New Leaderboards are LIVE! - June 8, 2010

New Leaderboards are LIVE!
June 08, 2010

We've redesigned and updated the look of the Pirates Leaderboards. Check them out today!

We've made it easier to see which Pirates are leading the way in the Caribbean. The leaderboards show the highest standing Pirates in several different categories like:

  • Overall Notoriety
  • Enemies Defeated
  • Ships Sunk
  • Blackjack hands won
  • Poker hands won
  • PvP Wins

These are just a few examples of what you'll find. Log in and compare your own standing against your friends, fellow guild members or against all the Pirates in the Caribbean. It may just be what inspires you to improve your accomplishments and finish your journey to becoming ... the most Notorious Pirate in all the Caribbean!

NOTE:
The leaderboards are updated every 24 hours.
In some cases your search will not return any results because there are no current stats for that category. Please try changing the Category, View or Sort fields.

They are fixing things. I am glad.

Juliana Maria 06-09-2010 03:51 AM

Sweet! Now we can all get back to ranking! :D

Sven Niscadae 06-09-2010 05:22 AM

Finally they made this thing using simpler methods. Still don't understand why you'd want to list Overall Notoriety, Skill Points, etc. I think you'd just see 50, 30, etc.

More interesting is if you click on someone's name, it takes you to a pirate info/profile page type of thing - with all the details/stats from DXD.

Crestshot 06-09-2010 06:04 AM

This is awesome and so much easier to navigate than DXD. I have noticed, however, that it's not fully updated. It still has some of my pirates that were transferred on their old account, and all the levels are the same as they were a month ago. But once they get these little bugs fixed, I will be so much happier!

The Skirata Clan 06-09-2010 06:17 AM

Wait! It's not on DXD! Those are even better news! Now I can check that too!

Edward Edgemenace 06-09-2010 12:20 PM

The Piratesonline DxD page no longer exists.

And they tout this, even though the daily results it displays are WEEKS old?

Dog Firestack 06-09-2010 12:32 PM

Ok but I DESPISE how there's no more linked pirates that they show!

Tom Sharkwash 06-09-2010 01:40 PM

It looks like they haven't updated the pirate info because I am a level 47 and they have me as a 45.

Isaiah Ropeswine 06-09-2010 01:43 PM

They have not update yet, but the new system is up. They will most likely be back up tomorrow morning.

gingeeann 06-09-2010 02:14 PM

:cat-ani: I do not know about your statistics but for enemies defeated my numbers have not changed in over a week. I just wish disney would not hype things that do not work.

seafox 06-09-2010 03:44 PM

Somebody please tell me how to change my guild name on the bloomin' thing,,,I did it before, but I seem to have......whats the word? ....forgot.....;)

Option 1: Wait until the leaderboards start updating again, then drop guild and have someone immediately add you back in. (Guild "changes" each day are updated to the DxD copy.)

Option 2: Drop guild and get re-added to guild every day, until it is fixed.

Eliza Creststeel 06-09-2010 07:03 PM

Actually the stats haven't been updated in nearly 3 weeks.

Robmac7777 06-09-2010 07:12 PM

I had to laugh, and Disney didn't post my response to the new Leader Boards in their comments section, I asked them why did they advertise a new LB when it is broken, and has been broken for weeks? It is still frozen.

It seems it would have been prudent to fix the darn thing before Disney makes a spectacle about a new feature.

Stop the World, I wanna get off ;)

ROTFL. The "new system" is not new - it had been working when it was new. But it hasn't been working for weeks.

Judging by the "Admin" responses on the grog blog, they STILL don't even understand (or perhaps, believe) that it is broken.

But the grog blog team is doing a great job censoring the negative comments. It seems to me that their normal shtick is to only start posting the negative comments after a few days have passed?

IDK about anyone else, but my "negative comment" was worded politely, with the intent of being helpful to Disney. I'm not at all surprised (this time around) that it wasn't selected for immediate posting.

Kat Five Knives 06-10-2010 07:33 AM

Posted or not, let's just hope they READ IT, eh mate?

gingeeann 06-10-2010 01:53 PM

:cat5:They can post 1924 comments on what the navy is hiding but refrain from adding the criticism about the leaderboards that do not work. Current News? Should be Current Propaganda? No, no it should be called Current Fairy Tale after all this is disney:laughks2:

Robmac7777 06-11-2010 05:56 AM

I like the Admin that told one pirate "sure, work on getting on the Ships Sunk Boards" or words to that affect. It's true, they are censoring negative comments, no matter how polite or to the point the comments may be.

I called them out on that fact today, and I am sure my comments will not be posted. I hope they fix it soon, although it's cool to see my pal Angel at number one for ships sunk.

Crestshot 06-11-2010 06:06 AM

Actually, it seems that this negative comment got through...

why does this matter?
Hahaha. So...they're censoring the comments that are actually helpful, but they let this guy through? And without any GM comment following too. I'm sorry Disney, but try and get it right. Please?

The Skirata Clan 06-11-2010 06:18 AM

I am just thrilled that now I can access the leader board without having to use DXD.

You are thrilled to see "daily" results that are nearly a month old?

Eliza Creststeel 06-11-2010 06:52 PM

Skirata,

I agree that WILL BE a great option - when they make it work. They couldn't run the LB update and XD parallel for a while until they KNEW it would be ok?

Working for a software outfit, I know that any changes can be hard to finalize - so they should have made sure the old method was still available until the new method was ready to step up.

I'm glad I saved a copy of what -this- grog blog looked like two days ago. That particular comment was present, two days ago. (That isn't exactly a negative comment, though, just confused.)

Here is the first "new" comment added to the June 11th version:
250a255,264
> June 09, 2010 05:27AM
> ADMIN GM Cayman Trench
> ADMIN
>
> Isaiah, please allow the stats to update with a 24 hour turn around. So
> if see your stats for sinking ships today is 100,000 and you then sink
> 50 ship in that particular day. Then they won't appear as 100,050 until
> the following day. If they still don't show accurately after 24 hours,
> then try changing the category.
>
Note that Disney has no qualms about falsifying the date and time the comment is posted. Also note, that somehow, they remain clueless that the feature they are touting DOES NOT WORK.

The comments timestamped from June 09, 2010 10:51AM through June 09, 2010 01:50PM and the comments from June 09, 2010 03:07PM through June 10, 2010 08:55PM were also added for the June 11th version of the grog blog page.

In my opinion, that behavior is fraudulent.

Captain Sureshot 06-11-2010 08:08 PM

It certainly is fraudulent EE!

I believe the time stamps for player comments on the Grog Blog are related to when the comment was submitted, as opposed to when the comment was approved/posted (though a couple of times I have noticed this isn't quite 100% true).

I believe that the ADMIN comments are "fraudulently" time stamped so that they appear immediately after the comment that the ADMIN is responding to, as the comment system isn't like a traditional forum where there is a reply button.
