You are cordially invited to Pirates Online Forums 2010 Homecoming Dance

It's the time of year again when many of us here on the forums go back to school. What usually happens near the beginning of school? Homecoming!

This year we are proud to present to you POF's first Homecoming Dance! Guys, go dust off that Evening Jacket! Ladies, find that perfect skirt and ruffle shirt combination! Bring your date if you want to! It's an open event!

I'll be taking pictures there as well! Take your pirate and his or her date, and I will provide a customized Homecoming Night Photo!

Semi-formal dress if at all possible please.

Come and enjoy dancing, laughing, and all around fun (and perhaps I'll throw in some of my good rum, just for the occasion)! Perhaps sometime during the night if we get too bored we'll go out plundering and such in our fancy clothes. ;) Don't miss out on this event of a lifetime!

Unfortunately, mates, the event has to be postponed for a day. I just found out that a RL thing will get in the way. It is now on the 15th, rather than the 14th, but it is still same time and place.

Arghh!!! Now I can't make it! The 14th was perfect because id be staying home to pack and could get online. Now that its on the 15th (the day im leaving for vacation) i cant come... yarrrr oh well. See you all at the next event. :D

When you changed it to Sunday, you forgot to update the day on the original post. It says Saturday, August 15th.

I was just re-reading this thread and it is hilarious and entertaining!!

The weirdness and awkwardness in some of the posts is amazing. I will be going because this has just turned into a social experiment. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of a gathering, its just the whole date thing that made it special. I will be attending on my own because its just too weird for me. In a good funny way. I really enjoy watching people's interactions and reactions and this is the first time I get to watch this in an online community. I am now psyched for this.

I am not in any way shape or form making fun of any one or anything. I am just excited for this event.

I can't show :( My brother wants to be on at that time for a guild event >:-( So I can pop-on before the event, but once the event starts, I'm out.... Sorry!:(

Never mind! I could come! Though laggy and disconnected alot, I had a lot of fun! Glad I could be one of the bouncers for the line to Kat!:pirate2: The only part I didn't like was that one pirate telling everybody to get a life. Other than that, it went fairly well. Can't wait to do it again.

I can't take credit for the idea mates, haha. It was MacIronhawk that did that. I just organized it.

It was pure insanity out there tonight! We ended up having to leave the Anchor and go down to the beach because it became such a lag fest, haha (not that it really helped...)! Thank you so much to everyone who showed up! I never thought it would get this big! If I ever plan another, I'll need some help, and we'll have to spread it across different islands, haha.

Alright, now, if you got a picture tonight, please post on here that you need one and what your pirate name was. Also, please give me about a week to get all the pictures (though I may need more time than that. School starts up Wednesday).

Sorry about not being able to come, but my guildmates told me what went on, so it sounds like it went great. I will hope to be able to participate in another event like this.

It was crazy and hectic. I did enjoyed the picture taking process. Lag was rampant! Maybe if the event would have been at a Quiet server that might have helped a bit. Other than that, the fireworks, and the guy yelling GO NOOB FORUMS!! Everything was not as weird and awkward as I expected. And who started banning at the beach!?!

I got to meet some people that I have never met in game. You did an average job at best Crest. Because if say something nice I will never hear the end of it.
