Crew Days - June 23, 2010
http://a.disney.go.com/pirates/onlin...s_crewDays.jpg
Did you know that being in a CREW gets you special bonuses? It's true! Whether you're fighting a sea battle or against enemies on land, being part of a crew is smart because you get a reputation bonus and it helps you level up faster. Plus, it's just more fun to fight the Undead with other Pirates. That's why we're bringing back...CREW DAYS! Every Friday and Saturday evening, we encourage all Pirates to get down to the docks of Port Royal, Tortuga or Padres Del Fuego and CREW UP! If you're not asked, start one yourself! Then go pillage and plunder and watch how quickly you can rack up gold, reputation and other loot. WHEN: 3:00PM to 8:00PM - Every Friday and Saturday, starting June 25 (All times Pacific Standard times/Los Angeles) WHERE: Docks of Tortuga, Port Royal and Padres Del Fuego During this event, please be respectful and helpful towards your fellow Pirates by sticking to the Pirates Code. |
???is there a point to dis???

From what I see of this, they are just over-hyping it... or stalling... There's been no news since Cannon Defenses have not met their one week deadline of releasing, and so, they want to add some useless news to fill up that time... Does anyone remember a news item called "Tonic Troubles" ?
|
It's not wasteful guys. It's Crew Days! They are back! We now have the ability to do something that we can do since the day the game started... That's not right... Wait... Now we get crew bonuses... Yes... And we can fight things with friends... Yeah That's it.
|
LOL Soooo basicly its just creating even more lag at Tortuga.
|
Essentially, yes. I can just hear all of the excited players out there screaming, "CREW DAYS! YES! An excuse to talk to all those people I never do on my friends list!" Wait, what?
|
LoL Oh and my chance to sing the national anthem in the middle of Tortuga do you reckon Simon Cowell will say yes?
|
Back during the original launch of Crew Days, I went to one.. biggest mistake I probably ever made in-game. We were lucky if there was 5 people there. So, I'm gonna stray from this one ;)
|
I went to a bunch when they did these in the past. For the first month or so we got full crews, after that they started to dwindle when pirates realized it was not a GM event. Then they changed the official time of it to be an hour later, and that is when it seemed to completely die. But they were still fun. If you felt like shooting a cannon on a Friday or Saturday night it was a good place to be.

old crew days!! ^^

I know right?:laughks2: :bookishfj7::piratewheelgo2:

I never got this event.... you experience "Crew Days" every time you log on.... It is just a crew....
|
Exactly
Exactly, unless Disney plans to send GM's online, but do they think we don't know how to make a crew? It's so just say either say Ahoy if you have speedchat or speedchat plus, or says hey or hello if you have open chat. How hard is that? It sounds to me like Disney needs to do some research again on players this time (POF players and others) not like the event last year.:bookishfj7::piratewheelgo2:

It seems to me that this news item is giving a location to some of the newer players in the Caribbean to form up crews with some long time players. This has nothing to do with new stuff for us. Just encouraging us to be available to help the newer players. I still meet a lot of pirates who need directions or a helping hand. I fully support the idea of crew up days and if I can be on at the appropriate time I am more than willing to take a bunch of pirates sailing. I like that it is now a 5 hour session instead of just one hour. Now we can take a crew out for a sail, and after filling the hold go back into port to see if there are more pirates who want to join in. I think it's a great way to spend your time in the Caribbean while we patiently wait for new stuff. And when the new stuff comes, It'll be a good break from questing on a Friday or Saturday night. Who knows, maybe we'll meet some new really cool pirates.

Hows about we be able to visit The Mystical Wizard of Oz or something? Even a quest that ridiculous would be much better than Crew days, or the generic old holiday specials we've had for years...
|
Crew Days last year was enjoyable. Crewing up by Darby Drydock on Antiros or Baraba at the start time, then doing a boss battle or just sailing or raiding tormenta - whatever the crew wanted / needed.
Not having any servers named, having a giagantic 5 hour window (granted, sometimes they would go that long when everyone was having a good time, but the meet-up time was specific) and again, having no GMs show their face, makes it depressing to even try, this year. The only part even remotely amusing, was when a pirate named Kaleidoscope staged a mutiny then walked the plank. fail |
