Yay! A fishing minigame! Just what everyone has been asking for!

Come on guys! Am I the only one here who feels bad for those poor fish?! We have the chance to make a difference and save them from drowning in water.. and possibly silence our stomachs in the process.

I don't know what it is. Maybe it is a minigame where the fish eats half of your ship and then you have to find out some way to get back out on the island using a little peice of wood. :D Here is a picture of the fish. Really, he looks scary!http://i969.photobucket.com/albums/a...ncaribbean.png

I like Charles' idea. That sounds much more exciting than Toontown. But hey, maybe we'll finally get to meet those fish we were naming from the phase files picture!

I just noticed that it says could it have something to do with the new, uncharted islands that have arisen? That could mean Raven's Cove!!!!! Where Captain Walter disappeared. We need to find more about this before we can be too sure what these fishies are and where they are coming from.

Not to offends Toontown lovers. But they really need a whole new renovation with the graphics I mean POTCO is a little better.

do y'all think we can expect it on test by evening?

Maybe we'll start to see these "uncharted islands" with the next test game update or maybe one or two of these "islands" will come with this "fishing" mini-game? Who knows? :) :bookishfj7::piratewheelgo2:

Toontown doesn't need a graphic makeover, because it's just that, a toon game. It's supposed to look unreal.

Although in the coming years I'd like to see some of the textures become sharper, and the framerate to increase.

Also, James, you're probably right. What I believe they're doing, is releasing all these minigames to keep us busy, for now, while they work on the finishing touches to the islands.(possibly new caves or whatever, that they've been working on, on their computers)

It's been potions, cannon defense, and next it'll be fishing. Hopefully that means it'll be mysterious islands, and then a second story quest. I'm hoping, but not giving my hopes up.

Has anyone checked to make sure new islands are not out there? I saw that the game was updating when I logged in, but I do not know how long it lasted I got distracted. I was in game for a short time then left. Checked here saw nothing.

As long as there are no more "Kraken sightings" I'm good with what they bring.

Something small and minor like this probably doesn't need testing. More often than not thing will be put on test, be tested, then go Live.

I really think this is the start of something bigger. It seems like every summer the Pirates Crew tries to put something very big on the game!

Because think about out it - our young players aren't in school, so this is the time when they'll bring out the more fun stuff. It would make sense, wouldn't it?

Fishing. Sounds like fun, I enjoyed Toontown's fishing ( Except for the darned Balloon Fish ), so this might be fun too. It won't draw me away friom Cannon Defense, though, I can say that :D

Edit: Forgot to add this, remember that old Sea Serpent quest? Back then, there were no "Sea Serpents," but with this new fish thing, maybe Disney will put in Sea Serpents ( Sea battles or not ) and return that old quest - then again, maybe not. But I wouldn't mind if they did.

Well no, this has happened before. sometimes D posts something they are about to release and pull it back, then release it in the next week or so... So don't give up quite yet.

Hey mates,I be sailing with me friends out in Uncharted Waters at the World's Edge and we saw three things that could add up to be a sea monster!

#1: A big shadow in the water
#2: Glowing green lights
#3: A small green health bar


Some weird things we saw, but the fish on the grog blog POTCO showed looked almost like an Angler Fish.

There will always be "kraken sightings". Always. Possibly more so with the game coming out. People will go "zOMG! I sawz da kraken in the shados while i was fishin!!!" Haha, ok, maybe not exactly like that....but yah.

I do hope we get new islands. But the only thing is would that lower game performance and would it take forever to update the game?

Cuddle Fish

Since it's summer, I was expecting something big to be announced. When they released features such as the Undead Spanish and French, Ship vs Ship Battles, etc. last summer, I was ecxited, but a little dissapointed that there was no Kraken or Sea monsters included. Now it looks like they will be at least unleashing sea monsters to the POTCO world, unless it's a new mini-game. I can see the new quests now...

I'm hoping that fishing will be our way of reeling in the little guys- the small fries - while the big ones lurk in the shadows at the edge of the islands.

I can't wait until we can fish! The fishing thing didn't come out yet though.

I think this is what that Angler-fish creature will look like in-game. It doesn't look as fearsome as the sketch looks, though.

Please add in Big foot or a unicorn into the game. I would appreciate this, and I was the oine who came up with the idea of fishing...

lol, not really. What is Big D thinking with this. I will be uber ticked if new islands are not added with fishing, and will probably be ticked off to see that fishing will be limited and more than likely boring...

Maybe someone actually asked for this since TT has that feature.

Strangely the caribbean has been with out undersea life. Considering the amount of time I spend sinking myself to the bottom of the ocean, some fish, sharks or the little mermaid might be an interesting sight before the jail cell :)

Ok i just realized something, Captain Walter "died" around 2 months ago right? And the marceline guild hasnt chosen a new guildmaster for a reason. That reason is that we are going to find Captain Walter. And the only way to find him is to sail to ravens cove, meaning that POTCO has to add ravens cove

Somehow I doubt it will be fishing but more like enemies in the ocean! Like sea monsters. I mean after all the fish are strange so they'll probably be dangerous and we'll have to fight them! Sea monsters definitely sea monsters!

Well, since there are rods and GUI for catching fish in the files, I'm pretty sure it means we'll be fishing.

I'm sure like in some games they'll try to get away and we'll have to try and hold on.. or something, but I find it unlikely we'll actually fight them. How would we go about fighting a fish, unless they're the size of the kraken?

I'm looking forward to fishing. As long as it means more rep and more things to do, I'm happy.

Plus, when they first released potions, they accidentally put the thing you use to start fishing. They removed it slightly after, while it was still on test. They were all located at the ends of the docks on the main islands (excluding cuba).

Sorry, this week I've felt like being a little humorous.

Looking at that one thread about the newly found phase files, I'm pretty sure it'll be fishing. I'm not sure about that Sea Serpent render though...

Going to note that the fishing buckets did not trigger the fishing minigame at that time.

Thanks for adding that, I forgot that one part.. lol.

But if POTCO is following some of TT examples maybe we will have a lot more soon.

I got a funny picture in my head when I read this. Imagine reeling in a tiny little minnow, and everyone on board whips out repeaters and blast it away! Or about five high levels use flaming skull on a little angler fish! :laughks2:

Of course being a good pirate I want it to be the kraken! With a boss battle.

But... it seems Disney is on some sort of Mini-game rampage, which I don't like it's almost like they are saying "Maybe they will forget about the main game and just play these mini-games"
