Yeah, I was wondering that too. This is a big promational stunt to make people buy unlimited acccess.

kinda sad though...they need to add something to the game for unlimited players, instead of rewarding the people who don't pay and haven't worked hard to lvl like the rest of us.

Where is Double drop weekend. Somebody complain to Disney. This is dumb, I don't mind limited players, but they probably haven't ever payed a cent for any feature in the game. Where is our bonus for being unlimited and paying 10$ a month? It is also a small filler for limited players, but we limiteds clearly get nothing, and it makes no sense that we get nothing. If they really want to tick off their paying players then why not write another blog about the Kraken. We know good and well that feature isn't coming anytime soon, so that blog would just make me want to march down to POTCO and smack a schmuck.

I honestly don't mind this. I'm going to be glad to see our basic members in the guild be able to enjoy the game to the fullest extent like our Unlimited players and I.

I do mind this... imagine that ur basic, and 23 - 25 u have unlimited. and once its over all the pirates that u make, and items that u found (lost relics, el patron, ect.) will be gone. :(

I have bought unlimited before. Love it. But I haven't had the time to buy it back. So I like it...

All this free weekend is doing is giving regular access players (mainly the ones considering paying but haven't yet) full access for a sample of what it would be like to be unlimited. So that when the weekend is over they would get another influx of people purchasing the memberships. Its all a marketing plan.

I have possibly the worst luck ever... I'll be out of town for the weekend. Well, best for those who can to enjoy it while it lasts...

Actually it's not gone. If you use this time to make 2 other pirates, you then have 2 new pirates to work when the weekend is over. Also, you won't be loosing any of your loot or clothes drops. Like always you simply wont be able to access the unlimited only stuff when the weekend is over.

(Any basic member with only 2 pirates who makes 2 more pirates to fill their roster will be able to continue to use the new 2 pirates after the weekend is over. Unlimiteds have the ability to CREATE 4 pirates, but even basics can USE all 4.)

I have the new hat. Love it. Can care less about the free weekend. Has anyone found any new cloths or other new stuff yet? I checked padres no dice.

Off Topic: Saw Tayseth's reply on the Grog Blog. At least they're letting some of our replys through. On Topic: I'm pretty glad that this is happening, even if it is a big Disney marketing scheme. I'll enjoy having some of the guys in my guild who cancelled Unlimited get it back for the weekend. And if some of the newbie pirates in my guild purchase unlimited after this weekend, that will be just fine to me!:pirate2:

I do not see why people should complain about basic players getting free stuff, but never thought that they might have been players who got bored of the game and gone basic. One even said basic players do not pay a single cent to level - there is so much prejudice against basic players in the game and in this thread, please note that there are as many basic players in this community ;)

I give a thumbs up for this unlimited access weekend, i was expecting one this year as they had one in April 2009 with a double rep weekend, both back to back. Maybe we can expect a double rep weekend soon hopefully ;)

You know, that reminds me. I'm a guild master, but I'm basic access. See, last unlimited weekend, I created a guild. I can't make another one, but I can continue to manage my current one.


Random Fact: I'm basic access.

On the basic access thing. I have many basic friends. Of them about half used to pay but for whatever reason don't now. I myself have 14 accounts, yes really. Of those accounts only 5 have ever been paid (not all at once mind you). I'm not the only unlimited player who also keeps a basic ID by any means. They are actually nice to have around for shifting gold between your paid pirates, and to act as a personal crew bonus. Before you start bashing basics remember please that you don't know who else they might be. Like the level 1 unlimited who started a new pirate after fully mastering, that basic access player you are slamming might also have an unlimited ID. Pirates is about fun for all players. I say kudos to them for giving basics something for a change. We unlimiteds have a mountain of perks already. One single weekend a year for basics to try it out isn't much, and I won't begrudge it to all the permanent basic players. I say go pirate an have a blast!

Doesn't work. I tried making a third pirate on my basic account this morning and it wouldn't let me. The game still knows your true account status. Also tried applying for test with the basic account and the site turned that down too. it's ok though. 4 test pirates and 4 live pirates is enough for me.

It was the same last year, you are only able to make 4 pirates when you upgrade your account with a code, or through the site.

I just when to see the news about it and someone said " Jeffery Warrate lvl 33
And what do pirates that already have unlimited get? Nothing?"
The Gm reponded " Great question, Jeffrey Warrate! Besides getting more company and companionship in the Caribbean, consider this an oppurtunty to be an ambassador to any new Pirates that may move into the Caribbean! They may want some guidance and I'm sure any Guild could appreciate getting new members." And pretty much mean u get nothing if you paid already. They just made an excuse.
