Every year Captain Jack Sparrow seems to misplace his dear ole Dad. You can help find him however. Just visit Jack in the Rowdy Rooster Tavern on Port Royal and he'll give you the details. Crew up with your friends to find the old scallywag and you'll get Double Reputation points for helping!

Is this the quest that you keep the bonus for a set time?

That way you can hold on to it by not using said pirate untill a later time?

That's how it worked last year and the year before, yes. Hopefully unchanged.

(Actually, last year, there were a couple problems. Initially, people who had completed it the year before, were not able to get it again. Then when they fixed that, there was a glitch where some people were able to pick it up multiple times, for a very short period of time. Alas, I missed out on that!)

This would be my first year on Pirates, so I don't have an answer. I think it's two hours after you complete the quest, and even if you're not on it still runs through the time.... but I'm not certain on that.

The time limit for the double rep is "in-game" time. If you log out and log back in later, you'll have whatever time you had left when you logged out. So... what Edward said. :)

Sigh... might as well bump last years and the year before lasts thread. The DV's cant even get a new Fathers Day quest!?

Not to sound overly negative - but now that Im playing a game WITHOUT a monthly fee - that has DAILY updates, I HATE seeing people get ripped off paying for something the developers clearly arent working that hard at.

There is a NEW 'Wanted Bounty' EVERY day in this game, and in the past week, there was two new quests added! (And I havent come CLOSE to completing all the available missions!)
In addition, every WEEK the location of a traveling NPC who gives out gifts is changed, and you must collect the items and find him in exchange for cool stuff. (Tonics, weapons, fun items, etc all in presents you double click to open)

And heres pirates - with the monthly fee - rehashing the same old quest used for several years now. The newest content being an inventory system and fart tonics. Yay.

Im hoping to see more of you in the game we play - would be awesome to have so many enthusiastic pirates over there with the rest of us! LOL But, we'd have things to do!

I'm glad this is back, double rep will come in BIG handy for my smaller pirates.

I love this father's day quest always look forward to double XP (who doesn't)

I hope they have this quest on Test as well, because mother's day tattoos wasn't on Test last month :(

Logged on to test this morning and there was no pop-up for the quest, so I don't believe that it is there. Didn't actually check the Rowdy Rooster. Then logged onto live and guess what, none of my pirates are getting the quest. Talk to Jack and he just says something random. Yes, all of my pirates have done the quest before. Looks like the same problem as last year.

YEPPERS.. Fire Tigress got the quest from Sparrow but Cougar did not. UGH. DIDN'T they learn from LAST YEAR'S MISTAKE?? I guess not :(

Tired of hearing this all time. Why bother with pirates of the caribbean online anymore?

Gosh that stinks. Can testers unite and send Members Service an email. I'm going to drop them an email now.

Last year we had this quest, there is no reason they should take away from Test this year.

I am wondering why long time players cant do this quest? Don't you think we'd like some double rep too? Kind of isn't fair to us older players who have been grinding weapons waiting for some new quests. Do you think we all wouldnt want double reps? Geez Disney way to treat your long time players :sadmh9:

I am sure Disney is going to fix it. The same problem happened last year, they did a update that sorta reset the quest (since quest can't be done twice).

Last year if you could pick up the quest, you could do it again after they did the reset.

Soooo today on my new pirate I would use that double XP ASAP and hope they reset the quest for everyone and do it again :D

Can't get the quest on ANY of my 4 pirates. Would like to add that (if indeed it is a problem with not giving the quest to us longer-term players) 2 of my 4 pirates were not around during the last Father's Day event. So...yeah... =/

Isn't there a button to click that shows us the time remaining?

That's kinda sad with the disregard of testers in test server.


This means new pirates who can do the quest, you should use that double XP ASAP. A reset will be coming soon and you can pick up that quest again :D

I dont. =) All I have to look forward to is farts, no quests, and the same old stuff.

Yes, and I dont mean to SOUND negative. I just hope people realize there are better games out there for the money. Everyone I know who played, and who still pops in from time to time agrees the game is dying a slow death.

Once you play something else, its impossible to go back and be satisfied.

I've never done this quest before. This summer will be my first year on Pirates. And I couldn't get the quest.

There is no button but if you type /x2 into local chat it will tell you how much time you have left.

And how long does the double rep last?

3 hours of playing time (if you log off the clock stops and starts again when you log in again with that pirate). Starts as soon as you complete the quest.
