good, some bad...) and I think I might try it out myself! I'll make sure to let you know when I've made my arrangements (pirate space lacking!)

Ahoy CM! I am sure you will not be disappointed if you do decide to join Spania. I feel as though there are many good things about this guild as well and, as far as the bad things you may have heard well, with any guild bad things are said and you will only find out yourself that those things are false.

I was what you would call a "guild hopper" I guess you could say I just never felt welcome or as some would say "at home" with any of the guilds I have been in until I joined Spania. Really there is no guild out there quite like it. Everyone in the guild is so friendly and helpful. I have never been in a guild where when you come online EVERYONE greets you or, when you level up everyone congratulates you on your hard work. Many people may find this annoying but for me and for many others in the guild this is just part of how the Spania "family" does things.

Many people also say we are "strict" or have too many rules and as you can see by Davy's post we really do not have that many rules. I think this is what keeps this guild strong is the organization that is put into this guild and, what has most likely kept the guild going strong for as long as it has.

I joined Spania a year ago and I have no desire to ever leave due to meeting so many GREAT people in this guild that I can honestly say are true pirate friends!

Well we always welcome feedback, as long is honest and balanced. I know what you are talking about, I know of some people, specially these who have been banned from the guild. But we will ban anyone who repeatedly brakes the rules with bad intentions, or that is rude, and goes beyond that.

well i'm new here so i guess here goes....what to say? oh the ppl are very awesome. the gm has his set rules. and that really is what got me here in Spania. every place i've been i felt like the outsider looking in. not here, in Spania you become what you want to become. if you have great techniques in all avanues in the game it gets noticed here. it's hard to become an officer. but with patience skill and determination you can prevail... but wait it doesn't stop there. when you become an officer in Spania, you become all that it is to be a member of the guild and more. with that being said i look forward to any newcomers and look forward to seeing everybody on test and live. see ye on the main deck mates aaaaarrrrggghhhh!!!!!

We will be waiting on some members accounts to get approved so that we can proceed to start adding things such as events. Also some members have been posting but since their account is new I believe their post go through moderation first.

I have been in Spania for a while now and it really is a great bunch of players. My sons character is in Spania as well. He is the envy of his cousins who want to join but alas they are Extended chat. Spanias rules stated may seem daunting and arduous but I can tell you, they understand RL comes first. I am pretty sporadic of late but when I am online theres always an event or hunting party or a ship that could use me. If your play time is sporadic as mine your welcome as well but to remain in the ranks its up to you to keep active with us. which is really easy! Bring your friends to meet us crew with us and there be many a feast to dive into the grog with. =) I will see you in the high seas mates and future mates YAR!

I've been in Spania for about just over a year now. But, before I joined I was one of those people you would call a guild hopper. In all of my other guild, I always felt like an outsider, but when I joined Spania, everyone made me feel great to be part of them. They always gave me help when I needed some. They would cheer me up when I was feeling down. But, one of my most favorite things about the guild is everyone nice and respectful. Also, everyone is always willing to give a helping hand to someone even if there not in the guild. I'm proud to say that i'm part of the Spania family.

Thanks so much for your kind words!. If ye want in test just say so mate, and we won't hesitate to have someone assist you!.

On test we are still a small group and we don't do many official events unless something is projected, yet we are there to help and assist you with anything that might arise on none event basis, we have some of our officers that are on live on test - and they will definitely invite you if anything goes on with any given event. Also that helps to keep us on the same page and update when something is happening that the others should know about. On live we do all sort of events including official events such as Invasions and Treasure Fleets, what makes these events different is that you will always see us together when doing official events, then we have our own official events that are not projected or set dates in stone but they come and we let all our members know. Let me know if ye have more questions, and thanks for taking your time to ask questions :)

Welcome to Spania, sorry I was a little late on the welcome. But, I hope you have a great time in Spania.

I love this guild, the guildies, and everything about the guild. I met Carlos and Davy Darkrage on the test server. They were so friendly and answered every question i asked. I decided to join Spania on live because i saw how respectful, kind, generous, and friendly they were on the test server. They told me the rules and let me in. I loved this guild right from the start! This guild is the best thing that has happened to me on POTCO. Thank you Carlos for being an AWESOME guildmaster, and everyone else in the guild for being so helpful!!!

Hey carlos i noticed this forum just now and for other people im a member in spania :)

i would like to question as to why you have requirements such as lvl 15 and up and unlimited access are you saying that great pirates must have the money to spare on a game?

My guild enjoys to have the new basic "noob" person join our guild so we can spark the interest in this game and share the love we have for pirates online.

Why put a requirement such as that?

The reason is when we participate in guild activites its harder when we have level 15 or lower pirates since they cant fight as tough enemies and for the unlimited access so when we have events they can have weapons that you can get by loot drops or if our guild wants to do a black pearl quest its hard for a basic member to join in its just the requirements to join the guild.

Here is my experience being in spania in my own words the day i got invited everyone online greeted me with nice and warm Hello's Hello's and laughter then the next day i felt like i fit right in i ask is anyone at darkhart or can someone help me with this quest everyone is eager to help or say i am at darkhart i love how much guild participation there is for the invasions its no man gets left behind if someone dies we go reveive them joining spania was the best decision i made i am happy to be part of such a great guild :)

It is unfortunate but most basic players have given themselves the reputation of not sticking around in the game, rightfully getting bored after they reach their limits. We are looking for people willing to commit and stick around in the long term. I don't think being basic is a bad thing, and am not saying they all leave, but it is a trend I have certainly noticed.

Much the same to those less than lv15. Additionally, everyone was new at some point and getting into the game is a wonderful thing, but we would like people with a basic understanding of how it works. I am not sure how friendly our guild would feel to someone under level 15, as many of us are in higher level places that might intimidate newer pirates. However, I would usually offer to help those who meet the other requirements level to 15 to be able to join us.

well good thing there are some guilds out there to except basics because this guild doesn't what kinda model guild is it to win strongest guild if you have such requirments. it would be like Disney saying you have to have a credit score of x or higher to play their game which they don't

I'm sorry if you do not feel our requirements are just, but we are entitled to set them as we like, just as any other guild.

Thanks so much for your questions. Here you go:

We have been increasing our requirements over time.

First I want to tell you that it has been a long way, and we have been adding these requirements as they were needed, it wasn't something we did overnight. It has nothing to do with money. We occasionally take basic access members if we are sure they are gonna meet the standard we expect from everyone else, and we do have some basic members in the guild, I'll tell you I was a basic member one week into competition we recently won, and I am proud to say it.

First it has much to do with the foundation of our guild, we have always been an active guild, and we wanted to keep it that way. Back in the day, we used to take basic players of all levels. Our numbers were increasing but the number of active players started dropping - Not such a great idea for a guild that plans to be around for while is it? - and what do you plan to let your current players down?. So we realized that unlimited players are basic players that are more committed to the game. And there is the other flip of the coin, are these really good basic players that are mature, are committed to the game, follow the code, and can't afford to pay, we still take these. But the other poll of players left are the kind of players we don't want in the guild, limited nor unlimited, and also note that we don't have unlimited space in the guild. We are in very limited space in our guild some times we have to turn down unlimited players. And our basic players in the guild are as important as everyone else.


Our guild has reached the maximum number of member - 500 at least 20 times. This is a big problem - we wouldn't be able to guild limited nor unlimited. So the obvious thing for a guild that wants to stay afloat would be, open space , for these deserving talents out there that are committed to the game, and to our guild.


We first added the level cap of 10, when we reached 500 members for the first time. At that point, everyone in the guild was already LV 30 and up, including a few LV 20s. After a while everyone in the guild was passed level 30 or just about, so we believed it was fair for our members to raise the cap to 15, therefore increasing the consistency of what we already are or have.

I hope this answers your question.

So, my membership ends in March. If I prove my mark, and I am an active player, participate, I will not be dumped on the street?

Nope :) ........ this is the beauty of being in our guild, our members have some unalienable natural rights

I see your point but why must a guild always grow? its simple to delete inactive members but why always be focused on growing? If all you do is focus on growing and sorts it becomes less fun.... Delete the inactive members and just let people join of any size or shape thats how my guild does and we do fine :D and if some of your active members leave then ask to come back but your full then apartantly they aren't that loyal to ya cause the decided to join a different guild that appealed more....



(Just my say..... I was kicked outta a guild cause i was basic when i was a young pirate this matter does not float with me from my past experiances)

Today i was having problems getting disconnected and last night while on crew with my guild.
I went back on in game and mentioned the problem that i was having and before i knew it guild members were sending me advice. I pleasantly surprised because this was the first time i experienced this kind of responce. Thankyou all for helping. This is a great guild!

That's cool Molly! I'm glad that your having a great time in the guild.

We do purge inactive members on occasion, however many members are active and have become very close to others in the guild. I would not say we are focused on growing, if anything the requirements are to help slow growth to a manageable rate. Again, I am sorry that you feel our requirements are unfair, but they will remain the same for the foreseeable future.

It's great to see you here with us on POF. Also welcome to POF and i hope you have a great time here.

Davy Is right, we don't want to grow (not literally, but we rather prefer a steady flow)- after the 500 members it is impossible to grow more number wise (currently). But many pirates desperately want to join and would do anything to join - causing an effect that makes us take other measures - such as clean some space and give them a fair chance, otherwise people keep asking without leaving us alone; don't want to get to the point of having to report them or run away from them just not to allow them in, so we just take reasonable approach.

But we also are more than willing to grow player experience wise. If we know someone is talented we would love to guild that person as long he or she is willing to follow the rules.

Again that is not what we do, we have do a lot more than just have fun, we have responsibilities - each one of our members does, and we have fun, we have dedication, we have experience, we have a lot more than fun.

We try our best not to do clean ups (anymore). We have gotten to the point where most of what we have left are great members. And it is very hard to choose people who take the kick just to have someone else join, if the person joining won't match the level of experience or the contributions the member who is already in the guild has done even if inactive. Also we have some innactive players that we know well they are inactive but they will never be removed as they have a legacy in our guild.

We have very few of these cases now days. But again anyone member is WELCOME to leave any time they want. We do not force our members to stay in the guild.


I am sorry you had this issue. We don't remove our members just because. Whether they are basic or not.

Good points! To reiterate and add on a bit:

• We may be willing to guild a basic member who was previously unlimited
• We do not kick members who are unlimited and then go grey
• Anyone who gets removed in a guild clean up is welcome back should they become active again (though clean-ups are rare at this point)

Well Good luck with ya guild! Take time and effort in chossing officers... or you'll end up like me going from 400 to 53....

Thank you Del! I am glad we are all on here as well this is a great place! I am still going through and reading all the valuable information that is all over the forums. I wish I knew about POF long ago.

I have only been in Spania for about 3 months, and as far as other guilds I was in one for 1 day when I first started playing. I don't remember the name of it but it was weird. My son who also plays told me, "Mom you need to get out of that guild and do not join any guild unless someone from Spania asks you. That's the guild I'm in and it's the best." I have to say I agree with him. This guild has so many nice people and it has been wonderful getting to know alot of them. So many willing to help you with a quest, or leveling or sailing the list goes on. Spania also has very patient officers, I am rather new to the game and a new officer as well and I have asked many questions and alway get a timely nice response. I have to say ranking during the competition was one of the best times for me because it allowed me to see how the guild really pulled together and worked so hard for those two weeks. Putting aside their own quests and leveling, it was really something. It also allowed me to get to know a lot of people. Anyway, I am very happy to be a part of the Spania family and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. :)

Oi mates, im finally on board with the forums! and I will be here to help represent Spania at any time. As many people have already said, Spania is like no other guild. I have been with Spania for about 4 or 5 months and one thing is for sure everyone here is willing and ready to do anything to help a fellow mate.

yo guild, i have been on from abut 6 months after pirates started. i have only been in two other guilds in all that time. i was really sad when the first one broke up. the guild master left and started a new guild, very sad. i then joined his new guild, but left after 7 months, it just wasn't working out. i started hanging out with spania at the invasions and made friends with many of the members. it wasn't long and i was a member of spania. very lucky day, indeed. maybe 4 months later i was very proud to make the rank of officer. not just any officer, but an officer of spania. this guild is very special and i feel very lucky to be a part of it. thanks carlos and all my mates in spania..::smiley_toxic:..gods speed good hunting

Thanks for posting the screen shots Davy. I never thought to do that. I enjoyed looking at them. I have some too of some of the invasions we have done. I must say we really all pull together when it comes to invasions! Great fun!!
